Chapter 943: Ten Million Grade 7 Origin Crystals Credited
‘Hosu?!’ Xia Fei was startled as he said this to himself.
As with everything in this universe, there could be no construction without destruction. Construction after destruction to become unbeatable! These words had once crossed Radix’s lips and affected Xia Fei greatly. It was under the encouragement of this saying that Xia Fei gazed upon the simplified version of the Beast Spirit Codex and devoted himself to mastering the full version of the Beast Spirit Codex completely, achieving the great cause of controlling beasts.
Now that the grand ancestor Xia Gucheng had said this line as well, could he have heard it from the powerhouse Hosu, too?
Thinking this, Xia Fei asked, “Where did you hear the saying, ‘There can be no construction without destruction’?”
Xia Gucheng laughed. “It’s a saying from an old friend who has quite the background.”
Xia Fei did not pursue this line of query further. His heart was clouded with suspicion, as he proceeded to follow the grand ancestor Xia Gucheng out from the chamber and back to the study.
“No sense in delaying things; best if you get going. As for that Azure Dragon Soul Meteor, take it as a parting gift from me. I already heard from Guanghai that the Azure Dragon Soul Meteor can only demonstrate its true strength after combining it with your White Tiger Soul Meteor,” Xia Gucheng said very readily.
Xia Fei furrowed his brows. “I’m afraid the impact of what happened at Night Banquet is too great. We even kidnapped Hua Siniang; I’m sure that the ones on top are enraged.”
Xia Gucheng laughed arrogantly. “Enraged? If I were afraid of enraging others, I wouldn’t have given you the freedom to act! The kidnap of Hua Siniang is great! It just so happens that I have this desire to pry her lips open!”
Changing the subject, Xia Gucheng said sotto voce, “Leave these matters to the clan. There’s nothing you need to worry about. Right now, what you must do is take that golden demon chrysalis of yours, including the fastest warship in the universe, The Gemini, and head out to Dark lifeform territory, bringing back what we require!”
Xia Fei gave a firm nod, accepting Xia Gucheng’s request.
“You have the Dark Night Diary in your hands. That guidebook will be quite the help to you,” Xia Gucheng added.
Xia Fei suddenly recalled something. He had emptied out Hua Siniang’s treasury, and there was an uncountable amount of good stuff inside. Keeping them all to himself was not the solution, so he figured that he would be better off exchanging it for cash upfront now.
“Grand ancestor, I have some things I’d like to exchange for high-grade crystals; any idea who I can look for?” Xia Fei asked.
“What things? Take them out and show me,” Xia Gucheng wondered with great curiosity.
Xia Fei handed the spatial ring over to his grand ancestor. This was the ring that he had lifted off Tai Xiaojun’s corpse, approximately fifty thousand cubic meters in size. Though it could not be compared to Xia Fei’s one million cubic meter ring, it was still quite a decent ring.
The fifty thousand cubic meter ring was filled with the wealth from Night Banquet, everything that Hua Siniang had collected was now in Xia Fei’s hands.
Slightly taken aback, Xia Gucheng exclaimed, “These are all yours?”
Xia Fei nodded, and the grand ancestor gave him a pat on his back. “Well done! You’re even more extravagant than this old man here. If you exchange everything you have inside this ring, it will be about three years worth of expenditure for our entire clan! Those common clans won’t even see this level of wealth their entire lives!”
Xia Fei chuckled. “Just a small stash. Feel free to take your pick of if you desire some things, grand ancestor.”
Xia Gucheng shook his head. “Don’t think that I can’t tell that there are plenty of precious collections belonging to the various major clans, from both two peak races, in there. These aren’t items worth revealing, or even you will have trouble explaining how you got them.”
What the grand ancestor had said made a lot of sense. At the end of the day, these were items he had stolen, and the moment they appeared in public, people could easily draw its relation to Hua Siniang; they then would assume that it was the Demon-sealing Fiendish Blade that had attacked the distinguish demoness; that Hua Siniang shared fairly intimate relationship with a founder.
