Chapter 1817 - 1810: Request, Wanqing, and Samsara
Chapter 1817 - 1810: Request, Wanqing, and Samsara
The great commotion between two Galactic Zones, the Containing Creation Zone and the Transforming Worlds Galactic Zone, was galaxy-shaking and rarely seen, especially as two supreme existences were involved, and the screeching javelin of golden light gracing the skies of countless planets, continents, and lunar satellites, leaving behind a trail of majestically gorgeous light to behold and inspire.
In the Original Dawn Palace, Wei Wuyin sipped a cup of steaming tea after giving it a slight blow, looking at the ceiling as his Celestial Eyes observed the events with intrigued glints within.
'The lingering power of a Supreme Sage!'
Su Yi was unable to sense the abnormality, and given the protection and stabilization formation of the Original Dawn Palace that anchored it to fixed space, there was no way for him to sense it either. Instead, he could see that Wei Wuyin, this foreigner from a galaxy and empire unknown, was distracted by an outside event.
"Are they that persistent?" He guessingly probed as he glanced at the cup of tea that remained untouched on the table. Not even the fragrant aroma and tantalizing steam was enough to move his heart to drink.
Wei Wuyin's gaze was brought back down as he glanced at the untouched cup of tea. "You can say that," he vaguely replied. The conflict between two Supreme Sages was not minor, and the entirety of the galaxy's powerhouses were observing and inquiring regarding the incident. Suo Haoran was brazen and clearly determined in his actions, so they could only assume that the Abhorrent Sky Sovereign was acting rather abhorrent.
"Enough about the outside, you wanted this meeting. I've entertained your desire. What do you, Fellow Daoist Su, wish to discuss with me?" Wei Wuyin took a sip and enjoyed the flavor of this tea, his personal concoction that was on par with a transcendent ninth-grade spiritual aspects elevation-type product. He was delving further into creating and cooking various alchemical food products, including drinks that were similar to elixirs recently, and it all started long, long ago when he sat on that bench in the Devil War Realm and was offered some dates by that old man.
Su Yi's outward facial expression was at ease and serene, but his heart was rather solemn and heavy. "I have a few matters that I wish to discuss with you, World-Saint Neo-Dawn. The first is to offer my thanks."
"Oh?"
Su Yi continued, "You've assisted me after my tragedy, and while the events of the Mystics, including my loss, was largely attributed to an event you created, none of these circumstances would have happened if those ill-intended parties hadn't escalated the events, and I hadn't played into their hands. Additionally, I'm clearly aware that I was plotted against from the very beginning, and from your actions here, I know that you had no part in those schemes."
Su Yi was clear in stating his appreciation. While the game had began due to determining Shang Wanqing's fate, it was Su Yi who agreed, and then it was those like Grand Seer Rippledark, Tianshi Ya, Guo Heng, and Qin Yingyin who plotted against him and Wei Wuyin. He had just fallen prey to it, while Wei Wuyin had stumped them out and punished them thoroughly.
Similarly, Wei Wuyin had offered timely assistance at every stage. It was rather perplexing, to be honest. Not only did Wei Wuyin broker a four-day break to allow him to ascend prior to Mythical Punishment, he had keenly sensed Grand Seer Rippledark's intent to bring him down, and then helped him starve off the greedy sharks that lust for his secrets by granting him seven days of hard-fought peace.
Su Yi was keenly aware despite his lack of spiritual sense that Wuyin must be openly resisting tremendous pressure from the natives of his galaxy, all for his sake. While both simple-minded and keen-minded individual might think that it was because of Yue Baoyue, Su Yi understood that Yue Baoyue's value was diminish to nothing, and a figure that was as calculating and intelligent as Wei Wuyin wouldn't act for so directly for the appreciation of a beautiful woman. Moreover, Yue Baoyue wasn't some excessive beauty either, and her talent and achievements was as artificial as could be, completely propped up by the Utmost Purity Cauldron which she no longer possessed.
If so, by normal thinking, Yue Baoyue would have already been in his bed and become a mere plaything for someone of his power and status. While he wouldn't allow such a thing to happen, Su Yi felt that this was the expected course of events.
"Ah," Wei Wuyin softly exhaled out. Then, with a playful smile, he asked: "How do you know that I wasn't a part of their schemes against you?"
"..." Su Yi frowned. Then, after a few long seconds, his brows relaxed. "I trust my instincts. And I know these people. They would never trust an outsider so easily. Moreover, I wasn't on the radar of those like yourself until recently. They had no reason to plot against me, and only those with grievances against me directly, such as Shadow Veil, the Seers of the Night, and a few others would do so."
