Chapter 982 - Rivals
Chapter 982: Rivals
The fact that Twilight City’s guilds did not dare to oppose them did not mean that the guilds from other main cities would not dare to.
There were so many people in Twilight City, and it would not be a secret that everyone there owned fragments. Hence, the forum became filled with posts from players from Twilight City and it captured the attention of the big guilds outside of Twilight City.
Just because of that, the big guilds did not even bother taking airships but instead used teleportation scrolls and came all the way here just to buy fragments. Amongst them included buyers from the most elite guilds.
Not long after the Quan Zhen Sect started their business, the Trading Street was bustling with stalls that hung up signs with their high prices…
The players from Twilight City were surprised that there were actually people who dared to compete with Quan Zhen Sect.
“Boss, how much do you offer?”
“Pugilist Fragment, nine hundred; Assassin Fragment, sixteen hundred; market price! No limit to the number of fragments…” one of the stall owners called Deception said.
“Tsk, you outsiders are just stingy.” Everybody laughed.
Hearing what the others said, Deception was puzzled and asked, “How did you know that we were outsiders?”
“Of course we do. Quan Zhen Sect set up their buying business in front of the City Lord’s Mansion, and no other guilds from Twilight City would dare to compete for business with them.”
The players in Twilight City still had a bit of admiration for Quan Zhen Sect who was one step above Sanguine Alliance and talked as if it was as a matter of course.
“Quan Zhen Sect?” Deception was shocked.
Deception did not spend any less time in the game than Quan Zhen Sect, and would have of course heard of Quan Zhen Sect’s reputation and knew about how they do things.
However, Deception’s impression of Quan Zhen Sect stopped there. Though he had heard about them in <REBIRTH>, he still treated them like the small organisation that was wary of everything like they were before.
For big guilds like them, they would naturally not be afraid of Quan Zhen Sect. At most, they would just be lazy to provoke.
After hearing all of that, Deception was surprised and asked, “How much did they offer then?”
The masses replied, “Pugilist, one thousand; Assassin, eighteen hundred; with welfare. If you guys are to keep your prices as this, I suggest that you don’t waste your time here.”
“F*ck me!”
After hearing that, all the stall owners froze.
The prices of fragments had already matched the price of gold equipment and were considered a sky-high price. If they could offer an even higher price than that, how rich could they be?
Unlike the other big guilds who buy fragments for their own use, Quan Zhen Sect’s purpose of having the fragments was to resell, and would of course not fear the high-interest loan from the system.
If there were any guild who dared to raise their price, Quan Zhen Sect would gladly raise theirs up even higher, because the big guilds would be the same ones buying the fragments in the future.
After a few seconds, a stall owner could not hold back anymore and shouted, “F*ck, these b*stards are spoiling the market… how can they raise their price up so high?”
“Yes… They obviously did it on purpose.”
“What good does raising their prices so high this do to these b*stards?”
“Don’t you already know what kind of people are in Quan Zhen Sect? They just like to harm others even without benefiting themselves…”
…
Hearing the debates, Deception frowned.
Though most of them were from big guilds, they were not rivals and knew that having sky-high prices would not benefit anyone. Hence, everyone followed the market rate by default and nobody would intentionally disrupt the market equilibrium.
The appearance of a bird that stood out now made everybody feel uncomfortable. Moreover, this bird was an evil one that does not go according to plan.
Every guild came with an objective, but judging from the situation now, they could only return empty-handed.
After thinking for a while, Deception stood up and quickly packed his stall.
“Boss, where are you going?” everybody asked Deception after seeing him pack up.
Deception replied, “I am going to talk to Quan Zhen Sect.”
“I am going too!” After what Deception said, everybody stood up and packed their stalls.
Since they could not buy any fragments now, they might as well go check out the legendary destructor guild and see what they have to offer.
The Trading Street and the City Lord’s mansion was right next to each other, and after several steps, they reached the entrance of the mansion.
The entrance to the mansion was flooded with people. Li Xue’s group alone could not manage the people anymore and even Mu Zi Xian was called to help. There were a total of six purchasing booths and every one of them was filled with people.
After seeing all the girls at the purchasing booths, Deception was confused and wondered why did Quan Zhen Sect become a bunch of girls. Confused, he asked the player beside him “Where are the players from Quan Zhen Sect?”
“There!” that player pointed to the corner.
Deception looked towards the direction he was being pointed to only to see Fearless and a group of people interacting with the players and getting teased.
Of course, ‘teased’ only meant mildly close physical interactions. Those who made requests like making Ling Longmeng or Yang Nuo kiss them still had their dead bodies warm.
After Deception and the rest saw what was happening, their gaze changed from looking forward to looking down upon.
These players were top players from big guilds and were considered holy existences during normal days. Not to say interacting with these guildless players, they would not even bother having any form of interactions with normal players from smaller guilds.
In their hearts, a professional should look like a professional. In their eyes, whatever Quan Zhen Sect was doing just made them look like clowns.
After realizing that his business got affected because of these people, Deception felt angry and started walking towards Fearless and his group of people.
“Which one of you is the leader of Quan Zhen Sect?”
Deception and his men pushed their way in rudely and asked while pointing to the crowd.
“I am!”
“I am!”
Right after Deception asked, the players from Quan Zhen Sect raised their hands by reflex.
Though Fearless was Quan Zhen Sect’s President, everyone else made themselves the biggest there.
“…”
Deception’s expression darkened and labelled Quan Zhen Sect as ill-disciplined.
These guys were considered professionals? It seemed that rumours will just be rumours and could not be trusted.
At this point in time, everyone looked down on Quan Zhen Sect even more and Deception continued, “I will give you guys five seconds to choose a leader to speak to me now!”
