Chapter 2426: Predetermined Fate

The east wind scatters a thousand blossoms at night, and as it blows, stars fall like rain.

In order to use these weapons of mass destruction, Zu An had previously needed to be in a secret dungeon where the natural ki was especially abundant. But even though this world’s ki wasn’t as rich as that of the Imperial Tomb secret dungeon, it was still far superior to his Cultivation World. And he'd become much, much more powerful himself too. That was why there wasn’t too much of an issue for him to produce these devastating missiles.

Even though Mojard didn’t know what Dongfeng missiles were, he could clearly sense danger. The next second, he vanished from his original location.

Everyone watching was stunned. After all, Mojard was a massive beast thousands of meters tall. How could he disappear just like that? They all felt a bit of discomfort from the sudden change.

“Is it some instant teleportation skill? Is he hiding somewhere to prepare an ambush?” The Mermaid Queen was nervous, her eyes filled with worry.

Zu An’s divine sense covered the entire place. He discovered that Mojard really had left. The latter had probably used some life-saving secret skill.

That guy really is careful.

He’s clearly so strong already, and yet he still prepared something like this beforehand.

He'd actually wanted to test things out and see if he could really impact history.

Since Mojard already existed in the later world, Zu An definitely couldn't kill him. Even if he killed Mojard here, the latter didn’t really have much of a relationship with his lovers, so it was likely to be alright. But that would mean history, or fate, could be changed.

However, today’s events proved that the the alternative was more likely, that fate was already predetermined… His mood immediately worsened when he realized that. Anyone who learned that nothing they did could change a predetermined fate wouldn’t feel that great, after all.

With a wave of his hand, the Dongfeng missiles dispersed. He only left behind a single small one. It turned into a comet and fired toward the distance. Soon after, a mushroom cloud soared into the sky, turning all of the monsters within into smoke.

He'd been worried that he could end up hurting the Peacock Princess or other innocents, so he made sure to check with his divine sense beforehand. He didn’t sense her at al, though. Additionally, because two assassins had appeared in succession, the monster emissaries didn’t trust the Dragon Palace guards and had chased them all away, taking over all responsibility for their own safety... But that just allowed Zu An to catch them all in one go.

The aftereffects were powerful. If not for the fact that the Dragon Palace was made of extraordinary materials and every single palace had powerful defensive formations around it, the entire place could have been destroyed by the massive explosion. Even so, the defensive formations flickered intensely, and the palace rocked back and forth.

Many Ocean race onlookers rocked unsteadily from side to side. Even the truly strong could only barely remain upright. All of them were shocked. If even one of these weapons could produce such a result, what about the ten thousand that they'd just seen in the air? It was no wonder that even someone as powerful as Mojard would immediately choose to run.

Zu An was also a bit startled. The terrifying destructive power of the missile seemed to be quite a bit stronger than the last time. It seemed that apart from the inherent power of the weapon itself, the Rune Weapon Chart would also produce stronger weapons depending on his own strength.

Just then, the Dragon King approached him and said, “I greet your respected self. May I ask how I should address you?”

He had secretly cursed this ordinary-looking fool quite a bit inside, envying the latter for being able to receive the Mermaid Queen’s good intentions. But now that he learned just how strong the latter was, he naturally changed his attitude. This guy was actually even stronger than the Incestuous King! And he seemed to really hate the monsters too. It seemed the Dragon King now had another choice.

After all, the Dragon King had actually known fully well how reasonable the Mermaid Queen’s suggestions were. However, he also knew that even the powerful Fiend races had been defeated by the monsters, and even the Fiend Emperor who was stronger than him had died. Even though the Fiend races still had a resistance army, they were just struggling on death’s door and their destruction was imminent.

If he continued to cooperate with the Fiend races, that would only lead the Ocean races to disaster. That was why he'd figured he could only take the gamble that the monsters would comply with their promise to treat the Ocean races favorably. He'd had no choice before. But with such a powerful individual being an enemy of the monsters, he saw many potential opportunities.

The other Ocean race experts were all glad. When they heard that this person was the Mermaid Queen’s lover, they'd all been so angry that their lungs were about to explode. They'd all wanted to teach him a proper lesson, and maybe even erase him from this world forever.

Now, it seemed to have been really good that they hadn’t acted too rashly. Otherwise, he definitely wouldn't have been the one to disappear.

As expected of the Mermaid Queen. Her insight in choosing men really is astounding.

Perhaps they'd still feel some jealousy if the strength difference wasn’t too great. But with such a ridiculous gap, their jealousy naturally disappeared. They'd previously felt that they wouldn’t be convinced no matter who the Mermaid Queen chose, but it seemed they could accept this now...

“My name is a taboo. You do not need to know it.” Zu An naturally didn’t want to leave his name behind in history. After saying that, he prepared to turn around and leave.

The Dragon King choked.

This capable individual really isn’t giving me any face! 

But he didn’t dare to act up. He reflexively looked toward the Mermaid Queen, planning to ask her later on. She would definitely know if he was her man, right?

The Mermaid Queen had been feeling a bit bad that the "foolish guard" hadn’t told her his name, but when she saw the Dragon King suffer the same experience, she grinned.

I feel a bit better somehow...?

“The queen’s husband really is awesome!” Peach said quietly by the Mermaid Queen's ear with an excited expression. “Aiya!”

The Mermaid Queen pinched Peach before looking at the man in the sky with a calm expression, saying, “I still have some things to talk to you about.”

“Oh~” The Ocean race observers couldn't help but quietly heckle. Sure enough, gossip was something no one can resist, no matter whether one's strength was high or low.

Zu An’s expression froze. He didn’t really want to get too involved with the Mermaid Queen, but leaving just like this seemed to be unfavorable for her. There wee some things he did need to talk about, too. As such, he nodded and landed near her.

The Dragon King quickly chased away the other Ocean race experts. “Everything is already settled; go back and take care of the aftermath along the way.”

The Dragon Palace really had endured hardships tonight and was a huge mess. They needed some time to properly fix things. He was also worried that if they stayed behind, they would anger this mysterious expert. That was why he used this excuse to chase them away.

Either way, with the Mermaid Queen here, was there any man who could refuse her? And as long as he asked the Mermaid Queen later, a lot of his confusion would be resolved.

But when he thought about how beautiful the Mermaid Queen was, and how he had chased her for so many years, he couldn't help but feel a bit jealous. 

I hope this mysterious expert goes a bit gentler tonight…

As the onlookers left, Zu An was wondering how to sever this karma when the Mermaid Queen suddenly asked, “How are you planning to save the Peacock Princess?”