“I understand. I’ll be careful handling these items. I’ll make sure that no one will ever come looking for the Skywing Clan over it,” Xia Fei said resolutely.
Xia Gucheng smiled, a slight curling of the lips that was very similar to the smirk that Xia Fei would show when tempted.
“It’s good that you understand. Everything has to be done with consideration for the bigger picture. Be patient. I, your grand ancestor, will very soon let everyone know why we have this plaque hanging on the study!” Xia Gucheng’s eyes sparkled as he pointed right at the center of the study.
Xia Fei saw that plaque with a statement written on it: ‘Where the fiendish blade points, death to gods and demons alike!’
…
Xia Ke helped exchange all the items Xia Fei had no use for money, and they were all the spoils the latter had looted from before. Of course, those famous and items with history remained in Xia Fei’s possession.
Every clan member who participated in this operation at the Night Banquet received one hundred thousand grade 7 Origin Crystals in their respective accounts. Even if the Skywing Clan were to sit on them, they would still be able to make three percent interest. As for Xia Fei, he had obtained eight hundred sixty of the even more precious grade 8 Origin Crystals! Everyone in the clan was substantially compensated for their efforts.
“We can get grade 8 Origin Crystals at the costly rate of 1:6400. Are you sure that you need so many of them?” Xia Ke asked.
Grade 8 Origin Crystals reserves were rarely found in the entire Law Realm. Despite the 1:6400 rate, it was actually a rate that showed the Skywings plenty of face. Were they obtained through the black market, there might not even be anyone willing to offer a rate of 1:10,000!
“Do it!” Xia Fei was decisive. “I have over ten million grade 6 Origin Crystals and more than two million grade 7 Origin Crystals. It’s only the grade 8 Origin Crystals that I’m lacking. Besides, there are some things that can’t be measured with wealth.”
Xia Ke nodded. “You’re right. There are, of course, reasons as for why grade 8 Origin Crystals are so expensive. There are plenty of benefits to a warrior when using such pure energy, so you’ve really set your sight far here.”
Eight hundred sixty grade 8 Origin Crystals were worth over 5,550,000 grade 8 Origin Crystals. If he included the stockpile of lower grade crystals he had, Xia Fei already had over one hundred million grade 7 Origin Crystals as his net worth! It could be described as a sum that rivaled a nation’s reserve!
…
Hidden Realm, the final stop before Xia Fei’s voyage into the Dark lifeform territory.
Avril and Xiao Yu had already been waiting for him. After hearing the news that he was about to go on a long expedition, these two ladies evidently felt somewhat worried. The relationship Avril shared with Xia Fei was widely known, and though they lacked a certification of marriage, their relationship was all but formalized. Meanwhile, Xiao Yu’s worry was out of concern, almost as if she had already viewed Xia Fei as her rock; Avril had also accepted this close bond they had with each other.
A dinner was held that night. Aside from Avril and Xiao Yu, the three leaders of the Mech Race, as well as everyone from Pinnacle, were all present. Pod rushed to each one, serving them drinks; only Phantom was nowhere to be found.
After some time, he noticed a somewhat shy robot entering the room.
“Oh! You’ve already gotten yourself a new body?” Xia Fei was surprised. He went over to Phantom’s side and threw a playful punch. The hard metal reverberated, numbing Xia Fei’s hand.
“Not bad! Black Crystal Caroe alloy complements with the sturdy Crow metal. This body must have cost quite a lot. It should last him a good while,” Radix said with deep satisfaction. “Though I imparted to Sophie the methodology of Soul Meld, I never thought that she’d go to such an expense for Phantom’s body. It’s of an even higher grade than Warstar!”
No matter the case, Xia Fei was very happy with Phantom’s renewed lease on life. At the very least, Phantom was able to converse with everyone now. In the past, he was all alone besides being able to communicate with Xia Fei and Sophie. Xia Fei had always treated this spirit as a comrade, for having accompanied him the entire time, so even though Phantom was just a literal soul, he still hoped that he would be able to have a good place to call home.
