“Lu Bro, Buggy asked me to put the money on your card.”
Little Thief had completed his quest and was drawing it to a close.
“You guys can spend it. Just make sure you look after the school I’ve sponsored.”
Lu Li had not been short of money recently, so it was better to support Buggy’s career.
In reality, Buggy was already the godfather of the Common District, and all the gangsters were part of the same mob. However, all these players were now playing the game, and it was supported officially as they weren’t causing trouble in the real world.
They were considered to be on the road to reformation.
In the game, they were developing an intelligence agency that they intended to spread to all corners of Dawn.
Clubs were generally reluctant to recruit these Common District gangsters as they thought they would lower their overall quality. Even if they recruited them, they would give them boring tasks, like being a Gold Collection member. These gangsters were generally not suited for those jobs and were better suited for doing things that ordinary people wouldn’t do.
These players had been brought into the game by Lu Li. Because of their close relation to him, their strength was drawn from him.
Obviously, this was a special kind of investment. Lu Li wasn’t just asking them to work for him. Lu Li also couldn’t just ask them to operate the organisation out of their own pockets because they were already friends. However, if this relationship was taken for granted, then they would have a problem.
When Little Thief heard that Lu Li was giving them the five million dollars, he choked.
However, Little Thief was still Buggy’s little brother, and he had been trained well, so he still reacted quickly and said, “Lu Bro, I don’t want to make this decision on my own. I will ask Buggy about it, but we didn’t even do anything. It’s not right for us to take this money…”
“Then you can just take two million. Use it to repair the house you’re living in. Does it still leak when it rains?”
The more Lu Li thought about it, the more he realized it was actually quite a bit of money.
The place where these punks used to live was an abandoned warehouse. It was quite spacious, but the building was in quite poor condition. Although it was often repaired, it would leak during the monsoon season.
“It doesn’t leak anymore. We changed the top a few days ago when it rained!”
Little Thief was touched. He didn’t expect that Lu Bro, someone who had left for so long, would still remember that their house leaked. If it wasn’t for Lu Bro, they would have probably been freezing in the rain.
“Go back and tell Buggy I’m giving you two million. Give the rest of me. I’m too lazy to discuss it with him,” Lu Li said as he waved his hand and left.
While talking to Little Thief, Lu Li had already roughly looked at the equipment that he had picked up. Apart from the Dark Gold and Gold items that were given to Jade Flower Lover, the rest of the equipment had belonged to Glory Capital.
There were four Epic items!
Even so, Lu Li didn’t feel the joy of a harvest as his heart was heavy.
He had a total of eleven items which included the four Epic items. In addition to Sorrowless and White Westhill, he had also found two Epic items from two other players. A rough calculation of two Epics out of nine items was a probability that was slightly higher than 20%.
Square Root 3, Moonlight and Cat Dad had been summoned by Lu Li.
Moonlight was an old-fashioned player and didn’t pay much attention to the industry but he still knew more than Lu Li. Cat Dad knew a little bit about everything and Square root 3 was an important executive decision maker that had a thorough understanding of the current trends.
“These must have been from players. They all have gems inserted,” Moonlight observed just from his initial glance.
If Lu Li had acquired these items from a Boss, he wouldn’t have strengthened them and placed in gems. With Lu Li’s current collection of gems and Strengthening Stones, there was no way he could have done it for all eleven items.
As such, Lu Li took the time to explained what had happened today.
“Wow, I’m jealous,” Cat Dad said as he placed his hands on his forehead.
“Lu Li, you… whatever. As long as you’re happy.”
Moonlight had a more complicated reaction. He was more accustomed to a front-on fight and couldn’t accept such an underhanded fighting tactic, but he still didn’t look down on Lu Li.
“How beautiful…how truly remarkable…” Square Root 3’s mumbled as he stared at Lu Li telling the story.
“This is a classic strategy. If it was discovered, it probably would be listed in the annual list of strategies. Two great clubs being used to fight and weaken each other. What are you unhappy about?” Cat Dad couldn’t quite understand why he was there.
In his younger years, he had wanted to excel in a similar way, but unfortunately, he lacked the character and intellect to do so.
At first glance, Lu Li seemed harmless, but he was actually ruthless. The most impressive thing about what he had just done was that no one knew he did it, and he even took a 5 million dollar payout from Blood Red War Flag.
“Do you think that 4 Epics out of 11 items is too high of a ratio? Even if Sorrowless and White Westhill’s items are removed, it’s still more than 20% Epic items for the Core Elites,” Lu Li said anxiously.
When Lu Li said those words, the other three looked at each other.
The probability of how the equipment was dropped was quite mysterious. The Game Company had not given any official statements about it, but there was no doubt that the item dropped didn’t necessarily have to be the best item. This could mean that the Elite players of Glory Capital were carrying more than one pieces of Epic item each.
Could Ruling Sword achieve such a standard?
Of course not!
Ruling Sword only had a few Epic items on a few players. Even Lu Li was still using some Gold equipment, let alone his Dark Gold equipment.
If Lu Li died, he would have to be very unlucky to drop an Epic item. However, both White Westhill and Sorrowless dropped Epic items, so Lu Li had to wonder if they were only carrying Epic items.
“Surely it’s not that bad.” Square Root 3 just couldn’t believe it.
“But it’s not impossible. If they had enough money, it could be done, right Lighty?” Cat Dad asked with a look of dignity.
“It depends on how much they are willing to pay. After all, there are so many players in Glory Capital,” Moonlight nodded and said with some certainty. “In the past, such things would often happen. A good outcome for a club is priceless, so if Glory Capital really wanted to win this time, they could have spent a lot of money for it. ”
For example, if they wanted to find as many 10% Level Reduction gems as they could, Ruling Sword’s 60,000 combat players meant that they had a decent chance of finding 60 reasonably quickly.
For Glory Capital, these could be supplied by the overwhelming number of players in the guild. Even if they wanted level 60 Epic items, as long as they had the manpower to farm the equipment, there were plenty of Bosses in Dawn that could supply them.
“The recent competition for Wild Bosses has been very intense,” Square Root 3 sighed.
“The matter of levels might also be an issue. Fortunately, you have interrupted this levelling location. Otherwise, they might have just surpassed us all,” Cat Dad said thankfully. “Let’s not talk about the equipment for now; it’s not something we can solve without copious amounts of money anyway. We will focus on the levels – for example, Moonlight, your level is too low.”
Moonlight had only recently reached level 55. If his opponent was level 57 or even 58, then the System enforced buffs would render him completely obsolete.
“For equipment, 3 Bro should organise some players to go fight some Bosses. I will give you some information about the Bosses later. As for the levels, I recently discovered a quick way to level up, so organise some players to try that too,” Lu Li quickly came to a decision.
It was time to make use of a bug so they could start levelling as quickly as they could.
