Chapter 397 - Determination
Chapter 397: Determination
Lady Phoenix had intentionally left these survivors alive. They’d been asked to testify that the beauty, who’d looked like a fairy that day, was the killer. This description referred to Feng Tianlan. However, the woman who had shown up to testify certainly wasn’t the beauty from that day, although she’d claimed to be Feng Tianlan.
Therefore, to accomplish the mission that Lady Phoenix had given them, the magistrate and the others thought that this woman before them should die solely because she was called Feng Tianlan. They testified against her without even bothering to investigate the truth.
However, even though the beauty that day had been brutal, the ugly lady before them today was even more ruthless.
Feng Tianlan lowered her eyes and looked at the magistrate, who was lying in a pool of blood. She then looked at those pleading for mercy and confessing the truth. “Spare your lives?”
“Thank you—”
Before they could finish talking, the vine twisted their necks, and slashing sounds were heard. Their heads became like frosted eggplants hanging crookedly from their necks.
Feng Tianlan retracted her vine and stepped over the bodies. “And who among you spared me?”
Innocent?
Since they had brazenly lied and said that she was the murderer, they could not be called innocent at all.
Chuling glanced at the corpses and followed along behind Feng Tianlan, asking, “Miss, are you going to leave matters like this? Aren’t you going to go after the person behind all of this?”
“It’s Tu Xiupei without a doubt.” Feng Tianlan glanced at the deserted town then said, “Burn it down.”
As she thought about it, she realized that Tu Xiupei had not killed everyone simply to keep her secret. She’d wanted to shift the blame for the crime of murder to Feng Tianlan. She’d even colluded with the Magistrates’ Office while they’d waited for her in town.
What exactly was the definition of cruelty without mercy?
Tu Xiupei. That was the definition. To keep her secret, she had not hesitated to kill hundreds of people. To set up her sister, she’d shifted the blame for her crime to Tianlan. She was truly capable of anything.
It seemed like Feng Tianlan had underestimated Tu Xiupei after all!
After a short while, the Misty Town was in flames. The raging fire lit up Feng Tianlan’s eyes. However, even the conflagration couldn’t warm her up.
Feng Tianlan leaped onto the horse’s back. With the raging fire in the background, she rode in the direction of South Peace City.
In the first place, she wanted to make a strong comeback. This meant that she needed to return to the Xuantian Continent in upright and spectacular fashion.
Shen Yunya still didn’t know that she was Shen Qingdai. There was no reason, for now, to flinch or restrict her movements.
Feng Tianlan raised her hand and threw the hairband tying up her hair into the air. The hairband flew backward, fell into the raging fire, and was instantly burnt to a crisp. The Shen Qingdai, who had been full of worries and hesitation, had died in the blaze as well.
Chuling, who was right behind her, looked at Feng Tianlan riding her horse. Her white dress fluttered in the wind. Her hair, no longer restricted, blew freely, and twisted in the wind. Her imposing manner caused one to surrender.
Chuling believed that one day, her miss would be at the peak, looking down at this world!

When they were back at South Peace City, Feng Tianlan rushed to the Luo Manor on her horse. However, when she reached the door, she saw a white lantern with the word ‘libation’ written on it. Her heart immediately clicked, and she started to worry.
Feng Tianlan jumped off the horse and rushed toward Luo Yunzhu’s courtyard, calling, “Yunzhu!”
“Miss Feng.”
Feng Tianlan did not see Luo Yunzhu. She saw her servant and asked anxiously, “Where is Yunzhu? What’s happened here at Luo Manor?”
“Miss was at the Blue Flame Academy…”
Feng Tianlan did not wait for her to finish. She let go of the servant’s hand and ran outside. She hopped onto her horse’s back and rushed toward the Blue Flame Academy. She asked the students if they’d seen anything then hurried to the evergreen garden where the dean lived.
Finally, she sighted Luo Yunzhu, dressed in plain clothes and talking to a few of the Academy’s elders. Feng Tianlan’s thumping heart settled down. She walked outside and called to her, “Yunzhu.”
Hearing Feng Tianlan’s voice, Luo Yunzhu was surprised for a moment. Then, she said to the elders in a deep voice, “You should head back now.”
