Chapter 2682 - Looked Down On By Others
Chapter 2682 Looked Down On By Others
Translator: Larbrestudio
Reverend Jin Wu, leading the trio, stopped in the air five hundred miles away from the Suspended Holy Mountain.
He surveyed the surroundings and quickly found the location of the Palmy Branch disciples.
About a thousand had gathered in a group, waiting for the Headquarters Selection to begin.
People have gathered in masses near the Suspended Holy Mountain. Usually, those from the same branch stayed together.
There were thousands of branches at the Ancient Cloud Star Alliance, which summed up the numbers that had gathered here.
Of course, the numbers right now were far from the total, as only a small section had arrived at first.
“Go there!” Reverend Jin Wu called out, and led the trio to the place where the members of the Palmy Branch had gathered.
“Elder Jin Wu!”
“Elder Jin Wu!”
A group of people from the Palmy Branch bowed to Reverend Jin Wu. About a quarter of them were Branch Elders.
Elder could not participate in the Headquarters Selection, but they took their disciples here.
Some disciples did not have teachers and attended alone or in a pack.
“Rise, everyone!” Reverend Jin Wu waved and began to converse with the group of Elders.
Su Mo looked around. There were about eight hundred disciples from the Palmy Branch, which was not a lot, only a small number.
He did not recognize any one of them.
But these people were not as simple as he had thought. About one third of them were Advanced Supreme Beings.
After that, Su Mo observed the others who had gathered around the Suspended Holy Mountain. Among the crowd, there were quite a number of strong contenders and thousands of Advanced Supreme Being.
He spotted Leng Canfeng from the Red Summer Branch, Reverend Tian Jue from the Qing Hua Branch, as well as the young man next to him, Ye Jin.
He did not manage to find Zi Xiao and Di Yihun after a quick look. Perhaps they had not arrived yet, or were in the mountains already.
“As long as they’re in the Ancient Cloud Star Alliance, they’ll come!” Ling Chang said. She seemed to know who Su Mo was looking for.
“Right!” Su Mo nodded. He knew that much.
Then, he stopped observing the crowd and chose to wait quietly.
Around the mountain, more and more people dropped in as time passed. They were all disciples from various Branches, or Elders leading their big bunch of apprentices.
More and more disciples of the Palmy Branch had gathered, the numbers exceeding two thousand in just half an hour.
Priest Tian Hua had come too. Not only had he brought his closest disciples Quan Ruhai and Chang Yi, but he had a dozen disciples from the Palmy Branch follow him as well.
Quan Ruhai’s training was the same as Su Mo, a Low-rank Supreme Being, while Chang Yi had achieved the title of Advanced Supreme Being.
While Priest Tian Hua, Reverend Jin Wu, and a host of Elders were discussing the Selection, Quan Ruhai approached Su Mo and Ling Chang.
“It’s been a while, Junior Xuan Qing. Congratulations on breaking through to the Supreme Being Realm!” Quan Ruhai looked calm as he greeted Ling Chang, fists balled together.
He did not like it at all that the younger ones, Xuan Qing and Wu Shan, had managed to catch up to him in a flash.
But he was confident that he could break through to Middle-rank Supreme Being first.
After all, it had been thirty years or so since he had broken through to the Supreme Being Realm. His Rule power was getting stronger. Before long, he could ascend to Middle-rank Supreme Being.
“Thank you!” Ling Chang grinned and gave no other remark.
“Wu Shan, I admire your talent, but whether or not we can enter the headquarters will depend on our future endeavors!” Quan Ruhai said flatly.
Su Mo stayed silent as he looked the man coldly in the eye. I do not need reminding, least of all from you.
“You’re indeed stronger than I am now, but let’s see what happens in the future!” Quan Ruhai added.
“I’m sorry. I’ve never regarded you as a rival, and | don’t intend to!” Su Mo stated. He had always thought nothing of the man, and yet Quan Ruhai wanted to compete with him.
Quan Ruhai’s face sank and snickered, “I see you as a rival either way and | intend to surpass you again!”
Su Mo shrugged and said nothing more. He cared little about what someone else wanted to do.
Quan Ruhai left with a snort and headed towards Priest Tian Hua.
“Quan Ruhai, you better not hold off the Immortal Rule. Make an effort!” Su Mo shouted at him, almost letting it slip that he would want it back someday.
“When did I ever need your reminding?” Quan Ruhai cackled without looking back.
Su Mo shook his head, smiling. What an interesting man. Do study the Rule for me!
“The Clear Moon Branch!” a voice sounded from afar. Su Mo looked away to find a group of people flying across the starry sky.
There were about three thousand of them, guided by hundreds of Elders, making their way towards the Suspended Holy Mountain.
Elder Lin Wanru, who had assisted Su Mo before, was among them.
“Ba Shiyu of the Clear Moon Branch should be able to enter the headquarters without question!”
“I wouldn’t be so sure, but he definitely has a higher chance than others. Perhaps one of the Lords might spot his talent and take him as a disciple!”
