Chapter 524 - I Miss The Past
Chapter 524: I Miss The Past
“No…”
Zhu Daoshen didn’t even care about his granddaughter who had just woken up. He pounced on the ground with red eyes and roared out crazily, “You can’t die. You can’t.”
He had been hopeful from the start until now.
When he saw his granddaughter wake up, he knew that hope was real. Moreover, he trusted He Yin.
After all, apart from him, who else could he hope for to save his granddaughter?
“What are you standing there for? Save him.” Zhu Daoshen hollered in rage. He was like a fierce beast who wanted to swallow the commander up.
How did the commander know that things would turn out like this?
“He is already dead.”
He attacked personally, so he obviously knew the outcome. Moreover, He Yin was only at Void Realm, so how could he survive from a furious hit of his?
Honglong!
Suddenly, Zhu Daoshen charged forwards and struck the commander’s stomach. With a peng, a hole appeared in the wall.
“Damn!”
Wu Zhige was totally stunned. Crazy, he went totally mad.
For some reason, he felt that things had become really complicated.
Zhu Daoshen stood over the commander, landing punch after punch on the commander’s face.
“You jerk.”
Each punch landed and it covered the commander’s face in blood.
The commander didn’t fight back as he wanted Zhu Daoshen to vent his rage.
Wu Zhige saw the commander raise his hand.
Even if his face became bloody, he told Wu Zhige not to attack. His intention was obvious. He wanted Zhu Daoshen to vent his anger.
Wu Zhige was helpless and sighed.
At the same time, he didn’t understand how such a weak person did it.
A revival technique shouldn’t have existed at all.
But reality was right in front of their eyes. They had personally witnessed it, so they had to believe it.
Zhu Daoshen was so furious for a reason.
He had hope, but today, the commander extinguished it.
Suddenly, Wu Zhige realized that the little brat was weird and her expression was rigid like she was in a sort of spell.
“Oi, oi, stop fighting. Come over and take a look. The situation doesn’t seem right.”
When Zhu Daoshen heard Wu Zhige’s words, he got up and came beside the bed, “Baby, what happened? Don’t scare grandpa.”
To him, the most important thing was his granddaughter. Everything else didn’t matter at all.
“Listen up, if anything happens to her, I can bear with it once but not twice.” Zhu Daoshen looked towards the commander in rage.
When he saw Zhu Daoshen’s expression, the commander realized that what he did was just so stupid.
If something really happened, he definitely wouldn’t doubt whether or not Zhu Daoshen had the courage.
The commander wanted to speak but he stopped. Although he was expressionless, he was filled with regret deep down. He looked at his right hand and really wanted to chop it off.
He was really dumb.
If he was a few seconds late, the outcome would have been very different.
“Calm down, calm down, we didn’t want this to happen.” Wu Zhige persuaded. Actually, he didn’t even want to and just wanted to scold the commander. Are you stupid? Luckily, I didn’t attack, otherwise, Zhu Daoshen would have chopped me into pieces.
The commander was like a child that had made a mistake.
He sat there innocently, neither leaving or staying. He didn’t know what to do.
“Grandfather…”
A kid with a rigid expression regained her past vitality. At the same time, the terrifying wounds on her body were recovering.
This both shocked and surprised Zhu Daoshen.
At the same time, the commander became angrier and angrier. He heard He Yin’s words before he died, that this was just the start.
Zhu Daoshen showed a doting expression as he hugged her, “Don’t be afraid. Everything is fine, everything is fine.”
Wu Zhige dragged the commander out.
What was the point in them staying there now?
“Was I out of hand?” The commander was in deep thought as he asked.
“Keke.” Wu Zhige laughed and patted his shoulder, “You are the Alliance commander, so how can you be out of hand? As long as you are happy…”
The commander thought that Wu Zhige would console him but his words nearly made him spit out blood. Could a human even say such words?
“You…”
He wanted to say something but there was nothing he could say. This was probably the most frustrated he had felt in recent times.
It was just unbearable.
Wu Zhige walked to the door and turned his head, “If I were you, I would investigate who you just killed and see whether or not such a technique exists. I will then pay any price to find that technique.”
Now that such a thing happened, it made Wu Zhige feel that this whole matter was really complicated. Maybe in the future, Zhu Daoshen would kill the commander for this.
Such a thing was so terrifying that no one could stop it.
Wu Zhige’s words sounded really bad but it sounded reasonable to the commander.
The commander really wanted to save the situation.
He seemed really calm but he was actually panicking more than everyone else.
He had to settle this situation, otherwise, things would definitely go south.
A few days later, at Martial Path Mountain.
“Father, why are you here again?” Lin Fan was a litte confused when he saw that it was his father. Without his father by his side, he was so casual and relaxed.
