Chapter 484: The Youngest Doctor Of Chinese Medicine

Inside the pharmacy at the Royal Medical Hall, there was a camphor wood floor to ceiling apothecary cabinet. A young female doctor in a white coat was playing with a copper ring on one of the drawers as she nagged to a male doctor who was collecting a prescription.

“Yang Xi, that Yu Gangan, was she Elder Huang’s student? She’s so young. Even younger than our famous Dr. Feng.”

“Sun Yanzhen, Dr. Yu is recommended by Elder Huang, so she must be highly skilled,” the male doctor replied as he wrapped some herbs in brown kraft paper.

“Haha, but that’s not what I heard,” Sun Yanzhen said with ridicule. “She’s so young. Even younger than us. She looks like a university student. How experienced could she be…?”

As the two chatted, another young female doctor entered. Sun Yanzhen immediately turned to her and asked, “Xu Jiayi, I heard you talked to Yu Gangan today and saw the way that Elder Huang thought highly of her.”

Xu Jiayi was the doctor that told Yu Gangan not to recklessly diagnose patients. In an awkward manner, she replied, “Don’t remind me about it, Dr. Sun. How did I know she was an actual doctor. I even scolded her. How embarrassing.”

The male doctor smiled, “She’s quite popular. They call her the most beautiful doctor of Chinese medicine online. I can’t believe you didn’t recognize her.”

Xu Jiayi covered her face, not knowing whether to laugh or cry…

“But, I reckon she’s no different to us. Apparently…” Sun Yanzhen lowered his voice and continued, “I heard that she has a good family background so she gave some money to the medical association. I must say, it’s good to be rich.”

Xu Jiayi and the male doctor, Yang Xi, both smiled faintly.

Regardless of whether she had real capabilities, to get Elder Huang’s recommendation and support, her strength couldn’t be doubted.

Even if there was a trace of doubt, they shouldn’t provoke her for the sake of Elder Huang.

“I’ve thought about it and decided to go say hello. I’ll also talk to her about what happened the other day,” Xu Jiayi said as she walked out and headed straight for Yu Gangan’s office.

When she heard a knock on her door, Yu Gangan shouted, “Come in.”

The door to the consultation room entered and, instead of seeing a colleague, she saw the female doctor from the corridor the other day. With a smile, she said, “Dr. Yu, hi, I’m Xu Jiayi.”

Yu Gangan stood up and smiled back at the woman, “Hi, please sit. What’s wrong?”

Xu Jiayi sat on the chair cautiously, “It’s nothing. I simply came to say hello and apologize for yesterday.”

“It’s fine, don’t overthink it.”

“Please take care of me from now on, Dr. Yu.”

“You’re being too polite.”

After seeing Xu Jiayi off, Yu Gangan sighed. It was her first day consulting so she had fewer patients than her colleagues. Thus, she spent the day like a monkey in a zoo, endlessly being observed.

After a day of consultation, Yu Gangan went to see Elder Huang again, but when she saw him, he was just leaving.

Yu Gangan saw that Elder Huang’s assistant was holding a medicine chest and asked, “Do you have a house call?”

Elder Huang pointed outside, “Yes, do you want to come with me? Apparently, it’s a bit complicated.”

Yu Gangan smiled and nodded her head, “OK, I’ll be your assistant today.”

Elder Huang’s assistant was familiar with Yu Gangan, so he immediately handed the medicine chest to her, “Then, we will have to trouble you, Dr. Yu. The car is already waiting outside.”
