Chapter 1256: It’s Just Me

Even though Jiang Fei had already been giving “leeway” to his enemies, the American and European pilots weren’t able to play in the game at all. In just ten minutes, all 754 fighter jets had been shot down!
“Dammit!” the President of the United States of America roared as he slammed his palms against the mahogany table in the oval room. The other great men of power were sitting in the same room sulking and frowning over the same matter. They had arranged the attack formations in three waves. The first 754 fighter jets were just the first wave and they had lost every single bird in the air in just ten minutes. The second and third waves of attack were canceled immediately to prevent further loss.
“Activate all available radar systems! I do not believe we cannot track them down!” the President ordered.
While the western countries were panicking over this matter, the Chinese leaders were also sitting in the forbidden city’s meeting room to discuss about this matter. Even though they were not attacked, the invasion of a hostile alien species was not something to be taken lightly. Any foreign threat, especially when it was of alien origin, was not something that one would have had a contingency plan made for. If the aliens were done with America and Europe, would they come for China? Would they be left alone?
Still, even though the aliens were clearly hostile toward Americans and Europeans, the Chinese military was ordered not to take any action against them. They had first-hand seen how they attacked. If the American and European’s coalition army could not hold their own, what about China?
After much stress and frustration, every leader of China was relieved when Jiang Fei himself appeared in the military installation close to the capital of China.
…
With Braveheart fully under his command, Jiang Fei was able to utilize its teleportation function whenever he felt like it. Instead of troubling Ariel every now and then, all he needed to do now was call for 0541 and have him teleport him anywhere in the world faster and with great efficiency.
“Mr. Jiang. This is military grounds. Civilians are not to proceed further,” said a Major. It was a coincidence that he knew Jiang Fei.
“You know who I am? Good. Please tell your superiors that I am here,” said Jiang Fei. To be fair, he was not interested in following the formalities. If he were to barge in, no one in the facility would be able to stop him. Even so, since a Major had purposely come up to him, it was best to not make any trouble and play along nicely.
“Sure. Wait here for a bit, if you don’t mind,” said the Major as he ran across the installation to inform his superior about Jiang Fei’s arrival. Five minutes later, the Major returned to the entrance.
“Please come in. The others are already waiting eagerly for you,” said the Major.
When news about Jiang Fei’s arrival reached the ears of the higher-ups, the entire chain of command was relieved. They were seeking explanation for the unknown alien drones. Jiang Fei was perhaps the only person they knew who could shed some light on the matter since he was the person who had access to some of the alien technology. Although it was not as advanced as the drones, it was still better than the best Earth-base tech.
With that thought in mind, they wanted no one else but Jiang Fei to collaborate with in order to protect China. Even if he could not provide more advanced tech, he still had the backing of the martial art alliance. Perhaps they wouldn’t sit idly by and let the aliens attack their homeland. They would be the last line of defense if the military was completely useless against the aliens.
“Jiang Fei! You don’t know how relieved I am to see you again! We have been trying to contact you but alas, we got nothing!” said Yang Xiao. He was ranked the highest in the military chain of command. When China was attacked by America and Europe, they had already tried contacting Jiang Fei but failed as he was captured in Braveheart by Akatziris, and the martial artists had not been cooperative with the military.
“I was… a little tied up,” said Jiang Fei, playing on words. He did not bother to explain how he got himself trapped in an alien spaceship since their feeble minds would not be able to handle the truth.
“Well, let us head straight to the matter here. Jiang Fei, you should know about the alien drones that had attacked—”
Yang Xiao was immediately interrupted when he mentioned the drones.
“General Yang, you need not worry about them. The drones are mine. They will not be a threat to China,” said Jiang Fei,patting him on his back. The reason he came to the military installation was to inform them about the drones. With that information out, everyone, including Yang Xiao, had their mouths agape.
“Jiang Fei? What on earth do you mean? Are you saying that all those mysterious drones are yours?” Yang Xiao could not believe the words he just said aloud.
“Yeah. I didn’t know we were under attack when I left for a few days. I made sure to teach those insolent fools to never disturb my homeland again!” Jiang Fei scoffed nonchalantly. Yang Xiao and the other officials had their ears wide open.
China was Jiang Fei’s homeland and if anyone were to intrude into his country, be it America, Europe, or anyone else, they would be treated harshly with extreme prejudice. That was his original intent, his original message. However, Yang Xiao and the other officials had interpreted it differently. If a man had an army of powerful drones capable of destroying not only a fleet of ships but also 754 fighter jets, would he stop there?
Yang Xiao and the others did not believe that if one were to possess the aforementioned force, one would stop at just defending one’s nation. Ambition and desire go hand in hand. Jiang Fei might one day realize that he had the power to dominate the world. It was only a matter of time and him realizing that he would want to take action!
In all honesty, Yang Xiao and the others were overthinking it. Jiang Fei was never the kind to be a ruler. Even when he was playing Dawn Break, he merely played with the sole intention to enjoy. Sure, he became a guild master and was managing it for a while. But like a cup of hot water, his passion had soon dissipated. How could he have the urge to rule over Earth if he was already too lazy to manage his own guild?
Right now, Yang Xiao and the others were underestimating Jiang Fei’s capability by a long shot. They thought he only had the fleet of drones. While they were more than enough to take control of other nations and even the world, they did not know about Braveheart. If they did, they would be worried about the entire Solar System. If Jiang Fei were to act, Earth and the entire Solar System would be torn apart in just two solar periods. If Jiang Fei was ambitious, with Braveheart in hand, he wouldn’t even look at Earth.
It was like the children’s story about a young boy who became the leader of the state. After struggling and working earnestly for years, the boy became a national leader. One day, he returned home and tried to take care of the needs of the villagers, but they had no idea who he was and were worried that he might want to compete with the village head!
“I’m done here. I came here to inform you about the drones. That is all,” said Jiang Fei. He then left the military installation, leaving Yang Xiao and the other officials dumbfounded and slightly worried.
The deed was done but there was still more to look after. He had destroyed all nautical vessels and 754 fighter jets belonging to the coalition army of both America and Europe. He could go on and try to fight on land, but after having Braveheart, Jiang Fei could not be bothered about earthly militants. Destroying those military assets was just a way for him to vent his rage.
“Let’s head back. We still have a base to fix and my parents to welcome home,” said Jiang Fei to the girls who accompanied him to the military installation. Even though Braveheart was the safest place to be at, his parents were only normal human beings. Holding them on Braveheart with literally nothing to do would be a little too cruel.
