Chapter 2219 Extra: Zero Hours Prior in Trin
Chapter 2219 Extra: Zero Hours Prior in Trin
"This does not seem to be like a challenge." One of the Orc Leaders disguised under the demonic looking helmet with lots of tentacles as its beard. No matter how the reconnaissance saw the battlefield through the skies, the drones implied that there was not as much resistance as it should have.
"So I guess, we are sending the youngsters in?" his Orc military assistant asked as they also brought a battalion of young Demon Rats to this fight as well.
"Sounds like a good plan. This will give them some real life experience while we stand by and keep the capital walls surrounded." The Orc Leader said and had also sent the command to the other Orc Leaders to do the same. As the message had passed down through the hierarchy of ranks, everyone also agreed that this would be a good training ground for those young Demon Rats or even minions who had little experience when it came to sieging such a huge capital city.
In fact, those leaders were not going to give any command but the sole objective of opening the gates so that the rest could go in and proceed with the mass slaughtering of Trin's capital.
For the young Demon Rats, they finally realised that this was their time to shine after weeks of training within the System's instances. They had gone through gruelling hell camps day after day just so that they were ready to perform. But compared to their 'original' demon rat lives, the Demon Rats were well fed, well rested and even well equipped in terms of knowledge.
Surely, they might stumble initially since this was the first time that their 'senpai' Demons had given them free reign but they had decided to give it a try. They were not stupid to not know that the first wave of Demon Rats rushing in would definitely be killed but this was a part of their assessment given by the Orc Leaders that had been guiding them this whole expedition.
"Not as if I am going to die permanently, right?" One of the Demon rats remarked as it took a deep breath in and told the rest to follow his charge. Similar to the Mouse folks, most of these Demon Rats were given the same gearsets as them. From Wand Rifles to 5D Manoeuvre mobility armour, these Demon Rats were packed with good modern gear that can give them the advantage needed to transverse this entire problem right in front of their eyes.
The only difference between the Mouse folks and them right now was that those gearsets had been modified cosmetically to show a little more grotesque appearance. This would cause further fear towards their already frightened enemies as they moved close to them.
Catapults and trebuchets were the first to fire off from the walls when those Demon Rats battalions entered the range of the defenders' sight. However, as much as the defenders wished it would put some pressure on or even defeat some of the demons, those rocks had been evaded rather easily with the mobility gear sets that the Demon Rats were wearing.
Some even dared to play with the incoming rocks by pulling themselves towards the flying rocks and using the trajectory of those rocks as an aid to push themselves closer to the defenders. When the defenders saw how easily the Demon Rats were able to move away from their defensive siege weapons, they decided to move towards the use of magic.
The first offensive defensive spells cast were lightning nets. Stretched with a long wide reach, they were once again hoping that the spells had the speed to catch those Demon Rats. Sadly for the rats, there were some who misread the spell casting and had been captured by it. Once the nets had touched their opponents, the lightning portion of the nets immediately activated itself, causing a huge shock that was sufficient to fry not just their equipment but the Demon Rats themselves. This gave the defenders some boost in morale so that their spells could work against the Demon Rats.
The only downside was that there was still quite a number of demons waiting at their gates and the ones coming were sadly just the first wave. Still, the defenders did not lose hope and continued to defend their homes with just these numbers.
All they could hope was that the message given to their counterparts in the northern portion of the Southern Kingdom of Ends would be able to respond in time and come to aid them as how heroes should.
Experience tales at empire
Sadly, the problem was that the King of Ends did not fulfil that portion of the bargain and as more messengers came from various kingdoms to request for their armies to return to their own motherland, the King of Ends now understood how serious the situation was south of his kingdom.
On the other hand, he felt that even if he were to start shoring up defences in his kingdom, it would bring suspicion to the various royal dispatch of elite soldiers to Ends. All he could hope was to either send the troops north for a raid or pray Ress to send their soldiers downwards. Unfortunately, the snow was not letting up and sending such soldiers to cross the borderlands would be considered suicide.
However, it was precisely because of such a situation, the King of Ends ordered various soldier groups to shore up the defences within the Kingdom of Ends while telling his own soldiers to personally bring any messengers to him before sending them anywhere else. This way, he could control the information being sent out.
This was precisely the same for the King of Trin who still could not find a way to get out of this terrible predicament. Yet, he feared that there was no way to do so when he found out the Demon Army had literally entrapped the entire capital city in its hands.
All he wishes is that things could move towards his favour despite the underwhelming cards that he had been dealt with.
