Chapter 2100: Air Superiority

Chapter 2100: Air Superiority

Just when the battle felt like it was dying down, a loud horn sound was heard from the North of Ress. Gara and the other officers immediately dived their focus into their internal communications network and noted that the Demons had taken notice of the fights that had been ongoing.

"A few Rank A Demons are flying around the vicinity of the isolation barrier. ETA about 3 minutes based on their speed!" One of the scout Rifle Mages reported. Jin thought about it for a while and decided to broadcast it to everyone within the area without any discrimination.

"The Demons are coming! You can either retreat back to your country or move into the Bamboo Forest for cover before we close up the isolation barrier once more. My troops would not shoot first unless you made the call to do so." Jin said and the Rifle Mages were a little hesitant upon hearing it.

The King was once again attempting to save lives even though minutes ago he was killing everyone on the battlefield. However, at the same time, they knew that these humans would not be able to fight against the Demons at their current capacity and thus, it was either to side with the enemy just this once or they retreat back to their kingdoms with the high risk of dying to the demons.

Meanwhile, Jin sent out the orders for all Rifle Mages to start intercepting the Demons that were coming around, providing whatever additional time they could get their hands on before the Demons were able to reach the areas where the Isolation Barrier was partially exposed.

Most if not all of the humans belonging to the various kingdoms were in a dilemma. It did not sound like a scam or a trick to get them to surrender their arms since their King was decisive and aggressive in his orders.

Rifle Mages were moving swiftly to the flanks of the isolation barrier while a small group continued to contain the Celestials that were still fighting to come out of this with the maximum amount of damage inflicted on Ress.

Unfortunately, based on their movements and patterns, the Commando Mages were able to dispatch the remaining Celestials without a hitch but they needed some time to do so when the supporting fire had reduced drastically since the tanks were moving out to provide the necessary support to the Rifle Mages who had flew ahead to intercept the incoming wave.

On the other hand, ordinary mages particularly Water Mages were now coming out of their allocated positions to aid the remnants who had decided to make living as a priority. Earth and Air Mages were also the ancillary support where they assisted in carrying and transporting the injured into the Bamboo Forest.

Not to mention, the Pandarians were also playing their part even though there was some initial scare after emerging out of the Bamboo Forest as if they were the natural guardians of the area.

As the rescue and containment operations moved on, the Rifle Mages who went ahead had already begun engaging with the Rank A Demons. The sounds of shots echoed through the air had indicated that the impromptu operations had to move quickly since the number of casualties was by the hundreds.

Hence, even recruit Rifle Mages were seen dispatched to aid with the withdrawal operations until they could finally hear their tanks roaring from the distance.

"Tsk! To think that I need to bring out another card from my sleeve. Here I thought I could save them for the future." Jin said to himself but Gara was in his vicinity when he heard Jin grumbling.

"Now that you do not want to kill them, it's best you show them all these cards that you hid or else they have nothing to report to their kings." Gara smiled as he could see that Jin was clearly ignoring him and the sounds of distant jets started to rumble within the skies.

To say that they were like thunder was an understatement considering the proximity and height clearance level due to the Isolation Barrier but those fighter jet planes were the new ace card that Jin had.

It might not be much in the grand scheme of battle but having fighter jets to throw down excessive amounts of explosives might aid the war and reduce the burden that the Rifle Mages have to handle. After all, in the modern war context, having air superiority was the key condition in determining the state of the battlefield.

Hence as four jets flew out of Ress and split themselves two on each side of the isolation barrier, many did not know how strong it was but the sound it made was more than a deafening experience for many.

At first, Jin wanted to have Mages pilot them but realised that there was no need to as what the Automated War Factory had done clearly allowed ordinary humans to pilot it easily. All they needed was the knowledge to do so and Jin had allowed Psychic Mages to aid in implanting these memories and basic know hows on operating the thing.

All that was left was allowing them to be in simulations. Life threatening simulations so that they could handle not just the plane itself but also how to maneuver through all the possible 'obstacles' in the way like Rifle Mages and flying demons.

And to Jin's surprise, it worked rather well considering the psychic mages were not the Mage Guild members. Rather, they were none other than the Star Foxes where limits do not apply to them.

Hence, even though this was their maiden flight, the four non mage pilots had gone through a plethora of scenarios in their heads and bodies before flying the prototype and modified F16s fighter planes into the warzone and kill some demons.

"Ahhhh. If we can have F16s…maybe we can have transforming mechas from those F16s as well… That would be a dream to achieve in the near future…" Jin said as he saw the fighter jets throw their first payload into the incoming horde. And there was more to where those missiles came from.
