Ye Tianxin could not hear Gu Yancheng but she could see his lips mouthing the words.

He said, “Ye Tianxin, Happy New Year. May all go well with you.”

Ye Tianxin’s heart was pounding fast. She felt as though the blood in her body all went up to her head. Ye Tianxin just stood still, unsure of what to say.

Gu Yancheng sat on the chair, his lips curling into a sinister grin.

Ye Tianxin walked toward Gu Yancheng. She sat in front of him and took up the phone.

He placed the phone on his ear and moved his lips slightly.

“I thought you wouldn’t come,” Gu Yancheng’s voice was hoarse and soft.

Ye Tianxin held on to the phone and took a deep breath. “Gu Yancheng, what are you trying to do?”

“I just want to see you.”

Ye Tianxin laughed and sarcastically said, “I would have thought the person you want to see is your beloved Qingxin. How are you feeling now, Gu Yancheng? The woman you loved so much has forsaken you. I’ve noticed how happy she became after she left for overseas. You’re so pitiful, locked up in prison because of her. How does that feel? I’m curious to know if Lu Qingxin even remembers who you are.”

Gu Yancheng thought of the photos of Lu Qingxin that Ye Tianxin had been sending to him.

There was a photo of her in the gynecologist’s office, waiting to abort his child.

Due to her physical condition, she was not able to abort it.

If she had an abortion, she would not be able to conceive for the rest of her life.

Lu QIngxin had always been ruthless in her ways, yet she chose to keep the child and wait for it to be born.

“I’ve already asked my dad to appeal to the court, Ye Tianxin. You know better than anyone else that I’m not the one who knocked down Grandma.”

Ye Tianxin was certain that once Mr. Gu appealed, a top-notch lawyer would be hired for Gu Qingcheng.

With his influence in the capital, it was possible that Gu Yancheng would be acquitted and possibly released.

Gu Yancheng stretched out his hand and placed it on the glass window. He looked at Ye Tianxin’s face. “Lu Qingxin is not my rightful wife. Are you?”

“I’m not.”

Ye Tianxin stood up.

She stretched out her hand and showed Gu Yancheng the ring on her finger.

“I’m engaged, Gu Yancheng.”

Gu Yancheng felt a sharp pain in his heart as he asked, “Is it Li Qingcang?”

Ye Tianxin replied, “Yes.”

The sinister glint appeared in Gu Yancheng’s eyes again. “Tianxin, Li Qingcang’s fiancee is Ying Yimei.”

“Wow, you know quite a bit.” Ye Tianxin laughed, trying to sound casual. “Gu Yancheng, let me make this clear: I’m Li Qingcang’s wife.” Immediately after saying that, Ye Tianxin turned around and walked toward the door. She did not want to stay in the same room with Gu Yancheng any longer.

Gu Yancheng clenched his fists tightly as a fresh swell of rage rose through him.

He stared hard at Ye Tianxin as she walked away. He smashed his fist onto the glass window in anger.

Ye Tianxin almost ran out of the detention center. By the time she ran into the car, she felt breathless.
