Chapter 1262: Death of the Earth
Chapter 1262: Death of the Earth

"Now is the time!"
While Warsky Alliance and Candle Dragon were busy tearing into each other, I rushed toward Mingyu and fired my Burning Blade Slash and Myriad Swords Obliteration from the farthest range possible. The effect was immediate, and Mingyu dropped yet another chunk of HP. Although the boss had returned to life, the human body he inhabited actually became his greatest weakness.
Lin Yixin and He Yi also attacked the boss from two different directions, activating their Ancient Divine Skills before firing off their Purgatory of Ice and Magma and Ice Flame Slash. While Gan Jiang and Mo Ye and Chengying and Hanguang were still active, every attack they dealt ignored Defense completely. Judging from how Mingyu was screaming in pain, he definitely didn’t look like he had a good time at all.
……
Clop clop clop…
Suddenly, a group of cavalrymen on white horses galloped in our direction. It was Flowing Cloud leading her White Horse Cavalry.
"Sh*t! The White Horse Cavalry is planning to surround us! Withdraw!"
I hurriedly barked out a warning before rushing to the edge of the enemy’s formation. Then, I fired Thousand Ice Slash that successfully froze almost 30% of the party. I dashed away immediately after firing a skill, and it was a good decision because dozens of Trapping Nets hit the spot barely a second later. It was obvious that they were planning to take me and the girls out first before claiming the Dragonslaying Sword.
Dragon Domain was open to all the servers. China, India, Russia, Japan; everyone could accept a quest that was related to the Dragonslaying Sword. Did I also mention that the quests were universal? Anyway, this was a battle to claim the Dragonslaying Sword so that one might complete their own quests.
While Lin Yixin, He Yi and I were forced to leave Mingyu, Flowing Cloud let out a chuckle and said cheekily, "Thank you for the boss, Lu Chen!"
I gnashed my teeth. "Dammit!"
Even Lin Yixin was stomping the ground to vent her anger. After we had escaped to relative safety, she planted her sword on the ground and put her hands on her waist. "Let’s try again when the boss is at 3% HP. Hmph! They think they have the numbers? Just wait till Purple Marquis and Nangong Lexi get here. I’m going to slaughter every single one of these bastards to the last!"
I nodded. "Yes, we will!"
Unlike the two of us, He Yi was actually less bothered by the fact that we had lost the initiative. "Calm down, you two. The boss still has 8% HP, and don’t forget that it’s a Quasi-Divine Rank Boss. It won’t go down so easily."
"Yeah!"
……
He Yi was right. Mingyu suddenly jumped to his feet, and fire spun madly around his entire body. Wearing a sinister smile on his face, he declared, "You lowly ants really think your pathetic strength is enough to kill me? Come and taste the trials of the Purgatory!"
He then raised the Dragonslaying Sword high into the air and chanted, "O’ giant devils who slumber within the Purgatory, awaken and bring forth the fury of the earth! Turn everything before my eyes into transient ash! I, Abyss of Destruction Mingyu, cast—Death of the Earth!"
It was obviously another super AoE skill. This is going to be "fun"!
I grabbed He Yi and Lin Yixin’s hands and high-tailed it out of there without hesitation. Lian Xin, Beiming Xue and the rest of the girls had of course backed off even sooner than us. When the earth trembled and tore itself asunder, fiery devils rose from the cracks and started attacking every player within their vicinity. Natural Flow’s White Horse Cavalry were no exception. Flowing Cloud saw it coming and managed to mount a fairly early retreat, but she still lost over 90% of her HP. The same couldn’t be said for the large majority of her troops.
On the other side, Candlelight Shadow activated Heavenly River Transformation, pulled Ye Yuse up his mount and declared, "Retreat for now! We can strike Mingyu down after he’s done casting his spell! The upper hand is still in our hands since Warsky Alliance’s best experts are dead, and it’ll take them at least 5 minutes to run back to their bodies! A shame that Warsky didn’t drop his Immortal Blade though!"
While saying this, Candlelight Shadow picked up the pair of wristguards Warsky dropped and let out a cold snort. "Level 215 Immortal-grade metal armor wristguards? He must be wearing a full set of Immortal-grade equipment. Where on earth did he even get this stuff? Fucking P2W players. Oh well, at least it must’ve cost him a lot of money!"
Ye Yuse consoled him, "P2W players aren't invincible, boss. I’m sure you’re way stronger than Warsky!"
Candlelight Shadow shot her a smile.
……
The battlefield was utter chaos right now. There were probably enough bodies to make a trench or two. I saw Chinese, Russians, Indians, Japanese and even Northern Alliancers among them. Although Dragon Domain was closest to China and Russia, again the map was open to all servers. Naturally, our distant "friends" couldn’t resist the lure that was the Dragonslaying Sword, even if it was more liable to burn them than benefit them.
