3418 Last Day
“This is for everything you all have done for me,” I said as I pushed the five boxes toward my assistants.
This is my last day at the clinic. Tomorrow, the gate will open, and I will leave through it.
“You don’t have to give this to us, Healer Brock. We have learned so much from you that we have never learned from anyone,” said Jex and tried to push the box toward me, but I pushed it back.
“Keep it. Consider this a gift from a teacher,” I said to them.
A few minutes later, I watched them leave the house before turning away from the window.
I am going to miss them; miss Javelin and the relaxing month I have.
I am unwilling to leave, but excited about tomorrow. I have heard so much about the place and I felt like it could help me.
This place had given me the rest I needed to face the challenges that lie beyond the gate.
I stayed in my room for a couple of minutes before walking away. I have to visit the shops that I haven’t visited this week.
I have visited a lot of shops this week and done massive shopping, that I have not done in all cities combined.
It was so much that even Blain had got shocked by it.
She said it herself.
With the governor’s protection, I had let myself loose; I bought anything and everything I need. Now, not only do I have the resources for my breakthrough but also the levels next.
I have even done some trades with Blain, who was likely doing it on behalf of the Governor. There are many resources I have that they were interested in.
They also have many things, that I had wanted.
I even sold my pass to the Governor. He gave me a fair price.
The Sky Sovereign, like him, has an immense number of resources. Especially when he had gone to very dangerous ruins to hunt for the resources, that many healers thought might be able to help his daughter.
Speaking of which, he had paid me handsomely for her treatment as well.
I had checked on her earlier, but there was no change in her condition. Which is not surprising.
There is a very high chance that she wouldn’t succeed. Cosmic monsters are not something that isn’t something that could be easily reached.
Especially the ones, who had the potential to reach the Golden Prime and beyond that. Though going beyond, it is extremely rare; it had happened.
It was midnight when I got out of the last shop.
“Did you loot any organization or something to have such wealth?” asked the girl who appeared beside me.
“Nothing like that; it is all gotten from the spawns,” I replied.
“You must have killed a lot of them to gain so much,” she said. “You have no idea,” I replied with a smile.
There was silence as flew through the sky. Sovereign could fly through the city, but not through the restrictive areas like I am doing now, but I have special permission from the Governor.
Soon, we landed on the roof of my house and sat down on the chairs on the roof.
“Does she have a chance?” she asked, her voice full of pain that it felt unbearable.
I didn’t answer that question immediately, instead looked into the sky.
“I don’t know.”
“The method only provides a chance, an extremely small one, but a still chance, and it is up to her to use its success,” I replied.
“She will. She is a survivor, and she will survive this too,” she said. Hearing that, a smile appeared on my face and a moment later, a tome, which I handed to her.
“Give this to her after she wakes up. I am sure she will love it,” I said.
“She will really love it,” said Blain, looking at the cover of the tome.
It is a culinary tome.
In one of the conversations, she had let it slip that Clara loves cooking. So much so that she is a Grade 5 culinary master, and this one love to eat.
No wonder they have ended up together.
For more than ten minutes, she remained silent, before she did something surprising.
I was focused on the real aura, which she has revealed for a moment.
She is no Earth Sovereign, but a Sky Sovereign. More power than even the Governor. He is an Initial Sky Sovereign, while she is a Mid-Sky Sovereign.
There is something else I had noticed in her aura, and my clones confirmed it.
“Take this, it might help you in your journey,” I said to her and gave her another book.
She saw the book and a shock appeared on her face.
“Just who are you?” she asked as she took from me with shaking hands.
“I hope she will succeed, but if she didn’t, try to move on,” I said to her, and she gave me a look.
I said nothing and just hugged her.
I wish I could do more for her, but I couldn’t. I wouldn’t have been able to do much, even if I was at her level.
We sat in silence for more than an hour before she put back her mask and simply disappeared. I stayed on the roof for a few more minutes before going back inside the house.
I lay on the bed to sleep, but it evaded me.
Usually, I sleep within a second, but sometimes, it takes minutes or even an hour.
I tried to sleep for a few more minutes but couldn’t. So, I went to my core and worked on inheritance, for a few hours, before coming out and trying again.
This time, the sweet sleep took me into its embrace in mere seconds.
