Chapter 1168 - The Light Temple In The Fortress
Chapter 1168: The Light Temple In The Fortress
“Die? No way!”
Wang Yu smiled at her words then a pair of white wings spread from his back. Soon, Wang Yu leaped and flew into the air.
“What?! He can actually fly…” Shroom Devil King mumbled upon seeing what happened.
Without the existence of a flying skill book, to be able to fly was a huge advantage. For luring monsters, running fast was nowhere as relaxing as flying as, after all, the monsters could not fly too.
Shroom Devil King lost focus for just a while and Wang Yu flew right above the monsters. He took out his fire gun and began shooting at the monsters below.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
The shooting sounds rang through and the monsters on the ground had their hatred activated one by one and were instantly lured by Wang Yu.
“Come chase me…” Wang Yu laughed proudly, taunting the monsters as he circled above them then went in another direction, wanting to lure them away.
Just then, a shocking scene happened.
The monsters on the ground looked at Wang Yu flying in the sky mocking them silly.
“Whoosh!”
With the sound of spreading wings, all the monsters spread out their wings on their backs then like a swarm of bees fighting for food, the monster rapidly flew towards Wang Yu. In an instant, the monsters filled the sky with black and white wings.
“F*ck!”
Seeing how the silly monsters on the ground suddenly grew wings, the fearless Wang Yu was stumped. He panickingly flapped his wings, wanting to fly higher.
However, these were level hundred monsters and were born with wings so they flew way faster than Wang Yu whose flying skills were just half past two.
Before Wang Yu gained altitude, the monsters were already beside him, outnumbering him. At the same time, a white light appeared as Wang Yu was killed devastatingly by the monsters.
However, Wang Yu’s sacrifice was not useless. After Wang Yu disappeared, the monsters began fighting one another in the sky. The space up there was a lot bigger than the ground so their fights got more violent.
There is a Chinese saying which states that birds die for their food. It seemed like it also described flying humans very well.
Shroom Devil King who was on the ground saw how Wang Yu was killed in less than ten seconds and her tears rolled down, complaining as she scolded, “Damn it, so much for being arrogant. Now you’re dead, leaving me in such an eerie place.”
Shroom Devil King was complaining as she ran towards the exit of the God of Devils Fortress. Just then, a familiar voice came from behind.
“Idiot, where are you going? Hurry go forward!”
“???”
Shroom Devil King quickly turned around and saw Wang Yu standing not too far away, yelling at her while waving towards her.
Shroom Devil King was shocked. She quickly ran to Wang Yu and puzzledly asked, “Aren’t you dead?”
“Dead?” Wang Yu speechlessly said, “Haven’t you seen a Pugilist’s clone?”
“Erm…” Shroom Devil King was speechless again.
Just now, Wang Yu threw a clone there and used [Flash] to escape so a ray of white light appeared.
Cloning was a skill Pugilists used to pull aggro and prevent injury so Wang Yu’s aggro was transferred onto his clone.
By then, Wang Yu’s clone had been killed so the hatred naturally disappeared too and the monsters were back to attacking one another.
Of course, this was due to Wang Yu being a legendary expert. Any other players would not be able to escape when they are surrounded by so many monsters, even if the monsters were of low level.
No matter what, now that the monsters in front of them were lured to the sky by Wang Yu, the two of them sneakily crept beneath the monsters and continued moving forward.
The God of Devils Fortress was a very big location so Wang Yu could not lure all the monsters into the sky.
However, no matter how high level these monsters were, they were still normal monsters with low AI… They could only rely on their abilities.
With prior experience, the journey afterwards was much easier. Whenever they meet monsters, Wang Yu did the same thing, luring them into the sky then used a clone to escape, changing the monsters’ battlefield.
Although luring monsters was dangerous, the two of their quests did not have a specific coordinate to go to. It was challenging to find a specific NPC and book in this huge battleground.
Out of desperateness, the two of them could only do a carpet search here, causing the monsters to be sent flying by Wang Yu.
Just like this, the two of them aimlessly walked around for an unknown duration of time before they finally saw a dilapidated temple
<System Notification: You have found the Light Temple, gaining XP…>
“F*ck… We finally found the NPC!”
Seeing the system notification, Wang Yu speechlessly looked at the sky. Logically speaking, Wang Yu played the game for so long and had been cheated by countless NPCs so he had a bad impression of them. This was the first time he was excited to see an NPC.
Just as the two of them ran towards the temple’s entrance, when the two of them were about to enter, a holy light appeared and blocked them from entering. At the same time, a female voice rang beside their ears, “This is the Light Temple, unrelated people are denied entry!”
“We are not unrelated people!” Wang Yu yelled while showing the quest notification, “I am a martial artist, I am here to find my master’s lost skill.”
“Oh? A martial artist?”
That voice hesitated for a bit and the holy light landed on Wang Yu. She continued, “Indeed a martial artist but why should I believe you?”
“…”
Wang Yu paused for a bit then took out the cross he bought from Hermit and said, “My master gave this to me.”
“This…” That voice trembled a little then said, “Come in.”
As she spoke, a holy light wrapped around Wang Yu.
“Thank you.”
Wang Yu politely hugged his fists towards the temple then kept the cross. Under the protection of the holy light, he went into the temple with no obstacles.
Shroom Devil King saw him and followed him in but just then, a holy barrier lit up.
Then, a blinding holy light flew out from deep in the temple, attacking Shroom Devil King.
Wang Yu saw it and lifted his left hand to form an Energy Shield to block the holy light.
However, that holy light was extremely strong and pierced right through Wang Yu’s shield. Wang Yu was shocked and slanted his body to dodge it. The holy light was not weakened and continued towards Shroom Devil King.
Wang Yu’s hinder did not disperse the holy light but it did give Shroom Devil King some time which she used to dodge. The holy light flew right past her above her head.
“Aiya!”
Shroom Devil King escaped any injury but she was sent into a somersault which she landed flat on the ground in pain and the HP bar above her decreased.