Bang!
Mingyu wasn’t done yet, however. He abruptly stabbed the Dragonslaying Sword into the ground and shone like a red sun. Blood-red magic runes floated out of the cracks from the ground as Mingyu looked to the sky and chanted in a deep voice, "Undying souls of Dragon Domain, your master has returned to the world! Come forth and aid me to slay all the enemies before my eyes, old friends!"
Crack…
The soft crack was followed by an explosion, and the gigantic skull of a dragon poked out from a previously-collapsed cave. It was a silver elder dragon that had died a long time ago, and its cool, frozen eyes flashed with unbridled menace. It opened its mouth and said slowly, "Mingyu, my old friend! You’ve finally returned to Dragon Domain! I’ve waited for this day for far too long already. That brat Binglan had sealed me so, so long ago…"
Not only that, a dozen or so skeletal dragons crawled out of the underground and climbed to the ground surface as well. These giant dragons were obviously dead for a very long time, but Mingyu’s spell had resurrected them all for this fight. We outnumbered him a moment ago, but now it was practically the other way around!
He still wasn’t done yet. Next, he pointed to the east and said, "Human warriors who once served me, rise from your cold graves, control your former companions and join me to create a new world for ourselves. After all, this world rightfully belongs to us dark dragon knights, doesn’t it?"
About five hundred meters to the northeast of Dragon God Cave, bony arms suddenly pushed out of the earth. At least dozens of ancient dragon knights who had perished a hundred thousand years ago crawled out of their own graves, grasped their lightless weapons and ran wordlessly to Mingyu’s aid. On the way, dead giant dragons ran over so that their riders could leap onto their backs. Finally, they let out an unearthly roar at the players on the clearing and charged.
At least a hundred dark dragon knights dashed to Mingyu’s aid in the blink of an eye. These brave warriors had died to defend humanity, but now they had become humanity’s greatest enemies.
……
"OMG, this is bullsh*t…"
Lin Yixin complained with a cute pout. "Even if Mingyu only has 7% HP left, there’s no way we can get through all these undead dragon knights and kill him. Maybe we could do it if we were all at the level cap, but now…"
Not far away, Warsky revived and withdrew with Song of Ice and Fire, Farewell Song and more without hesitation. He shouted, "Retreat! There’s no way we can beat this fucking cheater while these dark dragon knights are around! It’s one thing to fight for the Dragonslaying Sword, and another to lose everything and still fail to get it! This is like getting a woman’s perfume on you and not getting to fuck her! No way I’m throwing myself into this sh*t!"
Everyone was doing the same thing. Mingyu was untouchable right now, so there was no point in even trying.
……
Whoosh whoosh…
Suddenly, flocks of startled birds took off to the sky. It meant that a large amount of something had entered the forest.
The sound of horse hooves and crushed branches grew steadily louder until a beautiful woman riding a snow white warhorse and wielding a sword emerged into the open. There was a redbud symbol on her belt, the royal symbol of Sky City. The royal flag flew behind her back, and she was accompanied by a large number of troops. The woman was none other than Princess Karinshan herself. It would seem that the human leader had somehow detected the drastic change of energy in Dragon Domain, knew that a calamity was upon them, and reacted to it accordingly.
War drums resounded from a different direction immediately after Princess Karinshan’s forces appeared, and a group of undead cavalry carrying the symbol of the Violet Empire entered into view. They were led by Queen Sophia and Shadow Dancer Xue Wei themselves. For today at least, it would seem that Dragon Domain had become the center stage of the entire continent.
Shadow Dancer Xue Wei shot me a smile from the distance before looking at Mingyu with a frown. "Your Majesty, it looks like Mingyu has summoned the dragon knights from the dead. This will be difficult!"
Sophia gnashed her teeth together. "They’re no dragon knights. They’re just powerful puppets at best. Dispatch the square formation and make use of our succubi archers’ natural advantage. It doesn’t matter what Mingyu summons, we’re going to kill everything and claim the Dragonslaying Sword. How dare this Mingyu wake his loyal subordinates from their eternal slumber only to enslave them. He must pay for this!"
……
Chiang!
Karinshan unsheathed her sword and pointed in Mingyu's direction. "Kill them all!"
The war was about to begin, and everyone was holding their breaths tightly. This was a battle between top-tier NPCs, and us players were not meant to turn things in humanity’s favor, only to steal the Dragonslaying Sword for ourselves when the time was right. It had been said many times before, but whoever obtained the Dragonslaying Sword would obtain a most handsome reward…
……
"Big bro…"
Suddenly, a familiar voice entered my ears.
I looked up in astonishment and found a beautiful girl clad in black armor and carrying the Dragonbone Spear floating above me. She shot me a sweet smile and said, "You’re here too, big bro?"
