Chapter 1910 - 1910 Break the Balance
1910 Break the Balance
After setting the data, the professor placed the chip he had taken from Fan Shun into the apparatus. He quickly pushed the apparatus to the metal bed next door after making some adjustments.
He looked at the young man lying on the bed. Despite the fear on his face, it was quickly replaced by madness.
If the experiment succeeded, all the problems outside would be solved. Also, their research facility would become the second Mirage Base in the future!
No, their research facility could replace and surpass Mirage Base.
The professor wasted no time. Under Fan Shun’s guidance, he picked up the wiring and placed it on Min Yu’s head.
In order to achieve memory coexistence, he had to access Min Yu’s entire brain. This was a crucial step. If he did not succeed, things would get tricky.
After all, the chairman of the Weapons Bureau was not a pushover.
The professor lowered his eyes slightly. Just as he was about to connect the wires, the unconscious man suddenly opened his eyes.
The moment he made eye contact with him, the professor’s eyes constricted, and he felt shocked by the outcome of events. “You…”
Was the man conscious?

Meanwhile, outside the building, inside an off-road car.
Huo Yao had a laptop on her lap as she typed swiftly on the keyboard. Code kept jumping on the screen. It was a blur and the image was changing rapidly.
Zhuo Yun walked over quickly. He opened the car door and got into the front passenger seat. He turned to look at Huo Yao with a serious look on his face. “Someone inside said that if we force our way in, they might do something to Min Yu.”
Huo Yao did not even raise her head as she typed on the keyboard. She kept looking at the laptop for half a minute before she said, “He’s in basement two. The security is very tight. Even if we try to get in, we might not succeed.”
She had never set foot in this place before. Judging from the security system, it was far sturdier than Mirage Base. The lasers were installed layer by layer, so it was impossible to find any blind spots.
Huo Yao’s fingers moved even faster.
“Then what should we do now?” Zhuo Yun looked increasingly anxious. After hearing Huo Yao and Shangguan Tong’s conversation, he could not help feeling worried.
What if Min Yu became someone else? Zhuo Yun did not dare to imagine it.
Huo Yao finally stopped working and looked out the car window at the skyscraper.
The old building looked weathered and mottled. The sky was gray and dark, and it felt as though a storm was brewing.
Huo Yao veered her eyes and put down the laptop on her lap. She squeezed her wrists as she opened the car door and got off. “I implanted a program, but it only has one minute of interference.”
Zhuo Yun was stunned. He hurriedly opened the car door and got off. “Miss Huo, do you mean…”
Huo Yao pressed the communication device by her collar and tilted her head slightly without explaining. “I’ll go in. You can wait outside and get ready to provide backup.”
Huo Yao’s slender silhouette and decisive voice could be heard from behind. Zhuo Yun automatically obeyed her orders and stopped following behind her. “Okay.”
After Huo Yao entered the building, Zhuo Yun inhaled deeply. He suppressed his anxiety and quickly communicated with his subordinates using a special communication device.
He trusted Huo Yao completely.
He knew she would never do something she was not confident about.
Even if she had to go in alone.
*
Shortly after Huo Yao entered the building, the signal jammer she had set up started running at the same time.
The building was so tightly secured that even a fly could not get in. Almost no one noticed the intruder. Only one person in the surveillance control room looked at the surveillance footage and frowned slightly.
“Is there something wrong with the surveillance system?”
The moment the man heard this, he quickly checked the computer before shaking his head. “Nope. Everything looks normal.”
“Is that so?” The man narrowed his eyes briefly and said nothing.
Huo Yao had already avoided the security and went straight to the underground laboratory. Since the security was even tighter, she had to spend a little more time there.
Before long, she arrived at the last laboratory at the end of the corridor as indicated by Min Yu’s communication device.
The one-minute signal jamming time was almost over.
Huo Yao raised her eyes. The light overhead was dazzling, but it made her face look even colder.
At this moment, a deep thud could be heard coming from inside the laboratory. Even though it was very soft and almost inaudible, Huo Yao was keenly aware of it.
She frowned and quickly raised her hand. She scanned the black bracelet on her wrist on the metal door’s sensor lock. In an instant, the door that required special access to open unlocked on its own.
The moment the door opened, the ear-piercing sound of bullets hitting metal could be heard again. It was filled with murderous intent.
Huo Yao moved her fingers slightly. The moment she made eye contact with the cool silhouette in the room, she slowly relaxed her hands. The stern look in her eyes disappeared in an instant.
Fan Shun detected something amiss at the door. When he raised his head and saw Huo Yao, his face looked even angrier.
This woman was faster than he expected.
The experiment was incomplete and they were still unable to control Min Yu. Now that Huo Yao was involved as well… Fan Shun narrowed his eyes before he rolled over to a cabinet nearby.
He quickly opened the drawer without hesitation and retrieved a syringe. Just as he was about to inject it into his skin, Huo Yao had already come closer. Before he could react, Huo Yao kicked him hard.
Fan Shun was unable to dodge. The needle in his hand fell to the ground and he slammed into the wall behind him.
Huo Yao glanced at the syringe on the ground. It contained a light blue solution. Under the light, it looked dark and eerie.
Huo Yao’s face instantly turned cold. She looked at Fan Shun. “This will break the balance of nature.”
“From the looks of it, you know what this medicine does.” Fan Shun placed his hand on his chest. His eyes suddenly looked crazed. “Don’t you think the world is such a boring place?”
Huo Yao’s eyes turned increasingly cold. “You’re insane.”
He was just like her master.
“You don’t get it, do you?” Fan Shun scoffed. “They should thank me for giving them eternal life.”
“Sadly, you can’t change anything.” Huo Yao was expressionless. She had already taken out her gun and pointed it at the syringe on the ground right in front of Fan Shun without hesitation.
“You…”
Fan Shun’s eyes constricted. Before he was able to finish his sentence, a bang could be heard as the syringe instantly shattered.
Light blue fluid splattered everywhere. The moment it came into contact with the air, it evaporated. Only a few pieces of broken syringe remained proving its existence.
However, it cost the Fan family everything to get their hands on the solution. Even his body was damaged because of this. Now, it was destroyed so easily…
Fan Shun’s eyes looked furious. When he raised his head to look at Huo Yao again, it was filled with murderous intent. However, he knew he was no match for Huo Yao. The other two professors were unable to restrain Min Yu, so Fan Shun leaned against the wall and quickly retreated a few steps.
“In that case, all of you can die.”
The moment Fan Shun finished his sentence, he slammed his hand on the wall.
