Just as An Lin was pondering about life, Xuanyuan Cheng came to visit him again.
“Student An Lin, I just met Tang Shiyuan. From her expression, I could tell you guys had a really happy conversation, tell me about how far you’ve progressed.” Xuanyuan Cheng looked at An Lin with a gentle expression, but the curiosity on his face was plain to see.
An Lin’s chest tightened again at his words.
A happy conversation? She sure was happy, I almost rage quit!
“It was OK, we’re still just ordinary friends at the moment.” An Lin forced a smile onto his face.
Xuanyuan Cheng patted An Lin’s shoulder with a look of encouragement on his face. “I support you, Student An Lin, I’m sure you’ll find the happiness that belongs to you!”
An Lin nodded his head. He always felt as if Xuanyuan Cheng paid a little too much attention to his relationship status.
But he did not think too much of this. The events between himself and Tang Shiyuan had reached a conclusion anyway, so now it was time to find a place to have some fun and relax.
Hmm… where to go?
An Lin thought of the ten thousand feet waterfall on the Heavenly Dawn Peak. The scenery was exquisite there, so it should be a good place to visit.
Thus, he flew towards the Heavenly Dawn Peak alone on his brick.
Where were Da Bai and Xiao Chou, you ask?
Da Bai was sleeping.
Xiao Chou had most likely clambered onto some tree to meditate. After all, attaining a domain was no simple task.
The Heavenly Dawn Peak had the best scenery out of all the peaks. Climbing up from the foot of the mountain, one could discover many examples of superlative workmanship on the way to the summit.
That was exactly what An Lin did. He flew to the foot of the mountain on his brick, where he then began to do some hiking.
On the way to the summit, the surroundings were filled with trees, chirping birds, and the scent of flowers as well as a light breeze as accompaniment.
From the other side of the mountain, the sound of a waterfall could be heard, forming a unique rhythm and giving the whole place a sense of vastness and serenity.
He hummed a light-hearted tune as he began to climb up the mountain.
It was always good to do more outdoors exercise when in a bad mood. The activity would make it easier to release any negative emotions.
An Lin’s pointless wandering helped him slowly forget the trauma of the spirit stones, and his mood began to improve markedly.
Just as An Lin was happily appreciating the scenery around him, he suddenly discovered an interesting young man atop a tree.
The man wore a white robe and had an eye-catching head of silver hair. His skin was white as snow and puffs of frosty air drifted out of his mouth.
He lied on a branch, splaying out both his hands, on the palms of which were balls of blue light which then transformed into a series of intriguing ice sculptures.
The ice sculpture first took on the shape of an eagle before it assumed the shape of a cat and lastly into that of a dolphin. The ice sculptures transitioned seamlessly between shapes and forms; it was quite an interesting spectacle to behold.
Lastly, a blue flower exuding frosty air appeared in his palm.
Their eyes met and the blue ice flower slowly floated towards An Lin.
An Lin was little taken aback but still cupped the little flower in his hand with an unsure expression. “For me?”
The silver-haired man nodded.
This was the first time An Lin had received a flower from another man so his emotions were a little bit complicated…
But he still thanked the man politely. “Thank you.”
The silver-haired man smiled lightly. “You’re welcome, it’s going to melt in a few seconds anyway.”
“Huh?” An Lin blinked in confusion.
Splash!
The blue flower suddenly melted and splashed An Lin with cold water, sending cold water cascading down to his pants.
An Lin: “…”
A prank? This is definitely a prank!
You wanna fight me?
The silver-haired man remained expressionless at An Lin’s furious expression as he continued to conjure up different ice sculptures in his hands.
An Lin grimaced upon seeing this but did not say anything.
His objective was to have fun and relax, not get into a fight. So he shrugged his shoulders and continued upward along the mountain path.
After a while, he came to a patch of open, flat ground.
There were many sect disciples training there, creating a lively scene.
Much to his surprise, he even saw Kuang Re meditating quietly beside a small creek.
He did not expect the violent and menacing Kuang Re to be able to exhibit such a calm and quiet side to him.
He was not sure why, but a phrase suddenly appeared in his mind: to be static and unmoving as a rock, but also to be as active as a pouncing rabbit when the situation required.
He shook his head and continued onward to the summit of the Heavenly Dawn Peak.
At the summit, there was a Frosty Demon-Sealing Tower.
The tower itself was a translucent white, appearing especially dazzling and mystical under the light of the sun. There were also flashes of rainbow light fluttering occasionally across the tower, creating a very beautiful scene.
An Lin had been in awe of at the sight of the tower from afar. Now that he had reached the summit, he could appreciate the scenery from close up.
After strolling for a while longer, the sun began to set below the horizon. The sky began to transition into twilight and a striking sunset appeared over the horizon.
There were many clouds in the sky, all of which were stained red by the sunset and changing shape constantly.
The color of the sunset was also constantly changing. One moment, it appeared like bunches of fluffy white cotton, the next moment it would transform into golden waves. A short while later, it took on the form of a beautiful Celestial Maiden in a vibrant red dress dancing across the sky.
“How interesting, who would have thought the sunset could be so gorgeous?”
An Lin halted in his steps and looked up in marvel at the sunset in the sky.
However, the clouds in the sky soon began to condense, changing from gold to red before taking on a dark red hue in the end.
“Is it going to rain?” An Lin furrowed his brows and turned his attention away from the sunset before continuing up towards the summit.
On the side of the mountain, the silver-haired young man stared up silently at the condensing clouds in the sky. The ice sculpture in his hand once again transformed into a little blue flower exuding waves of frosty cold.
“Is it about to begin?” He spoke in a cold emotionless voice.
The blue flower in his hand rose with the wind, flying over the forest.
In the distance, a ten thousand foot waterfall descended into the water below, creating a rumbling roar. The twilight glow imbued it with a layer of beautiful colors. Just as a cloud of mist exploded forth from the waterfall, the blue flower floated into the waterfall like a speck of dust falling into the ocean.
And then, there was silence.
The rumbling waterfall slowly began to freeze over along with the countless water droplets in the sky…
Crack!
A faint blue light began to expand outwards, freezing everything in its wake.
The blue light worked very quickly, freezing the massive waterfall into a frosty wall of silver in a mere instant. Under the light of the setting sun, the waterfall gave off a faint silver light.
The waterfall had been completely frozen to form a wall of silver, emanating extremely low temperatures.
The Heavenly Dawn Peak fell into silence as the waterfall froze over. It had never been this quiet before; the silence itself was lifeless and deafening.
An Lin was still on his way to the summit when he suddenly saw translucent white feathers fell from the sky.
He extended a hand, catching one of the feathers in his palm, only to have it melt away immediately, leaving a frosty trail in its wake.
“It’s snowing?”
