2869 Shudder
If someone had asked me a day ago, even half a day, whether I would fight against the Grand Lord here in this forest, I would say yes without hesitation, but now I did not plan to.
I love to kill this bastard, but the place I am in is extremely dangerous; if I were to fight it, there is a very high chance that I might get beguiled a mid-way, and it will give my enemy to finish me off an instant, and I don’t want to die yet.
Hun!
I shook my head and flew away from the Grimm with a very unwilling heart, but two seconds after I made my decision, a wave of source sense released from Grimm, and with a distance between it and covered me in an instant, letting the Grimm of my place.
“Shit!” I cursed, seeing the Grimm turning toward me before disappearing.
My abilities let me hide from the High-Grandmasters and below, but it is very hard to from the powerhouses of the same level at such a close distance unless I activate my stealth method; stealth methods are complex, and they are suitable in a dangerous place like this.
“Another human!” Aege said and attacked.
Thick violet energy came at me; it was fast and powerful that no High-Grandmaster could survive it, much faster than the final attack it had done to me last. It seemed to have learned from the last time; finish the energy as soon as you can, so it cannot run away.
BANNG!
I saw the attack and did not even move, and soon, it crashed into me.
The Grimm, wanting to store the body before leaving to its surprise, nothing came at it, and a moment later, when the dust cleared, it saw standing on the same spot, without the slightest scratch.
The last time, I needed everything I had to defend against its attacks; this attack I had just defended would have killed me even with my shields, but I was able to defend against it, just with my armor.
“A Grand Lord!” It said in shock and immediately became alert; its whole-body language had changed. Now, there is not a hint of laziness in its eyes.
“Can we not do this, Aege; as you can see, it is a very dangerous environment; it could kill us both before we can kill each other,” I said with a sigh in a voice different from mine.
The Grimms usually reply very quickly, they always had a reply, but this time, my words did stop it in its tracks and force it to think as it looked at me cautiously.
It made no reply for more than ten seconds before shaking its head.
“You are right what you have said, but you are a Grand Lord and a new one; in this place, I had a better chance to kill you than after finishing the challenge, where the boost will advance your strength further,” It said, and by the time, it had let out the last word of the sentence, a cruel smile had appeared on its face.
‘It seemed like it had become fully committed to fighting me,’ I said to myself; “Think about it carefully; we both could really die,” I said, and hearing that, the smile on its face became even brighter.
“Don’t worry, human; I will give you a quick death,” it said, and a huge white halberd appeared in its hand, and it took a step, appearing directly in front of me.
“Die, human!” It screamed and attacked; the attack was quite surprising; I had thought it would first ask about me to gauge my abilities, but it seemed like a bastard wanted to kill me as soon as possible without wasting any time, which was the wisest move.
The quicker you finish the battle, the less chance there will be to be caught under the beguilement.
‘Since it is not willing to listen, then I have no choice,’ I said and attacked back; I am not sad to disappoint by it not listening to me; it could be said that I am happy. I was just pragmatic earlier because there is a very good chance to get beguile while fighting.
Which is fine too, more than fine, because now I will give my everything to kill it, the thing I wanted to do for a long time.
If I succeed, I will even get a big reward, its bloodline.
A grey spear appeared in my hand, and it moved toward the Bearman; this spear was of Grand Lord level. I had taken it from the armory of the Pyramid, and there is a reason I took it; I will be able to use that new of mine efficiently with it.
Our weapons moved closer, and soon there was a distance of fewer than ten inches away from each other when a surprised expression appeared on its face.
Clang!
A muted clang rang out as the weapons classed; it even shook the Grimm faintly as it looked at me with surprise.
“A nice little ability you have, human, but don’t think you are the only one who has them!” The Bearman roared in anger, and crackling dense violet mist crackled on the blade of its halberd.
“Murdering Violet!” It shouted and swung down the crackling halberd toward me.
My eyes couldn’t help but widen their surprise at the power of the attack, just an aura of it powerful enough that it would have cracked my shields; I wondered how powerful it would be when it clashed against me.
Thankfully, I will not have to wait long to find out.
Clang!
Once again, when it entered the seven-inch range of my spear, the momentum of the halberd began to loosen rapidly, but like last time, the Bearman pushed, and our weapons clashed in muted might just like before.
There was no disappointment on the Bearman’s face, even ecstasy as the moment clashed down; the crackling came down from its halberd into my spear before covering me, and all it took was a fraction of a second.
Hun!
It was not all; the moment this crackling mist covered me, the Grimm took back its halberd and launched the attack, the attack which was far more powerful than the previous two attacks, wanting to finish me off silently and quickly, as it did not even shout.
“Nice attack!” I said, and to its shock, it saw my armor turn and swallow all the crackling violet mist while, at the same time, I swung my spear.
Clang!
Our weapons came close, and when we had reached the clashing distance, its moment began to slow down till it clashed, and Bearman shook from head to toe.
“You will have to do something better,” I said to the angry Bearman, whose violet eyes were blazing in anger.
“You are not an easy enemy, but you humans rarely are when you reach this level,” “The bitch, I had fought not long ago was also quite hard to deal with,” it said as it calmed its anger, with deep violet eyes turning to normal.
“But I will not let you get away, as I did with that bitch. You will die here,” it said, and the powerful aura burst out of its body.
So powerful that it made me shudder.
