Take My Breath Away

Chapter 661 - Too Naive

Wesley sat Blair on the toilet seat. Her face flamed with embarrassment. She was wearing the hospital pants. Her injured hands were close to useless and she couldn't take them off by herself. How was she supposed to pee with her pants on? By now, Wesley also realized the problem. He and Blair looked at each other. The air was thick with awkwardness.

"Um... Maybe I should send for the nurse," she remarked quietly, breaking the silence.

Wesley thought it was a good idea. But then his eyes landed on her bandaged feet. It occurred to him that one nurse wouldn't be enough to help her out in that situation. At least two nurses were needed—one to help her with her clothes and the other to support her.

But he could do both by himself.

He quickly made up his mind. He held her with one arm and lifted her a little to make sure that her feet were off the floor. Without saying anything to her, he started to take off her pants with the other hand.

Blair was too shocked and embarrassed to utter a single word.

A few minutes later, she was carried out of the bathroom, her face on fire.

After placing her gently on the bed, Wesley went back to the bathroom. When he walked back into the room, he turned the lights off. Blair thought he was leaving, but instead, he sat on the bed.

He took off his boots, lifted the blanket, and slid into the hospital bed.

'What's he doing? Is he spending the night here?' Blair wondered, her eyes wide.

In the dim light streaming through the window, she could see his tanned profile.

"Wesley?" she called, poking his strong arm with her pinkie.

"Yes?" he responded. Even lying in bed, he looked serious and stern. Everything about him was military.

"The nurse said that visitors are not allowed to spend the night in the ward. Orion was asked to leave," she reminded him. She didn't want Wesley to be asked to leave too. He was a military officer after all. It would be embarrassing if he were to be thrown out.

"I'm not a visitor. I'm a patient."

'Oh, right. He is hospitalized here too, ' Blair thought, sighing. 'But, wait...' Something dawned on her.

"When your mom and I were taking care of you in the ward, we had spent the night, and no one said anything about it. Why is it not allowed now?"

Wesley didn't answer.

Blair poked him again. "Do you know why? Is it a new rule?" she prodded.

"Yes, I do. And no, it isn't."

"Then why?"

"I asked the nurse to do it," Wesley answered honestly. He never lied.

"Do what?" Maybe too much blood loss had damaged her IQ. She still hadn't realized what he was talking about.

"I asked the nurse to tell your friend that he couldn't stay here for the night," he replied.

That took Blair aback. 'He sent Orion away?' she thought, shocked by his outright honesty.

"Why did you do that?"

"Are you going to accept him as your boyfriend?"

"No, I'm not," she answered. She didn't love Orion. She couldn't force herself to be with someone she didn't love.

"Then what if he tried something inappropriate in the middle of the night? You're still very weak. Do you think you would be able to fend him off if that happened?"

Blair hadn't thought of that. For a brief moment, she was bereft of words. "Orion isn't that kind of guy. Speaking of which, what about you? What if you try something in the middle of the night? You are even stronger than Orion. How am I supposed to fight you?" she retorted at length.

Wesley was a martial arts maestro. She couldn't fight him and win in her best condition, let alone while she was bedridden.

"I won't do anything," he asserted.

His firm tone cut her like a sharpened knife. They had slept in the same bed more than once, but they hadn't had sex yet. "Do you find me unattractive?" He wasn't gay; neither was he impotent. So, this was the only explanation she could think of.

Wesley remained silent.

Blair clenched her teeth as she waited for his reply. When he said nothing, she decided to provoke him. "Wow, you're such a pathetic guy."

"Huh?" 'Pathetic?' he thought angrily. This was the first time someone had spoken of him like that.

"You're rich and powerful. That's true. But, so what? You may lose your life any minute. You are almost thirty, but you've never been with a woman. And to think about it, you may actually die single. Other rich guys like you have probably had a dozen women in their lives already. You, on the other hand, may never know what it is like to sleep with a woman. Isn't that pathetic?"

Wesley clenched his teeth, but kept his silence.

Blair went on, "I may be willing to make some sacrifice tonight and help you find out what a woman feels like. I don't want you to die with any regrets." With that, she rolled over, put her hand on his chest and tapped it with her pinkie.

Wesley took a few deep breaths to calm himself down. "I don't live for women. I'm not interested in knowing what they feel like either," he declared, grinding his teeth. 'She is injured, and still doesn't behave. This woman needs a good lesson, ' he thought.

"I see. But I feel bad for you. It's been a long time since you have asked me to help you release your sexual urges. You must be pretty horny right now, huh?" she asked in a luring tone. 'You won't do anything, is it? We'll see about that, ' she thought with a hidden smirk.

All those images of her replayed in his head like a spectacular movie. When he spoke again, his voice was husky. "I'm not. Are you going to sleep or not? If not, I'm leaving."

"I slept too much during the day. I'm not sleepy."

Wesley took another deep breath. "It sounds like you are not afraid of sleeping alone at all." He got up from the bed.

"Hey! Wait!" She pulled back his shirt and held on to it tightly. "If you leave, I'll call Orion," she threatened.

But the threat didn't work. Wesley bent forward to put on his boots.

Blair grew anxious. She remembered that playing the hardball never worked on Wesley. So, she changed her tactics. "If you really want to go, I won't stop you. Neither will I call Orion. I deserve to be alone. No one cares about me anyway."

His body froze for a second. After a while, he lay back on the bed. Blair grinned in the dark triumphantly.

Wesley's breathing gradually steadied. But Blair rolled over towards him again. She put her arm around his waist and snuggled closer towards him. Wesley felt like he was about to lose the last bit of his self-control. "Behave yourself!" he said.

"Oh, okay!" she said. But she didn't. She kept moving and holding and touching him. "Are you seriously not going to take up my offer?" she asked.

Wesley's body went stiff. "Don't think I'm not aware that you're doing this on purpose," he warned her without looking at her. 'She is doing this just to torture me. She's probably thinking that with her hands and feet injured, I won't be able to make her do stuff.'

Although he had seen through her, Blair didn't feel embarrassed. "You're not interested in women, right? So, what are you worried about?" she asked with a smirk. 'I'm injured now. I can't help him the way I did last time. Let him suffer, ' she laughed inwardly.

All of a sudden, she felt his hand on her lips. "You're being too naive," he said in a low voice. 'She has so many things to learn yet, ' he mused.

"What do you mean?" she asked him.

There was a sinister gleam in his eyes. With his hand still on her lips, he finally turned to her and whispered, "If you don't go to sleep right now, I'll teach you all the different, interesting things that a woman and a man can do together in bed."

Wesley was a man of his word. Blair held her breath as she stared into his dark eyes.

"Wh...what things?" she stuttered, curious, afraid and excited. He continued to guide his hands on her lips. She felt turned on. But he didn't kiss her. What was he trying to do?

He gave a wicked smile and asked, "Care to give it a try?"
