Chapter 36
Chapter 36 – Rich, Black Widow (豪门黑寡妇)
The classroom became silent because of Jing Yunzhao’s threatening roar. Some frowned, and some were shocked, but everyone’s expressions were more intense than the last.
Pa! From behind Jing Yunzhao’s seat, the sudden slam of a book dropping on top a desk rang.
“Well said! Jiang Xia, I think you just have too much free time. That’s why you’re trying to get into someone else’s business. Don’t you dare think I didn’t hear anything. Wearing the appearance of the Bodhisattva Guanyin, who are you trying to decieve?! What does Jing Yunzhao going home or not have anything to do with you? You’re lucky you said those things to Jing Yunzhao. If you had said them to me, I wouldn’t even talk reason with you. Do you believe I’d just smack you all the way to Class 2?!” A girl stood up behind them and proclaimed boldly.
(EN: Bodhisattva Guanyin is the Goddess of Compassion, Mercy, and Kindness.)
Jing Yunzhao was slightly surprised as she turned her head. Looking at that girl, Jing Yunzhao wanted to applaud her.
Xiao Haiqing (萧海清)! Even when she was in prison in her past life, Jing Yunzhao had heard a lot about her glorious achievements!
The Xiao Haiqing of the present was only a Physical Education (PE) representative. Her personality was loud and confident. She was a masculine woman, but she was a completely different type of good-looking compared to Su Chu.
Xiao Haiqing’s grades weren’t the best, but they also weren’t bad. She was actually very intelligent. Unfortunately, she liked to place most of her attention on sports rather than devoting herself to her studies.
In Jing Yunzhai’s past life, after she had to quit school to serve the Qiaos, she would sometimes hear about Xiao Haiqing from Qiao Hongye.
Xiao Haiqing didn’t like fake girls. Even though Xiao Haiqing and Qiao Hongye weren’t in the same class, but for some reason, they just didn’t get along. Qiao Hongye was humiliated many times because of her.
Jing Yunzhao knew Qiao Hongye very well. With her personality, she naturally didn’t like to lose. She had definitely contacted some hooligans to deal with Xiao Haiqing in private. However, Xiao Haiqing had some skills, and not only did she escape, she also beat Qiao Hongye into a pulp. Since then, Qiao Hongye was forced to retreat and had to leave Xiao Haiqing alone. She would only curse about Xiao Haiqing at home, seemingly not daring enough to mess with her a second time.
After Jing Yunzhao was jailed, she coincidentally read a newspaper a few days before she died. There was an impressive headshot of Xiao Haiqing on one of the pages. They called her the wealthy, black widow.
They had said that Xiao Haiqing had spent her college days seducing older men. Every time she married over, her husband would die, and she would receive the inheritance. She gradually became a parvenu.
Even though Jing Yunzhao didn’t know Xiao Haijing very well, she knew that she was an upright and unyielding girl. She would never do something like seduce someone.
So regarding that newspaper article, she could only believe half the story.
Whether it was in her past or current life, Jing Yunzhao had a good impression of Xiao Haiqing.
Jing Yunzhao’s eyes flashed with gratitude. She turned to look at Xiao Haiqing and responded, “I’ve learned a lesson. If someone is blind enough to bother me again, I’ll do as you just said!”
“You’re quite the learner! Okay! I’ll cover you from now on!” Xiao Haiqing smirked and reached over to give Jing Yunzhao a high-five, signifying their new friendship.
(Not a note – FH: I’m just imagining her as this female rogue www)
Xiao Haiqing was pretty surprised herself. She had originally thought Jing Yunzhao was born a punching bag, but it wasn’t so. Turns out, hiding underneath that cowardly appearance of hers was a star that was ready to explode!
Jiang Xia’s face became dark.
If he had to pick someone in this class he was the most unwilling, aside from Teacher Jin, it was Xiao Haiqing.
It wasn’t that he was scared of a girl, but… She was just too unreasonable!
When Xiao Haiqing believed that something was right, she would never listen to what others had to say. If they said too much, she would actually send one punch over. Not only that, she would also habitually play dirty. After striking someone, she wouldn’t even admit it. Sometimes, to avoid getting punished, she would punch herself when no one was around to frame someone else. She was damn wily. She had beaten up so many people, and yet she had never been punished for it so far.
