Chapter 376 - Cornelia Continued
"M-Master!" Ensis's expression turned ugly as he quickly put up a barrier around himself and Hao Xuan to shield him from the continuous Spiritual attacks coming towards them, but it was no good. They passed right through his barrier.
"ARGH!" a second and third ripple came out of Hao Xuan's body and tore through the barrier Ensis had put up. It directly destroyed the incoming Spiritual attacks and attacked everything in his immediate surroundings, including Ensis and Ryfon.
"Oh god, Cornelia help him! You did this!" Ryfon shouted while continuously moving further and further back.
With his shout, the Spiritual attacks halted but Hao Xuan wasn't able to control himself anymore. He was surrounded by a pure white light that had encompassed him completely and was now slowly spreading outwards.
A high pitched buzzing sound came from the front and a silhouette approached Hao Xuan from above.
"Initiate Defensive measures, suppress and seal him completely. Authorization Omega!" she said in a loud voice.
"Authorization confirmed," a feminine voice replied and a gigantic blue formation lit up under Hao Xuan's feet. It released numerous sigils that connected with one another and formed a dark blue chain.
The chain quickly surrounded the expanding sphere of light and stopped its advance, but could do nothing else.
The silhouette floating a few meters away from him frowned and spoke once more, "Again. His soul power is too strong. Keep increasing power output by a factor of 50 until the seal is complete."
"Yes, mistress."
Two more streams of sigils released from the formation as it started spinning faster and faster. The sigils turned into two more chains joined the first chain in surrounding the sphere of white light.
The sphere's size reduced by half but stopped once again. More sigils were released and the process repeated over and over again until there were 13 chains around Hao Xuan's body.
The white light was forced back into Hao Xuan's body and his eyes returned to normal. The ground in a radius of 10 meters around him was turned to dust and he was currently sitting on a golden barrier.
*Huff*Huff*
Hao Xuan raised his sweat-covered head with some effort and met the silhouette's gaze.
"What...the F*CK is wrong with you people?! Why can't you be normal? Who attacks like that?!" he yelled.
The silhouette descended and landed on the ground. She waved her hand and the fog surrounding her vanished, revealing her actual figure.
It was a very pretty, innocent-looking girl of about 20 something years of age with dark green hair. She had on a pair of fragile-looking glasses and a white lab coat. Behind her were four semi-transparent wings that occasionally glittered with the seven colors of the rainbow.
Other than looking very pale, having slightly pointed ears, and the golden tattoo of a tiara on her forehead, she looked like a normal human being. She looked a doctor from earth, albeit a very pretty one.
Her brows scrunched up as she looked at the 13 chains that covered Hao Xuan from head to toe. They weren't physical, but more like tattoos that were directly imprinted onto Hao Xuan's skin.
She completely ignored Hao Xuan and instead looked at Ryfon who was hugging a pillar in the distance like a scared cat.
"Why the hell would you bring him here? If I was a second late he could have exploded and killed us all!" she said in a stern voice and apparent displeasure.
Ryfon let go of the pillar seeing as everything was under control and put on an awkward smile.
"Well to be honest I didn't expect you to attack before we could even have a chance to talk. I brought him here to see if you could help. As you can see, he is not very well...haha.."
Cornelia looked back towards Hao Xuan as Ensis walked over and helped him stand back up. He then glared at Cornelia with clear hostility.
Hao Xuan also stared daggers at the girl before silently turning around. He looked at Ryfon and spoke out loud, "Take me back. I don't know what you're playing at, but I won't be part of it. Find someone else to amuse yourself with. I've had enough."
Cornelia's expression wavered upon hearing that and her wings flapped and she appeared right in front of Hao Xuan, blocking his path. To Hao Xuan's surprise, her stern expression was replaced by a genial smile.
"S-Stop, please. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. It's just that bastard brings out the worst in me. Please, allow me to help if I can. Your condition is really not good and you should not be out in the world like this. You could not only hurt yourself but the people around you as well," she pleaded with a low voice.
Hao Xuan saw the look of genuine concern in her eyes and a deep frown appeared on his face as he looked over at Ryfon.
"You asshole, you used me! This girl couldn't hurt a damn fly. You knew she would attack you at first glance and will have no choice but to help me after what she did," he said through Spirit sense.
Ryfon's already awkward smile got even more awkward, something Hao Xuan didn't think was possible.
"I'm sorry, it was the only way. She is a healer and a pacifist. She would never hurt anyone on purpose, but she would not forgive me either. This was the only way."
"YOU USED ME!"
"It worked out in the end and no one got hu-"
"YOU.USED.ME!" Hao Xuan was about to burst open with anger until he heard Cornelia's voice again.
"Please, I promise I won't do anything bad again, let me help you," her expression was as pure as it could get. She wanted nothing else than to help Hao Xuan out right now and would even pay him to do so if he asked.
Hao Xuan gritted his teeth and turned away from Ryfon as just looking at his face alone was pissing him off to no end.
"Then, I'm counting on you."
"Thank you!" Cornelia smiled as if she had just received the best present ever.
She waved her hand and several silhouettes came flying over from a distance.
"Help the gentleman to the main lab.. I'll be there in a moment."