"What keen instincts you have," Wei Wuyin tipped his cup of tea and took another sip, enjoying it as he revealed an expression of content. Then, he placed it down and nodded. "You're right. I'm not involved with any of their schemes against you during the game. In fact, their dastardly conduct is why I decided to help you. That small-hearted alchemist from the Refining Skies Galactic Zone's Zenith Refinement Tower, for example, was trying to deprive me of a fair game."
"..." Su Yi stared directly into Wei Wuyin's eyes.
"And I desired that cauldron of Miss Yue. It's an intriguing and rare item, and having it destroyed via Mythical Punishment would have been a great loss to the Alchemic Dao of the world." Wei Wuyin chuckled, amusement pulling his lips into a sharp grin. "I have my own objectives too. So acting counter to the invested powers of this galaxy benefited me as well."
Su Yi's heart eased. Wei Wuyin admitting his true goal from the beginning matched his own thoughts. Wei Wuyin's aggressive actions and showcasing his alchemic superiority both in waves and trickles was all part of a plan to establish himself. To do so, the first obstacle would certainly be the Seven Utmost Towers. Moreover, it made him realize that Yue Baoyue was just as irrelevant as he originally thought to this foreigner.
"So I've received your thanks," Wei Wuyin said with a hint of boredom.
Su Yi understood that Wei Wuyin's patience was not limitless, and he was currently in a state where he couldn't greatly garner any interest, especially during this final day of protection where he couldn't or wouldn't act against him. "World-Saint Neo-Dawn, you possess means of Void Shifting utilizing Void Energy as well as grasping the Law of Space and Time to an extraordinary level. As you can imagine, my circumstance in this life is special, but I can promise you this: Regardless if I live or die, my secrets can not be claimed by anyone, be them gods or devils or buddhas, not even scouring my True Soul and extracting every iota of its essence will yield any result."
Wei Wuyin's eyes brightened. 'Buddhas?'
"..." Wei Wuyin remained silent as he allowed Su Yi to continue.
"If you wish to send someone out, you can do so freely. No one can stop you," Su Yi strongly asserted.
Wei Wuyin smiled in response, showing no sign of disagreeing. Kratos definitely wouldn't agree to any deliberate downplay of its abilities. He would never hear the end of it.
Observing Wei Wuyin and seeing him remain confident, Su Yi's own confidence in the potential success of his request grew. "You must be curious about what the others want from me. My life. All those secrets. But while I can give them to you, as you certainly wouldn't understand them, I can give you something else. Something of such value that the wager you won will seem pathetic in comparison."
"In exchange for?" Wei Wuyin slowly enunciated.
Wei Wuyin eyed Su Yi and Su Yi stared at Wei Wuyin. The two Blessed observed each other intently.
Su Yi took a deep breath, and then exhaled a strong breath. "To send me to a specific spatial location after the seven day period is over. I can protect myself after. Just safely send me there."
Wei Wuyin eyed Su Yi and Su Yi stared at Wei Wuyin. The two Blessed observed each other intently.
"What about Shang Wanqing?" Wei Wuyin suddenly asked.
"..." Su Yi was calm, knowing that this topic was bound to come up. "Wanqing's life has great secrets that, to those who involve themselves with her, even a person as powerful as a Cardinal Sage, will find themselves besieged by a lethal, disastrous calamity. I only give you this clear warning because I can gather you've likely figured out that Wanqing isn't a simple person with a simple situation." After giving Wei Wuyin a while to digest his words, Su Yi followed-up with a tense: "Whether you listen or not has nothing to do with me. That said, I will also warn you that when the time comes, regardless of how strong you are, don't give into your lust. Her current body might be tempting, but if you bring forth a calamity on your own, that'll be your greatest regret."
"Oh?" Wei Wuyin's interest sparked as his eyebrows furrowed solemnly, "Are you suggesting that Dual Cultivation might awaken her latent soul or that she had protections that my Soul Perception can't sense?"
Su Yi sighed with a smile, knowing that Wei Wuyin had figured out some things. "I can only warn you, World-Saint Neo-Dawn."
'She has three soul auras. She is an oddity, but I can also sense from your mental fluctuations that even you're unsure about what you're talking about. Su Yi, Su Yi. I am not you. Calamity? I've long since added 'fortune' as its direct synonym in my internal dictionary.' Wei Wuyin thought as his expression revealed a heavy and extreme gloomy.
Su Yi's heart eased yet again at the sight of this. 'You must have already suffered a little, huh?'
Wei Wuyin said, "How about this—since your secrets are unknowable to all, honestly convey them to me via an oath. Then, I'll let that be a show of goodwill and I might agree to your offer."