Later that night, what Xia Fei shared with Avril was still as passionate as ever. Just like in the past, Avril did not mention anything about Xia Fei’s impending long voyage and just curled up into his embrace like an obedient kitten.
Xia Fei knew that it was not that Avril did not worry about him; rather, she buried such thoughts deep in her heart, afraid of becoming a burden to him.
There was a type of people that simply could not be made to stay, and Xia Fei was just this sort. Based on the endless trouble he had often found himself in ever since he began his journey, Xia Fei could be said to have been to places everyone went to and those no one even had any knowledge of. Now, he intended to take a trip out into the lair of the Dark lifeforms!
The fact that the Dark lifeforms could claim regions outside of the Law Realm showed that they were formidable, so although Xia Fei had the guidebook, it did not guarantee him a smooth trip, and it was even more impossible to know what might happen to him out there. He was taking an insurmountable risk by going on this voyage.
The next day, Xia Fei went and inspected the superwarship’s, the Titan’s, manufacturing base, as per usual. The shipyard count had surged to an unprecedented one hundred, which also meant that there were a hundred Titans on the production line. In the future, when these superwarships surfaced, they would become very important trump cards of Xia Fei.
The Pinnacle’s big three had heightened the technology level of the Hidden Realm to the highest standard across the known universe after joining it! Under the concerted efforts of everyone on the final blueprint that they had yet to solve, they were slowly removing that secret veil over it.
It was just as Xia Fei had guessed; this final blueprint was a law force defense system!
Utilizing the changes in origin installations, the Titan’s energy shields could further guard against law attacks!
This was an absolutely startling discovery; no wonder the Law Realm refused to allow the Titan superwarships’ existence. The reason was that these humongous warships could resist the assaults of law warriors! The effects of their law powers could essentially be reduced or even completely negated with this technology!
…
Night came. It was the final night of Xia Fei’s stay in the Hidden Realm before he went on a long voyage into the unknown the next day. After spending some intimate time with Avril, Xia Fei had had difficulty sleeping, so he headed to a cultivation chamber all by himself. After all, once someone reached the level he was at, sleep would already become something unnecessary.
Just as he closed the door behind him, a knock was heard.
Xia Fei opened it to find the celestial artificer, Wind Raja. He appeared to have had something on his mind the entire day, almost as if he had something he wished to speak to Xia Fei about but had been keeping to himself until now.
“Grandmaster, is there something you wish to speak of at such a late hour?” Xia Fei asked with a smile.
Wind Raja entered the room and looked around before whispering, “I do have something, but I’m unsure if I should talk about it.”
“Grandmaster, you are well aware of my personality; please speak freely.” Xia Fei invited Wind Raja to have a seat as he brewed a pot of tea. From Wind Raja’s expression and tone, he could tell that he was about to share something of great importance.
“I already deciphered that Thousand Shapes Painting you had given me with the help of the most outstanding quantum computer from Pinnacle Research Station,” Wind Raja calmly stated.
Xia Fei was stunned. The Thousand Shapes Painting was the summary of Celestial Artificer Thousand Mountains’ life experience. It was said that anyone who could decipher it would become the greatest artificer in the entire universe! Someone who would have the most insane artificing skills!
Xia Fei had been going down the path of a protean master the entire time; now that he had reached level 8 in Law of Artificing, the next step would have him becoming the greatest artificer of his time! Therefore, the deciphering of the Thousand Shapes Painting was of utmost importance to Xia Fei!
Xia Fei was invigorated as he asked, “Grandmaster, the deciphering of the painting is great news, but why is it that I feel like you’re greatly burdened by something?”
Wind Raja chuckled bitterly. “The Thousand Shapes Painting was deciphered, but the content I found…”
“What about it?” Xia Fei asked with knitted eyebrows.
“It’s very unorthodox!” Wind Raja’s eyes suddenly shone!
