Chapter 1627 1627. Foiled Escape
Even though the others were late in responding, they didn’t stay still for long.
“Keep him busy!” Jeanny exclaimed. She used Beacon of Hope, buffing everyone. Afterward, small runic symbols started appearing around her.
“Nice!” Spring Crown said as he dashed forward. He used Propelling Dash while Red Death used Rogue’s Light Foot.
With the increased movement speed from Light Foot, Red Death’s movement was very fast, but Spring Crown’s Propelling Dash covered the distance faster. He was the first to arrive before Master after Leavemealone was sent flying.
“Your mirror image won’t trick me,” Spring Crown thrust his spear. An energy blast followed his thrust.
Master used his magic shield to block that Ki Blast. Spring Crown’s inhuman perception let him pinpoint the real Master even when those with mana sense were fooled by the confusing images.
Following Spring Crown’s targeting, Red Death used Phase Strike and teleported behind the one Spring Crown attacked. She was just about to deliver her backstab when Master disappeared using Teleportation.
While Spring Crown and Red Death fought Master, Jeanny who was preparing her rune technique sensed something coming behind her. She had no choice but to stop her rune technique and jumped away just as an axe cleaved the ground she was standing on before.
She was surprised to find her attacker to be the prison guard they had killed earlier. Master had used Control the Dead to reanimate the guard’s corpse after he was summoned by the Recall Plate.
Master didn’t call any other summons because most of his summons were still fighting at Messephyria. The ones that were controlled by either Theridan or Jack’s Beast Dominance couldn’t be unsummoned. Those that were not controlled by the enemies, he could summon them again after replenishing the cooldown using Necronomicon. But doing that would cause the earlier summons to vanish.
He didn’t want to decrease the manpower at Messephyria to make the battle here easier. He also thought that he and the reanimate guard were enough to prevent these four from escaping.
Red Death’s mana sense traced Master’s Teleportation spell. She then used the more potent Phase Kill to again appear behind Master, but her backstab failed again. Instead of hitting Master’s back, it clanged with the hard surface of a floating shield.
This floating shield was a level 70 skill from Master’s Valiant Paladin class, Celestial Shield. It conjured a living shield that automatically blocked attacks.
When Red Death was about to follow up with another attack, she sensed an attack coming from below. She quickly jumped as multiple spears thrust out of the ground. This was Master’s spell, Lurking Spear.
The jump got her out of the spears’ reach, but a hell whip snatched her in the air. With his incredible strength, Master pulled the whip, and Red Death was slammed back into the ground. At the same time, Master was casting another spell.
His Telekinesis spell was completed before Spring Crown arrived. His Telekinesis was max-leveled. It could affect five targets. These five targets were Spring Crown, Red Death, Jeanny, Leavemealone, and a runic rope which he threw in Leavemealone’s direction.
Magic Bind didn’t last long. Just as it ended, Leavemealone was again restrained by Master’s telekinesis. At the same time, the runic rope controlled by Master’s Telekinesis came and coiled itself around Leavemealone, binding him.
Jeanny, who was fighting against the dead prison guard, suddenly found herself unable to move due to the telekinesis. The guard’s axe came then, smashing her into the ground.
Red Death was held by Master’s telekinesis, but she could still use a skill. She vanished from her place using Back Shift, appearing again behind Master and freeing herself from the telekinesis’ hold at the same time.
The celestial shield came in between her and Master. She used Diabolic Stab and her weapon’s skill, Demon Tooth, back-to-back. The two skills managed to shatter the celestial shield and even caused Master to stumble, but the damage was greatly mitigated.
Spring Crown vanished from his spot. He appeared behind Master and stabbed. He was using a dagger now. He had used Copy Weapon Skill on Red Death’s Phase Kill earlier. He used it now that he saw the chance. Master couldn’t avoid the attack since he was still unbalanced from Red Death’s assault. The dagger pierced into Master’s side.
Master was still in demon form and was protected by ice armor, so the stab failed to endanger his life.
“Very good, worms!” Master exclaimed. A dark aura exploded from his body. His demon body was enshrouded by ominous light. He had used the Superior Demonic Possession.
At the same time, he cast Flame Wrath. Multiple fireballs empowered by the Superior Demonic Possession shot forth.
Spring Crown changed his weapon to dual swords and used Formless Flowing Sword Style to cut these fireballs. Red Death jumped back to dodge the fireballs while stabbing those she couldn’t avoid.
After Master was stabbed by Spring Crown, his telekinesis ended, so Jeanny was freed. She had beaten the dead guard back but was now busy repelling Master’s fireballs.
“We can’t win. You two hurry and escape. I will hold him down!” Spring Crown exclaimed. Even if one of these three escaped, it would be worth it. It would be difficult for Master to get all the divine treasures together if there were two free ones outside.
Jeanny wasn’t willing to leave Spring Crown and Leavemealone. Red Death didn’t have that moral baggage. She turned and dashed toward the exit.
“None of you leave…!!!” Master exclaimed. His Hell Prison came forth. A dome of black fire encapsulated them all within it.
Red Death tried using Mad Kill. Her flurry of stabs battered the wall of the dome, but it was as if she was stabbing a solid steel wall. If even Eurdrasill had trouble breaking through this Hell Prison, what more of her?
With Master’s demon form and superior demonic possession, he swiftly took down all the three trapped inside this hell prison and bound them using runic ropes.
He gave a sharp stare at Spring Crown who was bound on the floor.
lightsΝοvεl ƈοm “Too bad I failed to free these three, but at least I got you out of the battlefield,” Spring Crown said with his typical smile. “You don’t need me, do you? Why don’t you just kill me?”
“With a higher HP, you will suffer longer tortures,” Master answered with a savage tone. “You will regret ever double-crossing me.”
