Mother Gu was short of screaming when she got to the capital city and haze part. Even Gu Wushuang was startled.
The Mother Gu in the past had always been very pampered and known to be elegant and always mindful of her image.
Since when had she ever talked loudly in public?
Never mind about taking this tone to her daughter who had heart problem and couldn’t handle any kind of stimulations.
This was the first time Gu Wushuang saw her mother like this.
She couldn’t help but felt a visceral kind of resentfulness toward her.

She paused for a little and lowered her head.

She put on an even though I-have-been-abandoned-but-I-fight-hard-and-stand-on-my-own-two-feetlook. Her lips trembling a little, she looked particularly pitiful.
Any time in the past, that would for sure have brought tears and heartache to Mother Gu.
Nevertheless, Mother Gu was no longer that well sheltered and ignorant woman that she once was.
Over the last six months, she had been abandoned by her husband, went back to her maiden family and fought for her share of the of the family fortunate, stood up to her brother, been ignored by her daughter and her son-in-law. Gu Wushuang wiped away her tears and so happened to missed the impatient look in Mother Gu’s eyes. She put her arm around Mother Gu’s and sat down her with on the couch.
Mother Gu rotated her wrist and held onto Gu Wushuang’s arm. Even Gu Wushuang was startled by Mother Gu’s strength.
“Wushuang, Mommy needs you to loan her 1 million yuan for now.”
Gu Wushuang was taken aback a little.
She had purposefully gone on business trips all over the place and avoided Mother Gu when Mother Gu was soliciting for capital a while back.
“Mommy, I thought your pre-schools had already launched?”
“They are. But now that you are taking care of business yourself, you know how fast advertising can burn through money. I had already spent all the money that I had and still hadn’t seen any return.”
Mother Gu, frowning a little, looked very helpless and worrisome.
“I am just borrowing the money from you for now. I will pay you back next year at the latest.”
Gu Wushuang groaned loudly to herself.
Back when Mother Gu was living in City Shun, she would buy many designer brand products, have some bird nest soup to maintain her health, go to spas. Her expenditure was not low but it was steady month to month.
Who would have thought that one trip back to the Zhang family and she had fallen into the bottomless pit called physical investment!
Without tens and millions, trying to promote any products in a tier 1 city was nothing but a wild dream.
And not a one-time expenditure either. This needs to be followed up on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis!
She may or may not start seeing returns in two to three years.
