“Mommy, the steak is yummy, and the ice cream is yummy. The apple pie is yummy.” Li Baobao put the delicious food into her mouth satisfactorily. Mommy is so awesome.
Li Jùnjùn and Li Junjun also ate a lot, their expressions were filled with joy.
The three children had their fill.
Li An’an coaxed them to sleep.
Perhaps the big bed was too comfortable, so she fell asleep almost immediately.
Early morning.
Li An’an was shaken awake by Li Junjun. He was already dressed and looking at her nervously.
“Morning, Junjun.” Her son’s rosy face looked so handsome even when he’d just woken up.
Li Junjun looked solemn as he continued, “Mommy, there’s a man calling for you outside. He’s been shouting for one minute and forty seconds. If you don’t open the door, he’s going to force his way in.”
Li An’an jumped up from the bed.
“Mommy, I’m not done sleeping.” Li Baobao turned over and continued sleeping.
Chu Yichen stood outside with an unfriendly expression, with the hotel manager behind him.
He shouted for a minute, but there was no response from inside.
“Open the door.”
The manager was about to open the door with the spare card key.
Li An’an rushed from the bed to the door.
“Don’t come in. I’m awake. I’ll come out immediately after changing!”
Chu Yichen asked the manager to leave.
“Are you deliberately keeping the door closed because you’re worried that I’ll do something to you? Don’t worry, the way you look, I’m not the least bit interested.”
“It’s not that. I was really too tired out yesterday so I didn’t hear you at all. Now I’m awake. Give me a moment to change. I’ll be right out.”
Li An’an was most anxious. That was the end of her. Why did Chu Yichen come here? What if he saw the three children?
“I expect to be let in in one minute!” Chu Yichen was getting impatient waiting outside the door. Did she think he had so much free time, leaving a bunch of people behind in the office to come and see her!
Without another word, Li An’an picked up Li Baobao, who was still in a daze, and stuffed her into the wardrobe. Li Junjun had already woken Jùnjùn up, and the two children sensibly hid under the bed.
At this point, the door flew open. Chu Yichen appeared at the doorway, bearing an icy expression. “Are you guilt-stricken?”
Li An’an laughed dryly. “No, it’s just that I made a small mess in the room yesterday. I was just embarrassed.” She pretended to tidy up the sheets so that her lie was not exposed. The three children had tossed and turned in their sleep and the bed was really messy.
Chu Yichen walked around the room, from the bedroom to the bathroom to the small living room.
It was as if he was looking for someone to confirm that she wasn’t lying.
Li An’an’s heart almost jumped out of her chest.
She wasn’t worried about Jùnjùn and Junjun. However Baobao was in the wardrobe. She was in a daze and if she suddenly made a sound, that would be the end of them.
Noticing her nervousness, Chu Yichen sat down on the sofa in the suite.
“Mr. Chu, do you have something to say to me? Then say it quickly then. I ought to be going to work. If I don’t leave now, I won’t be able to prepare delicious food for you in the afternoon!”
Chu Yichen, on the other hand, was not in a hurry at all. He slowly dealt with some work matters on his phone.
Just as Li An’an’s heart was about to jump out of her chest, Chu Yichen’s phone rang.
After picking up the call, Chu Yichen got onto his feet and without a word, went away with his bodyguards , leaving behind a room full of cold air.
Li An’an hurriedly went to shut the door.
She opened the wardrobe and carried Li Baobao out.
“Jùnjùn, Junjun, you may come out.”
Li Jùnjùn and Li Junjun crawled out from under the bed.
“Mommy did that just now because I was worried that we’d run into bad people, you know? Mommy did it to protect you.”
Li An’an tried her best to explain, but she didn’t know if the kids would believe her.
Jùnjùn and Junjun nodded. “Mommy, we understand.”
“Uh huh, Mommy, we won’t be found.”
Li An’an was glad that her son gave her that understanding, but she also felt that something was amiss.
Sigh, she was really worried. Baobao was fine, the child resembled her. Jùnjùn and Junjun however, were really too similar to Chu Yichen. Especially Junjun, who had been very imposing from when he was young. It was easy to tell.
“Mommy will take you all to school. You’re going to be late.” Li An’an took out three cartoon masks from her bag and put them on for the kids. She had bought them yesterday, just in case.. Now they’d come in handy! How smart of her!