“Ba Shiyu’s too strong. He reigned supreme over the Ancient Cloud Star Alliance more than three hundred years ago. He’s unrivalled in the Supreme Being Realm. If he hasn’t been restraining his training for the sake of
getting into the headquarters, he would have reached the Supreme Realm much sooner!”
“No one’s a match for him in the Supreme Being Realm.”
There was a lot of discussion around. Many people had their eyes set on one disciple of the Clear Moon Branch.
The person wore a regular grey robe. He had an average build with a handsome face. His sharp nose curved downwards as it sat on a high bridge. Unfortunately, the aquiline nose ruined his overall appearance, giving
him an uncoordinated look.
“Is he that great?” Su Mo, following everyone else’s gaze, asked Lin Ya next to him as he looked up at Ba Shiyu, the man with the aquiline nose.
“Strong, very strong. He was famous across the Ancient Cloud Star Alliance about three hundred years across. It’s a bit exaggerated to say that he’s unrivalled in the Supreme Being Realm, but there hasn’t been a
Supreme Being who could beat him so far, and only a few who could be on equal footing with him. Among all the disciples in all the branches, he’s considered one-in-a-million!”
In all seriousness, Lin Ya added, “But that’s all history now. He hasn’t been showing his face during these three hundred years, so no one knows how strong he really is right now.”
Su Mo nodded in acknowledgement. This person would make a strong rival and could take up a quota.
The Clear Moon Branch landed in an empty space. Ba Shiyu continued to keep a low profile as he sat down cross-legged and began to meditate.
Just then. Elder Wanru managed to lock onto Su Mo’s aura amidst the large crowd of people. Then she flew towards Su Mo with another woman in tow.
“Elder Lin!” Su Mo grinned as he bowed at the woman. He was indebted to her, so of course he had to show courtesy.
“Wu Shan, it’s been a long time!” Lin Wanru smiled back and went on to introduce the lady next to her, “This is my daughter, Ning Piaoying.”
“Good day, Miss Ning!” Su Mo smiled and nodded at the lady. She was wearing a fine blue dress and was the spitting image of her mother, with brows as light as feathers, skin as white as snow, a waist as slim as a beam,
and teeth the color of shellfish.
Her heart-shaped face and exquisite facial features gave her beauty and elegance.
But the lady displayed an air of arrogance, as though others were beneath her.
“Hi!” In response to Su Mo’s greeting, Ning Piaoying nodded and said nothing more.
“Wu Shan, I think today’s the day you will get to repay the favor I asked for!” Lin Wanru chuckled.
“Oh. Do tell, Elder Lin!” said Su Mo.
“Piaoying’s skills are quite average when compared to the other disciples attending the Selection. If it’s possible, could you help her out during the contest?” Lin Wanru solemnly requested.
“Eh…!” Su Mo was left stunned. Was this how he was meant to repay her?
“Mother, don’t joke about that!” Ning Piaoying looked rather cross. She went on to say, “He’s just a Low-rank Supreme Being, not even my level, and yet you want him to help me?
She was a Middle-rank Supreme Being. Her mother must have been making a really bad joke if she had requested a Low-rank Supreme Being to help her.
“Piaoying, Wu Shan’s really strong. He might not have gotten as far as you have in terms of training, but he has a greater chance than you do!” Lin Wanru emphasised. Her daughter’s skills were quite average amongst
those of the same ranking. She could not possibly enter the headquarters without any assistance.
On the other hand, Su Mo was basically invincible below the Supreme Being Realm when he was at Ninth Grade, Middle Rank. Now that he had achieved the Supreme Being Realm, his combat power surely must have
exceeded most Middle-Rank Supreme Beings.
So she wanted him to help. She did not expect Su Mo to succeed in doing so, but she would prefer a backup support to improve her daughter’s chances.
“Him?”
Ning Piaoying cast him a glance and chortled, “I’ve heard of him. He might be all great and powerful below the Supreme Being Realm, but what leverage does he have amongst all these disciples who are Supreme Beings
too?”
With that, Ning Piaoying turned towards the bunch of disciples of the Clear Moon Branch, where she was later heard saying, “I can do it with Brother Ba Shiyu’s help!”
“This child!” Lin Wanru frowned at her daughter’s behavior.
Su Mo felt a little awkward. The girl was not interested in him at all, how could he help?
“Pardon us, Wu Shan, my daughter can be quite capricious!” Lin Wanru said to Su Mo apologetically.
“That’s alright. I’ll help if I can!” Su Mo responded.
“Thank you so much!” Lin Wanru nodded. They chatted for a bit more before she turned to leave too.
Su Mo shook his head. There was no way he could help someone else when he had next to no confidence in entering the headquarters himself.
Just then, two figures came flying at top speed from the edge of the sky.
Su Mo had not been too concerned but, after a brief look, his eyes snapped open in shock as he glared at the two.
Here! They’re finally here!
The pair speeding towards them was no other than Young Master Liu Yun and Di Yihun..
