Vile Evil Hides Under The Veil

Chapter 1953 Valys the Calamity Dragon

1953  Valys the Calamity Dragon

The butcher's conquest of the land and the seas would ultimately end in failure if he chose mass extermination of the masses over conversion.

Thus, Eren had decided to turn God Raashim's followers into his own.

But such a transformation couldn't happen overnight—it would take decades, even centuries, to shift the perceptions of the common people and low ranked mana practitioners on the island and in the surrounding regions.

The real question was, did Eren have that much time? He did not. The Witches' Sabbath was fast approaching.

There was only one way to make God Raashim's followers abandon their faith in him: to show them how powerless their god truly was in the real world, despite his Immortal status.

And the only way Eren could achieve that was by confronting him directly.

It was as if Eren had already anticipated that Shir would be driven to desperation by his recent moves. He had deliberately remained in the deep seas, stalling the main battlefield on Baga Island just long enough for Shir to establish a connection with God Raashim himself.

Eren wanted to take a chance—a chance so ridiculously bold that, if successful, it would make him one of the most well-known demigods in the boundless cosmos. Even if he failed, he would still make a name for himself in Labh Salem simply for trying.

"Hmph! You're completely insane," Azurea scoffed at Eren's bold words.

"It sounds clever in theory, but in practice, you'd realize how absurd it is. You want to bait a god and catch him by surprise? For what?\

Even if you succeed, you'd be the ultimate loser because there is nothing you can do to God Raashim, no matter what tricks you have up your sleeve.

Not to mention A or S Ranks—even SS or SSS Rank entities are powerless against a god, even if he descended into the mortal world using his real body.

The fact that they are Immortal means they can wield Immortal magic, which surpasses even the highest forms of intent-based magic.

Beings like them don't even have to lift a finger to kill someone like you. They merely have to think about it, and you'd be reduced to ashes, scattered to the winds."

Eren ignored Azurea's warnings. It wasn't that he underestimated a god—he was fully aware of the risks of what he was about to do.

However, he was certain that his life wouldn't be in danger, no matter what happened. Even if luck wasn't on his side tonight, the worst that could occur was damage to his demonic army—a loss he was willing to wager in pursuit of something far greater.

Of course, Eren saw no need to explain any of this to Azurea. The success of his plan depended on the element of surprise. For that reason, he chose not to discuss it with the twin dragonesses, even though they were temporarily on his side.

In fact, he hadn't even shared the details with most of his demonic army—only a select few key members had a vague understanding of his intentions.

"Thanks for your understanding, Marina dear," Eren said, turning to Marina. "If you'd like to participate in the upcoming battle on my side, I'd be more than happy to accept your offer." His tone was smooth and courteous.

The way he spoke to Marina was completely different from how he argued with Azurea, which irritated the latter even more. Though she knew Eren had only started disrespecting her after she badmouthed him, that knowledge did little to ease her frustration.

Azurea was used to being coaxed into things—whether by her father or the Raashim Temple. Eren's blunt and indifferent attitude made him stand out in her mind for all the wrong reasons.

"My sister might cooperate with you," Azurea said, looking at Eren with open discontent, "but I won't. You're not even a Sage Ranker, yet you think you can boss me around? Do you believe the help of two true dragonesses is so cheap that you can earn it with mere flowery words? What a joke."

"I don't need your help," Eren replied, his gaze narrowing as his voice turned cold. The apathy in his eyes was chilling.

"You will fight in the upcoming battle on my side to show your allegiance. Consider it repayment for sparing your life—and for marrying you instead of killing you both outright.

"Now, don't make me repeat myself. Otherwise, I might just start bullying the entire dragon race because of you. I already despise the wolf species because of the actions of one. Don't make me add dragons to that list."

"Haah! Big words with no foundation to back them up. Do you think dragons are so easy to bully?

We are not howlers, you madman. We roar and destroy everything in our path.

Besides, you won't need to fight the entire dragon race—just wait until my lord father arrives in Labh Salem.

Despite all the restrictions he may face by coming to Labh Salem, it's his homeworld. He alone will be more than enough to deal with you," Azurea said proudly.

"Yeah?" Eren smiled wickedly, his expression dark.

"You better hope he—or any other dragon—doesn't stand in my way. Otherwise, I'll start slaughtering dragons so much…. So relentlessly that Creation itself will take pity on you and increase your birth rates across the boundless cosmos."

The butcher spoke with unnerving calm and confidence. He didn't release his aura or raise his voice. He didn't even care whether Azurea believed him or not.

Yet, something about his presence made her subconsciously unable to dismiss his words as mere bravado.

"Dragons are indeed fearsome, but," the sea monster finally spoke, looking at his half-brother with a knowing gaze.

"They are not invincible. Also, brother, you don't have to worry too much about Valys. Although he is an SSS-Rank Calamity Rank dragon, he only recently advanced, and his foundation is unstable.

It will take him at least 10,000 years to recover from the soul injuries he sustained when he forcefully attempted to break into the SSS-Rank. Not only will his rank be suppressed to SS-Rank, but he also won't be free to roam Labh Salem as he pleases."
