Chapter 459 - Plan B Continued
At the camp gate, four dismembered roach corpses welcomed the wizard's caravan.
The torrential downpour had wiped away all the blood, leaving several limbs and torsos out in the open for all to see.
The Wizards stood in place, looking at the corpses from afar with many thoughts going through their minds. A couple of hundred meters away from them Dai Zhi's group emerged out of the darkness and saw the roaches standing idly by in front of them.
Dai Zhi squinted his eyes and a red light streaked past his pupils. The scenes of the Wizards at the front and then the camp gate flashed past them, everything showing as clearly as day. He might as well be there himself. The darkness could do little to impede his vision at this point.
"This is it, the camp's at the front," he murmured.
"So we attack?" Micha inquired with clenched fists.
"Yes but....something's wrong..."
Aer stepped forward decked out in his heavy armor from head to toe, "Is it a trap?" his voice came from behind the helmet.
Dai Zhi shook his head once, "Not sure. It seems we're not the first ones to come here. Looks like someone already attacked the camp. We must hurry, it could be the locals."
"Copy that," Aer's excited voice came from the silver and bronze armor as he walked five steps before stopping.
The rainfall suddenly became even louder, every drop sounding like the beating of a drum.
He lightly bent his knees and pushed.
"Charge of a Thousand Lions!"
A spider-web like crack spread out beneath his feet and the hulking armor that was almost 2 meters tall disappeared.
Contrary to his size, Aer moved so quickly that the curtain of rain split apart.
Faint roars of lions echoed in the surrounding. He covered the distance of 200 meters in a heartbeat and appeared at the periphery of the caravan.
The first Wizard, which was larger of the two with combed back horns snapped his head back and slammed the bone staff down on to the ground.
*Bzzt*
The ground vibrated and a large piece of earth erupted from below and formed a wall instantly, right in front of Aer's charge.
Sharp spikes came out from the wall, glowing with a dark yellow luster in the night.
Aer's body twisted when he was less than 5 meters away from the wall and his shield slammed into the spikes (lion) headfirst. (Because his shield is in the shape of a lion's face.)
*BOOOM*
An explosion sounded and a shockwave sent water and mud flying everywhere but the wall stood standing.
The roaches finally reacted and quickly formed a tight square formation around the metal platform where the human prisoners were shaken awake by the noise.
The horned wizard looked towards the smaller wizard and made some noise that sounded like the ripping of paper and hissing at once before floating higher up in the air.
He stopped upon reaching a distance of 10 meters, hovering there while clutching the bone staff in his three-fingered hand. A faint yellow ripple of energy was constantly being released from the staff which slowly fell down.
The second wizard didn't stand idly by while this was happening.
He bent down and sat on the ground with crossed legs. He placed his hands on the ground in front of him while muttering in its own strange language.
Pitch black veins started appearing on the ground where he was sitting. They started spreading out in a star-shaped pattern and within seconds had formed swirling symbols every few feet along the five main veins.
The ground cracked and from every swirling symbol, a strange humanoid creature was 'born'.
It had been less than 10 seconds since Aer had charged over but the second wizard had already 'summoned' more than 100 of these creatures.
They had pale white bodies with sharp blades for hands and talons for feet. Their head only had a small sharp mouth while the rest was covered by tumorous outgrowths.
And their quantity was only increasing by the second, some big and some small.
*BANG*
*BANG*
*BANG*
The wall shook over and over again, becoming thinner with every clash until finally, it broke into small pieces.
Behind the wall appeared a small army of cultivators, completely blocking the only way out of the valley.
Aer was at the front while Nel stood on the left side on top of a small rock with no intention of joining the fight. Her hands were glowing with a blue light. She waved them around once a small barrier appeared around every single cultivator present.
The Wizard was looked down at them with a grave expression on his twisted face but suddenly his body jolted backwards.
A blood-red sword 1..5 meters long tore through the rain, aiming at his neck.
