Chapter 1430: The great CEO is jealous of his kids.
“Okay.” Pei Ge nodded as she glanced at the man seated on the couch.
Ji Ziming’s features were illuminated by the store lights.
“How’s this one?” He pointed to a white dress next to her. It was adorned with strings of pearls at the waist and had flower embroidery at the hemline—a fusion of eastern and western design.
“It’s not bad; it just seems…”
“Seems what?”
“I think it’s a little long.”
“It’s not.”
The person in charge brought an assistant in uniform over. “Sir, ma’am, I’m stylist Xiao Mei; I’ll be helping madam with her shopping today.”
The man narrowed his eyes as he looked at this stylist. For some reason, she looked familiar.
“Okay. You can pick clothes for her.”
“Okay.” The woman nodded and bowed. She then looked plainly at Pei Ge.
Ji Ziming’s eyes hardened as he looked at this stylist. Did he make a mistake?
“Ma’am has a good eye. This dress is a masterpiece of Ada from Chanel group. It’s called ‘The Magnificent Bride’. I think it’ll fit you well. Would you like to try it?
Pei Ge frowned. Was it the stylist’s job to butter up to customers?
“If madam doesn’t like it, I’ll bring you to try others.”
“I’ll try it.” She took the dress from Xiao Mei. Just as she was about to walk into the changing room, a laugh came from the door.
“I have my eye on that dress.” Qu Jingwan looked at her from the door, unaware of the man seated nearby.
“Miss, th-this dress…” The stylist stammered as she looked at the three people. She was afraid of offending any of them.
“I said I have my eye on it.” She only saw the man, who was seated on the couch with a cold expression, when she went over in her stilettos. “Z-Ziming, yo-you’re here.”
Madam Ji told her that Pei Ge would be shopping today, but the former did not mention that the man would accompany her.
“What a coincidence, Miss Qu!
“Are you here to shop, too?” Pei Ge asked this lady, who had lost her arrogance from a moment ago.
“Yes, what a coincidence,” said the latter while wearing an insincere smile. She wanted to put down Pei Ge today for yesterday’s embarrassment, but unexpectedly, the man was with her. With the two shopping together, she appeared to be the third party in their relationship!
The man got up off the couch. “Let’s go.”
“Where to?” Pei Ge asked with a blank expression, looking at his arm around her waist.
“Somewhere else!”
“Oh, okay.” She nodded obediently as she leaned into his embrace. From the corner of her eye, she saw Qu Jingwan glaring at her.
“Thank you for coming, sir, ma’am!” The staff bid the pair goodbye with a bow.
Qu Jingwan only returned to her senses once the couple was gone, and she stormed off the boutique in anger.
“Manager, which one of those two women is the CEO’s wife?” asked Xiao Mei after the trio left.
“How would I know? I only know that Miss Qu isn’t to be trifled with. That lady has her work cut out for her.”
“That’s the young lady of the Qu family?”
“Yes. How many other Qu families are out there?”
“I thought she’s…”
“She’s what?”
“Nothing. Manager I’m going to work now.”
“Go ahead.”
Looking at her odd actions, the store manager felt that this employee had an inside story, but that had nothing to do with her now. The more she knew, the tougher her life would be, after all.
“I don’t want to shop anymore. You can just buy whatever you think suits me.” Pei Ge told Ji Ziming this when they arrived at the second boutique.
“Are you tired?” The man’s eyes turned warm again, and his arm around the woman loosened.
“A little. I don’t wanna fight with Qu Jingwan, but she seems bent on picking a fight with me.”
“Then, just bring out your feisty persona.”
“That’s not a good idea.”
“It’s fine as long as I think it’s a good idea.”
“…”
“Then, can the great CEO pick out a few pieces of clothes for me? I’ll tell you my sizes—” She made this request to the man as she sat on a nearby couch.
“I know them.” The man did not let her finish speaking.
“…”
“Okay, then. Go ahead; I’ll take a break.”
“Mhm.”
Ji Ziming walked over a clothes rack and picked out some clothes. “These two.” He walked over to another rack. “These three.” He then glanced around the boutique and continued. “Except for these few, I’ll take everything else.”
“What?” The woman sat up straight and gawked at him.
“What’s wrong?” He smiled.
“So many?”
“Yeah.”
“I won’t be able to finish wearing them even if I wear one a day.”
“Then, just wear two a day.” He smiled as he eyed the blushing woman on the couch. “You don’t like this? We can always go to another boutique.”
“No need; no need.” Pei Ge immediately stood up. The staff was already removing the clothes from the racks and putting them into several boxes. She teased, “Sir is definitely rich and generous.”
“I’m always willing to spend money on you,” retorted the man, raising a brow at her. His face was gentle.
“I’m tired; let’s go home. The kids don’t know that I left.”
“What’re you afraid of? Mom’s at home, as well as those caretakers and drivers.”
“It’s not the same.”
“Hmph!”
He finally managed to get this woman out alone, but her thoughts were still elsewhere.
“Let’s go back.”
The man walked toward the door as the staff sent them off.
“Are you… jealous?” asked the woman tentatively.
His face froze before he scoffed. “How could that be?”
How was that possible? If that got out, he would lose his reputation!
“Oh, that’s good.”
“Let’s go,” said Pei Ge when the man refused to admit it.
As he watched the woman next to him beam in excitement at the thought of returning home to their kids, his eyes hardened and he pressed his index finger on her lips.
“What is it?” asked the woman, feeling the warmth of his fingers on her lips, as she looked him in the eyes.
His expression turned colder. He grabbed the back of her head and pressed his lips on hers. The taste of her nearly crumbled his rationality.
He only let go of her after a while.
“You’re mine!”
Pei Ge was stunned. The man was really jealous—jealous of their kids.
The man ignored her after that. With pursed lips, he started the car.
