Chapter 601 - Speaking From A Place Of Hurt
It was a sign of disrespect for Jia Li to leave when the two families were still discussing, but nobody present, took it that way.
They knew how hurt Jia Li was because of this life-changing news. Imagine finding out that the man who has always loved, cared, provided, and protected you since birth was not your biological father, after 25 years of your life? Nobody would take this news lightly, and so the reason Jia Li was pardoned.
"Hua, go and comfort Li girl, leave the rest of the discussion for us to settle." Grandfather Fu said as he waved him away.
As Fu Hua left, the members of the Fu family and the Huang family talked sadly about the matter. But Old Mr. Huang assured everyone that he will make sure to find out the identity of Jia Li's birth father.
He also laid out the suspect he had in mind and talked about paying the Guang family a visit as soon as they return to the City.
"Will Mr. Guang allow us to seek an audience with him?" Old Mrs. Huang asked as she wiped her tears. She too has been crying for not knowing about most of the challenges her daughter went through before passing on.
She wondered what she had done wrong that she couldn't share important things with her.
Huang Li found someone with whom she was safe with, and so shared everything with him.
Old Mr. Huang assured his wife that he would surely meet with his old friend Mr. Guang no matter how many trials it would take for him to accept to meet him.
Old Mr. Huang hated mysteries, especially when it has to do with his own family. He has to know the reason something happened, or an event took place.
After assuring all of them, the story changed. Nobody cared if Mu Keer was gotten rid of, or enslaved. Their only thought was filled with worry about Jia Li, and how her father's matter will affect her.
No matter how worried they were about her, they can't go to check up on her until later, because Fu Hua had already gone to do that as her husband.
The door to their bedroom was locked when Fu Hua tried to open it. He became more worried about his wife and called out to her, there was no response, but he could hear her crying when he placed his left ear on the door.
"Sweetheart, can you please let me in?" Fu Hua said in a gentle tone.
"No," Jia Li said in a simple heavy tone, which made it easy for Fu Hua to detect how hoarse her voice was.
"I'm worried about you." Fu Hua said to her.
Jia Li didn't care about his feelings at the moment, and so said to him, "There is no need for that. I don't want anyone in my sight for now."
She was speaking from a place of hurt. She was pained, and at the same time, she was trying not to be rude. Fu Hua didn't mind her actions and words because he could understand her feelings.
"But you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm not going to disturb you." Fu Hua said, but when he didn't hear any repulse from her after a few seconds and thought that she wouldn't respond to him again, he heard approaching footsteps, and in the next moment, the door was unlocked.
Jia Li opened the door for him after wiping her tears and Fu Hua quickly walked in and shut the door behind them before taking her hand and leading her to the bed, and there, he embraced her and let her cry to her heart's content.
In this situation, it was good to release your emotions through crying, and Fu Hua believed that it was right for his wife to let out her emotions in that way.
Instead of giving her quotes and telling her not to cry, he let her cry while giving her his shoulder to lean on.
While patting her back, Fu Hua said to her after he had watched her cry for some minutes. "You know, you can not only cry out, but you can also speak out. You can tell me everything you think about this situation without holding anything back. You are angry, pained, and frustrated, that I understand, so she can speak however you want."
Fu Hua felt that crying alone will not help to calm her down, but also speak out her mind to him. He wanted to know what she was thinking, and she did talk about her feelings.
"I love my parents so much, but I can't endure this. Why didn't any of them tell me about this? Don't I deserve to know? This is such a huge secret, imagine the news got out there, what would people think? I feel that I had the right to know about this!"
Fu Hua released a deep breath before trying to talk to her...
"I think that the situation surrounding your conception was not a good one, so telling you about it, would hurt them, and also, they must have wanted to protect you as well. Another point is that your parents may have had in mind to tell you about it later, but you saw how they were killed. If they wanted to tell you about it, you were not there with them, and there was no time for it."
Fu Hua was trying to make her see the situation from different positive angles, because she didn't and never knew her parents' intentions, so it was wrong to conclude about it one-sidedly.
Fu Hua was not judging Jia Li, because he understood she was speaking from a place of hurt, and luckily, she understood him quickly. She didn't try to argue with him but reasoned in that direction.
No good parents would want their children to go through a traumatic experience, and to Jia Li's parents, they thought the same.. They felt that not telling their daughter about her birth secret, would be a way of protecting her.
