Shen Qin’s gaze swept across everyone in the private room. Noting that Gu Jin and Cao Cuo did not challenge Feng Jue’s assertion, she sneered. “I heard from my brother that after the light cone experiment, you forgot her appearance. I didn’t think it was true, but clearly, you don’t remember. I still do.”
She pointed at Gu Yang and declared firmly, “She’s not Wuyang.”
Gu Yang remained silent, feeling she had little say in the matter due to her lack of specific memories.
Feng Jue continued to hold Gu Yang’s hand, his tone mocking as he addressed Shen Qin. “Just because you can’t recognize my sister doesn’t mean everyone is as blind as you.”
“Feng Jue! I know you’re infatuated with her, but don’t deceive yourself. She’s not Wuyang! No matter how similar they might seem, a fake is still a fake.”
Shen Qin’s voice was icy as she spoke to Feng Jue. Abruptly, she took out the bottle of “Tranquil Heart” perfume, which had cost 200 million yuan, and toyed with it. She then looked at Gu Yang with a smirk. “Your fragrance is decent, but compared to hers, it’s quite inferior.”
Actually, Shen Qin should have smashed the bottle of perfume, but considering she had paid 200 million yuan for it, the perfume seemed to cling to her hand.
Feng Jue glared at Shen Qin, then hurled the teacup he was holding at her, shattering it against the back of her hand.
The bottle of perfume slipped from Shen Qin’s grasp, and her smile faltered.
Cao Cuo, who was nearby, swiftly caught the falling bottle and placed it carefully on the table.
“Feng Jue! What are you doing?” Shen Qin exclaimed, relieved that the perfume was unharmed but clearly angered by Feng Jue’s actions.
As Shen Qin reached for the bottle on the table, Feng Jue’s eyes remained cold as he addressed her. “Are you really worthy of holding this perfume?”
“I spent 200 million yuan on this!” Shen Qin retorted, her voice icy.
Originally, she hadn’t planned to bid on this bottle of perfume. Meeting Xiao Yang would have clarified if she was indeed Gu Yang. However, the promise of stimulating inspiration had tempted her.
Feng Jue’s gaze softened as he looked at Gu Yang. The coldness in his eyes melted away, replaced by a warmth akin to spring’s first bloom. His voice was gentle and affectionate, with a hint of pleading. “Sister, I want it.”
Gu Yang glanced at Feng Jue and smiled. “Okay.”
Seeing Feng Jue’s familiar expression, Shen Qin was momentarily taken aback. The contrast between the girl before her and the image of the girl she remembered was striking.
Shaking off the disconcerting thought, Shen Qin quickly regained her composure and said urgently, “Xiao Yang!”
Gu Yang continued to smile, her tone calm. “Miss Shen, since you don’t like my perfume, I won’t sell this bottle. I’ll arrange for the auction to return the money and handle the breach of contract.”
Shen Qin frowned. Though she had been eager to acquire the perfume, her disdain earlier made it difficult to justify the purchase now. To insist on buying it would feel like admitting defeat.
“If you don’t want to sell it to me, then don’t. I don’t care,” Shen Qin said tersely.
With that, she turned and began to leave.
“Wait. Where’s Shen Ran?” Gu Yang called after her.
Their visit wasn’t just to confront Shen Qin but to find Shen Ran.
Shen Qin halted but didn’t turn around. “I don’t know.”
She then hurriedly exited the private room.
Gu Yang watched the door thoughtfully. “She knows where Shen Ran is.”
