Song Zhi did not spend much time talking to Liu Qian after that and left before long.

He checked the time before driving the car to the university’s main entrance to wait for Huo Yao. Huo Yao appeared at the school entrance approximately ten minutes later.

By then, Chen Ming’s car had just arrived as well and he had already pulled up by the roadside.

Since Song Zhi had already seen a picture of Huo Yao from Zhu, he was able to recognize her the moment she came out of the campus.

Huo Yao had gorgeous features and a cool lofty aura. Her eyes looked particularly imposing. Ji Ya was gentle and refined. Huo Yao seemed poles apart from her cousin.

Song Zhi had his hand in his pockets as he looked at Huo Yao in amazement. He walked over and even smiled unusually genially as he said, “Hi, Yaoyao.”

Huo Yao glanced at Song Zhi’s face mildly and noticed that he resembled Song Ning a little. However, she did not even pause. Instead, she continued walking to the roadside as though she did not hear him at all.

Song Zhi’s expression froze awkwardly before he quickly composed himself. Song Zhi followed behind Huo Yao and walked up beside her. He continued saying genially. “Yaoyao, I am your biological uncle. I came over to invite you to dinner.”

Huo Yao walked off without even looking at him. Her black coat accentuated her cool aura. Song Zhi could sense she wanted nothing to do with him.

He got worried and his voice paused instinctively. A few seconds later, he continued. “Your mother is already at the restaurant waiting for us.”

Huo Yao finally reacted when she heard Song Zhi’s last sentence. She halted briefly, tilted her head sideways, and looked at Song Zhi’s face.

She looked at him with her eyes bereft of warmth.

Song Zhi held his breath instinctively

His niece had a surprisingly powerful aura.

“Do the people from the Song family have some kind of death wish?” said Huo Yao nonchalantly.

Song Zhi was dumbstruck. His lips parted wanting to speak, but Chen Ming had already gotten off the car and walked over when he noticed the situation.

Before Song Zhi was able to speak, he stood right in front of Huo Yao protectively.

Chen Ming had a hostile aura about him. He was no ordinary thug. He looked like a formidable foe just standing there.

Song Zhi automatically took a step back fearfully. “Who are you?”

Chen Ming glanced at Song Zhi coldly. From the looks of it, Song Zhi was unable to learn his lesson previously. He ignored Song Zhi and turned to look at Huo Yao and nodded reverently. He asked softly. “Miss Huo, did you get scared?”

If she did, he would happily pummel the guy.

Huo Yao’s expression had already reverted to normal. “Nope.”

Chen Ming veered his eyes. He was disappointed that he did not get to help. He finally looked at Song Zhi and said coldly, “Get lost.”

It was true that Song Zhi was intimidated by Chen Ming, but Song Zhi was from an elite family and he had just gotten insulted. How could Song Zhi take it lying down?

Song Zhi tilted his head sideways and looked straight at Huo Yao as he said deeply, “It’s just dinner. We are family. Do you have to be so difficult?”

Huo Yao raised her hand and straightened her backpack strap. She nodded teasingly. “Family? That sure sounds novel.” She paused before she continued. “The question is, are we really family?”