Su Yi looked at Wei Wuyin and sighed emotionally. "You're not the first to want this. I can only say that doing so will not be a fun experience. You will likely suffer. You must, you absolutely must not blame me for your decision." He shook his head, thinking: 'Greed is always a cultivator's downfall.'
Wei Wuyin was immediately intrigued by this turn of events. It seemed that Su Yi had tried to convey his secrets to others before and they had suffered greatly as a result. If his level of extreme confidence wasn't an indication that Wei Wuyin wouldn't receive anything, Wei Wuyin wouldn't expect that he would try to transmit the real secrets.
'I'm not afraid of telling the world my secrets. I'm afraid that others simply won't believe me after, still resorting to killing me in body and soul by doing all sorts of extractions of my True Soul and ruining my chances at true Immortality.' These were the thoughts that Su Yi told him that Wei Wuyin had read.
"Go on," Wei Wuyin urged as he established layers upon layers of concealment in this room using his Law of Space, Time, Imperial, and Annihilation, including drawing the room into the Void, further adding a degree of separation. He didn't hold back as the Spiritual Force of his was pushed to its limits, shrouding them in multiple layers of terrifying Spiritual Strength.
Su Yi felt a subtle shake of the room as ripples surged within his untouched tea, figuring that it was Wei Wuyin's attempts at concealing things. In the end, temptation was irresistible for cultivators.
As for those outside, they immediately probed the stability of his Imperial Law, and then only calmed down after that. After all, Wei Wuyin had declared: "I don't care much for his secrets. I'm way too young to think about reincarnating. So during these seven days, I can say that I won't interrogate him or extract his soul for study. I'll leave him unharmed and in the hands of the Dazzling Jewel Alchemic Saint." All of which was declared upon via his Imperial Law as an emperor. While Su Yi could willingly offer Wei Wuyin his secrets, they didn't care.
If Su Yi could give Wei Wuyin those secrets, then it would be easier for them to obtain them as well. They wouldn't have to take any aggressive approach, and even offer to protect Su Yi and foster a relationship. At least, those who weren't enemies with him already.
-----
After an hour or so, Wei Wuyin stood there, his body trembling violently as his eyes' sclera was dark grey as his blood vessel had popped and his Alchemic Stars had dimmed considerably. The veins on his body bulged as if threatening to leave his body, and his skin was tense and taut, as if his muscles were constricting to their very limits, on the verge of crushing his bones and organs.
From his lips, a river of dragon's blood painted his lower jaw and tainted the tea cup below. Even his normally flawless skin was discolored as it seemed as if decay was setting in, depriving him of vitality and experiencing drastic changes in his age. It was almost as if the nascent process of life and the finality of death was unleashed all at once on his body.
Su Yi was meditating with his eyes closed and legs crossed, floating subtly in the air, exuding a radiance of samsara.
Wei Wuyin's teeth were clenched as he took an incomparably difficult deep breath. Then, he spat out a turbid breath laced with dragon blood. The entire air smelled of blood and decay and death while intermixed with the scent of a newborn baby and the blooming of fragrant flowers.
"HOH!" Wei Wuyin's body relaxed.
Su Yi slowly floated down as he sat back in his seat. He looked at his untouched tea tainted by blood, and then he heaved a heavy sigh. Observing the body-soul-mind collapsing Wei Wuyin, he resisted the urge to say any words such as 'I told you so.'
"Did you obtain anything?" Su Yi asked, already knowing the answer.
Wei Wuyin closed his eyes. With a hoarse voice, "Tell me the location and what you offer."
Su Yi nodded. Wei Wuyin noticed longer saw any value in him, making perfect sense. In fact, he was shocked that he bounced back easily enough to speak. A discarnate soul of a Supreme Sage had heard these secrets early in this life and directly dispersed as a result. He was howling in fury and cursing Su Yi until his eternal death.
They talked for only three or so minutes before Su Yi left, returning back to Yue Baoyue's care with a satisfied heart.
After he left the room…
Wei Wuyin shook lightly. In a flash, he was flawless in appearance and aura, as if he wasn't affected in the slightest. Those starry eyes of his shone with an iridescent stellar glow, exuding profound insight. If Su Yi were to see him now, his heart would be battered by a thousand storms!
"That's the Wheel of Samsara? He really didn't hold back," Wei Wuyin recounted Su Yi's words that originated from his True Soul, from a place of unextractable origin. Others might not be able to understand the Language of Life and Death, an extremely esoteric language of the Immortal Dao and even he wouldn't have even known that was a thing, but as a Magi blessed by the three Daos…how could he not?!
What a gain!
WHAT A GAIN!!
"That worked out far better than I ever expected," Wei Wuyin was excited, no longer seeing any value in Su Yi.
