Chapter 2673 Meng Bai Awakens

Chapter 2673  Meng Bai Awakens

Lin Mu observed Meng Bai's body, which had changed significantly from before.

Even though his muscles and organs had not been refined, the purification of his meridians and Dantian had brought about a profound effect on his body. He could breathe better, and all his cells were thrumming with energy as if rejoicing with excitement.

His core had also undergone a transformation, changing from a pure white color to a translucent crystalline form. It now resembled a brilliant diamond, sparkling even at the smallest mote of light.

"This should be enough," Lin Mu muttered as he lifted his hands.

Meng Bai had no idea that he had just obtained an opportunity that many would kill for. It was something that even Peak Immortals would find difficult to achieve, yet Lin Mu had done it with his deep knowledge of the human body. As a dual body and Qi cultivator, there was no one better suited to understanding how such refinements could work.

His control over his Qi was exceptional, as was his command over multiple elements and vital energy. Additionally, his expertise in the Boulder and Mountain Collapsing Fist technique required absolute mastery over multiple energies. It was this experience that proved invaluable in refining Meng Bai's body.

The combination of all these factors had allowed Lin Mu to purify Meng Bai's body to an extraordinary degree. The man now possessed a level of talent akin to someone born with a high-ranked bloodline or a unique physique. He would face no bottlenecks in his cultivation until the Immortal Realm, and his progress would remain smooth as long as he received proper guidance.

Lin Mu had initially planned to perform this refinement later when the opportunity was right, but it had come earlier than expected.

"Though his body was a lot more conducive to the change than I expected," Lin Mu thought to himself. "I was fully prepared for some level of resistance from his body and meridians."

As he pondered the reason behind this unexpected ease, he realized it was likely due to the Great Qi Sea cultivation technique that Meng Bai practiced. This technique was neutral and compatible with most others, which allowed it to integrate well with various methods of cultivation. Furthermore, there was also an innate potential within Meng Bai that contributed to this seamless transformation.

However, this was not the only revelation Lin Mu had.

Having infused multiple elemental energies into Meng Bai's body, he inadvertently discovered the young man's innate elemental affinity.

"To think he would have an affinity for the Water element," Lin Mu muttered to himself.

Water was the one Mortal element to which Lin Mu had the least affinity at the time. Even in the Immortal Realm, his affinity for it remained relatively low, despite improvements brought about by cultivating the Omniscore Ascendancy and forming his Water Core. However, when compared to most others, his Water affinity was still at a level that would put them to shame.

Moreover, Lin Mu had cultivated the Five Treasures Realm and consumed the flesh of the Glacial Shell Snail. While this did not grant him an affinity for the Water element, it did provide him with some level of understanding in the Spirit Realm.

Without these combined factors, no one else would have been able to replicate what Lin Mu had done.

Of course, Lin Mu had limits, too. If Meng Bai had already reached the Immortal Realm, this refinement would not have been possible. By that stage, his foundation would have become too rigid to undergo such purification, and the accumulated impurities would have settled permanently. Only exceedingly rare and valuable purification elixirs would be capable of aiding such a process at that point.

"Hmm… The training plan will have to be adjusted after this, I suppose," Lin Mu muttered, reflecting on his newfound knowledge.

Meng Bai's affinity for the Water element was a significant advantage. It was not only beneficial for his cultivation but also held potential applications in formations.

"If he can gain better control over the Water element, he will be able to regulate the flow of ink more efficiently. That would make it easier for him to create talismans," Lin Mu analyzed. "Though for other types of formations, he will still need more effort."

This meant that the initial part of his plan—to improve Meng Bai's handwriting—remained unchanged. The boy would not be getting off easy anytime soon.

"Ugh…"

While Lin Mu was lost in thought, Meng Bai stirred awake. He let out a groan and rose from the ground, feeling strangely refreshed. However, despite his physical revitalization, a lingering mental fatigue from the terrifying events earlier still clung to him.

Blinking a few times, he tried to gather his bearings as the scene before him came into focus.

"Daoist Lin Mu?" Meng Bai uttered, confusion evident in his tone.

He was disoriented, unsure of where he was or what had happened.

"Are you okay?" Lin Mu asked.

"I think so… But what happened earlier?" Meng Bai asked before his gaze shifted behind Lin Mu.

As he craned his neck, his eyes fell upon the towering figure that had filled him with soul-crushing terror.

"Beast!" he shouted in alarm.

"It's fine," Lin Mu quickly reassured him, anticipating another possible fainting spell. "That's my tamed beast."

"Little Shrubby," he called out.

The massive beast tilted its head before shrinking down into a more 'tolerable' size. However, even at its reduced stature, Little Shrubby was still as large as a full-grown tiger—an imposing presence that would easily terrify most people.

"Tamed beast?" Meng Bai repeated, disbelief evident in his voice. The idea that Lin Mu was also a beast tamer had not even crossed his mind. Yet now that he thought about it, it did not seem that strange.

With Little Shrubby's size reduced and his aura restrained, the beast no longer radiated the suffocating pressure from before. This made it easier for Meng Bai to perceive him as something less monstrous.

"This is Little Shrubby," Lin Mu introduced. "My first tamed beast."
