205 Guild Wars: Fight for Victory! 3
What kind of a mage was he?
None dared to ask. It was like acknowledging what he said and his skills if they did.
Ren was a cheater and a Thief. That was all the truth they needed to know.
The four swordsmen quickly recovered, and they closed the distance between them and Ren. They attacked without hesitation, but their AGL was lacking, and their MP was short to cast any skill.
Ren avoided every swing and slash of their sword while he counterattacked with his staff, aiming at their exposed limbs. At the same time, he was deflecting their weapons if he could.
Taking a leap, Ren jumped back and maintained a reasonable distance from his attackers while four elemental balls shot out from the pointy end of his staff, striking his foes before the four swordsmen could even realize that it was on their way.
The four Swordsmen were caught off guard since they didn’t expect that Ren could cast while moving. They heard about it, but the INT requirement for it was huge.
Just how high was his INT?
Their answers came with the mind-blowing numbers flashing on their screen. Two immediately died because of their low HP. One shot slipped past another while the last Swordsman had enough HP to withstand a single hit of Ren’s spell.
“Shit!”
“What kind of spell is that?!”
“Why can he shot four spells in a single cast?”
“Never mind that! How did he even manage to cast while moving?!”
The others were shocked while Ren only smiled without mirth before a sweeping strike connected to the lower half of his face.
–– 1
Ren rubbed the side of his cheek. He took a deep breath, and his piercing eyes locked on the Hunter, who had a bow in his hand.
The Hunter shrieked and was about to run away, but the arena had an invincible barrier preventing anyone from entering and exiting the stadium. Realizing he was trapped, he sought the protection of the three Brutes.
However, before he could, a malevolent glimmer shot in a perfect arc hit him, and he dissolved into nothingness.
“That’s four,” said Ren with a smile before he took another step to avoid the incoming balls of fire from the mages.
The three Brutes and two Monks shouted a battle cry, and all bolted to Ren with nothing on their minds but to chop his head off.
Ren cast [Shamanic Ward] to up his defense. Even with his high AGL, he still couldn’t avoid all those incoming attacks. He evaded those he could evade while he took on those he couldn’t.
Multiple blades ruthlessly made their way to Ren’s neck while soaring fires shot from the sky going in his direction, aiming to burn him on the ground.
In the chaotic fray of combat, everyone focused on Ren as some of their attacks connected with his armor. Expecting his doom, they failed to notice four projectiles blasted straight against their armors.
The spell’s impact was enough to send the three Brutes backward while the remaining DPS jumped away from Ren.
They all expected Ren to dissolve into nothingness, but they were surprised that the three Brutes were the ones who disappeared while Ren only brushed off the smoke on his armor while a minuscule sum flashed over his head. It wasn’t even enough to take a [Health Potion].
“W-what the f*ck is he?!”
The other players that were left in the arena took a step back, mouths gaping and eyes wide.
Even Sumeri and the others were wide eyes, mouth hanging as they stared at Ren. Just what magic did he used that even ten simultaneous attacks didn’t even half his HP?
Sumeri looked over at Leonel, but the latter’s expression told her that even he didn’t know.
“What the hell is your friend?!” Roxy asked Leonel. Though her voice wasn’t gentle, her mind was rejoicing. The pot of gold and fame was ignited in her heart once more.
Leonel scratched his head. “Honestly, I don’t know anymore.” From all the times that they were together, he was the one absorbing all the attacks, and not once did he saw Ren took damage. Come to think of it . . .
Ren had [Vulcan’s Armor] that added +20 to his DEF, reaching his DEF to +80 overall. His MDF was also in that number while [Shamanic Ward] reduced Physical and Magical Damage by 20%.
STR and INT with only +40 wouldn’t be enough to half his HP much less reduce it to a considerable sum.
“So . . . who’s next?” Ren asked and cocked his head to the side.
Everyone in the Arena looked at each other and took a step back while the guilds outside the stadium all shouted ‘cheating’ once more.
“Y-You! You cheater! How can you not die with those attacks? D-Disqualified. You should be disqualified–!”
A fire shot fierce and true, ripping into the mage who didn’t finish her sentence before he burst into dust.
“Who else is dissatisfied? You can all come forward. Just remember my name and World Conqueror when you die,” Ren said.
The others couldn’t laugh anymore, unlike before. In fact, they were horrified at the turn of events that they couldn’t even curse about their current situation.
Ren cracked his head from side to side. “Shall we end this?”
The others took a step back and one mage panicked and started the ignition of the chaos.
“Don’t come closer!” he screamed, but he had no more mana to launch any attack. But even though he had the mana, he doubted he could dint Ren’s HP.
At his scream, the others lost it, and they broke into different directions. At this moment, Ren didn’t look or feel like a player . . . he felt like the final Boss.
Ren didn’t wait for the others to regroup and immediately finished them off while they were at their most vulnerable state.
At the same time, while the inside of the arena was in pandemonium, the outside was bursting with anger.
“Bot. Call the Bot! Now!”
“Contact that Rabbit!”
“There’s no way that guy is not cheating!”
The others directed their anger at Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lambs, confronting them with furious voices.
“You bunch of cheaters!”
“How do you explain that now, huh?!”
“There’s no way that guy isn’t cheating!”
“He’s just a mage, but he can withstand ten attacks all at once? How did that happen?!”
“Even beta testers don’t have that high of an ATP that they no longer receive any damage from multiple attacks!”
Leonel and the others could only take a step back. Even they didn’t have any answers since none of them knew Ren’s ATP. He kept it a secret, even to Leonel.
The group didn’t have a comeback. Even Sumeri and Roxy felt like Ren was a bug –– a cheat himself.
While Leonel was grumpy that Ren was keeping secrets from him. However, he couldn’t blame him too much since he admitted that he was terrible at keeping secrets.
When Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lambs remained tight lip, a guild couldn’t hold back their emotions and attacked Leonel with a savage throw of their weapons.
They were talking about millions of gil here. That meant millions of real money. Real money that could definitely change their life in the real world, even if they had to distribute it to fifty members or so.
So it was no wonder that money blinded them into attacking. Money that would no longer be theirs at the appearance of Ren, who they knew couldn’t be defeated no matter what they did. Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lambs had to be disqualified!
At the sight of flying weapons blocking the horizon, Leonel raised his shield while the others quickly took a step back just in time that the blades smacked directly against his defense, and the sound of metals against metals cringed Leonel’s ears.
He didn’t suffer any HP reduction, though. However, the loud ringing noises felt like his eardrums would burst. Maybe it was time to get a wooden shield or a cottony shield. Leonel thought. The noise bothered him more than the damage at this point.
Seeing that Roaring Tigers and Fighting Lambs were fine and didn’t have any scratches, the other guilds’ anger sore to a new height. They rash in their direction with their weapons, wanting to take matters into their own hands.
“Stop!”