In his words, before he found his father, he treated him as a baby and was afraid of anything happening to him.
Now, after he found his father, those thoughts dissipated.
Of course, he didn’t have to worry about his father’s safety.
Brother Xiao was just such a coward and didn’t think about restoring the former Imperial Dynasty. Even if his father tried to help, he had to have a reason for doing so. For example, creating a small force to restore glory to the former Imperial Dynasty under prince Xiao Qi’s name.
But unfortunately, he didn’t have such a force now.
The key was that he was poaching Father’s experts one after another. Maybe one day he would pull Old Ancestor Zhao and Old Ancestor Su over.
Lin Wanyi frowned, “What? As your father, I can’t come to see you?”
Lin Fan smiled, “Father, I didn’t mean that. I was just asking.”
“I heard that you faced trouble at the border and the Alliance Headquarters had such a strong weapon?” Lin Wanyi asked. He had fought the Alliance many times and had never heard of them having such a weapon.
Even Dao Realm Stage Seven experts couldn’t block it.
If the Alliance really had such a weapon, then why didn’t they use it when they attacked the border. Why did they have to wait until now?
Lin Fan told his father about the situation.
When Lin Wanyi heard the details, his expression changed. If that was the case, then things would really be terrifying.
As for why the Alliance didn’t use it then, firstly the commander wouldn’t agree. Moreover, the Alliance Headquarters wanted to take down the border and occupy land to get resources. They didn’t want to destroy the land.
Lin Fan and Father had a chat and the sky slowly turned dark. Gou’zi went to prepare dishes. Old Master came, so he obviously had to cook something good.
In front of the dining table.
“I noticed that more and more people are moving close to Martial Path Mountain.” Zhu Shen was curious. He had nothing much to do every day, so he just roamed around Martial Path Mountain’s territory. Last night, he realized that many villagers had appeared hundreds of miles away.
It seemed like the people of City of Darkness had listened to his orders and moved here.
This was a good thing.
“The movement now is a little huge and many commoners have lost their homes. It is good that they moved here, but we have to take care of them too.” Zhao Lishan said.
Lin Fan smiled.
If Zhao Lishan knew how terrifying their cultivation was, he probably wouldn’t have thought that.
“Father, the four alliances are wary of the Alliance and this won’t be solved so easily. There will be a huge war, so we just need to watch them fight. We don’t have to worry about anything else.” Lin Fan said.
The only fortunate thing was that the four alliances weren’t united.
If they really were, there was no doubt that the Alliance would be destroyed.
Even if they had the Star Level Energy, it was useless. A bunch of experts were charging into Alliance Headquarters and they would be able to wipe them out.
But such a situation was just a dream.
Not only the sect leaders of the top sects, but even the normal and average sect leaders loved themselves. They wanted others to charge first while they would just watch from the back.
If things went south, he would consider whether or not to attack.
Lin Wanyi said, “There probably won’t be a conflict. With my understanding of the sects, without absolute profits, they won’t do anything.”
Lin Fan didn’t believe, “How is that possible? The sect leaders from the four alliances have been bullied so badly and still won’t try to take revenge?”
“Keke, son, you are just too young. The four alliances know where Martial Path Mountain is but did you see people come here? They know your strength and after the lesson they learned previously, they won’t dare to try anything careless.” Lin Wanyi said.
Lin Fan thought about it. It did make sense.
But if that was the case, then the four alliances were just cowards, right?
If they wanted to unlock the whole situation, it seemed like he had to strike proactively.
Lin Fan was deep in thought. This was problematic and he had to think about it.
Just as he was thinking about all this the commander left the Alliance and personally came to Corpse God Sect to search for the secret technique that He Yin talked about. Unfortunately, none of the disciples he found knew anything about it.
This infuriated him and he even thought about killing some of them to threaten them.
But he suppressed that rage.
He used huge rewards to tempt them.
But to those disciples, they really didn’t know about the technique. If the sect really had it, they wouldn’t be having such a terrible time.
The commander came to the book depository and browsed through everything in hopes to find the technique.
But unfortunately, even if he searched the entire sect, he couldn’t find anything.
For some reason, this made him panic.
Imperial Dynasty.
King Wutong screamed. His body was really unstable like it would shatter at any moment.
He didn’t know what happened that day.
He didn’t even see the enemy.
He just heard an explosion.
A bright light exploded and even the sky was torn. He thought that experts were fighting and that caused such a terrifying scene.
Shortly after, something he didn’t dare to imagine occured.
A shockwave spread out which caused the ground to shake. Every visible thing was being destroyed, and when he wanted to run, it was too late.
One felt a destructive power crushing his entire body.
And then… There was nothing.
He just fainted.
When he woke up, he didn’t know where he was either. The pain in his body told him that he had suffered bad injuries.
His body was shattered and half of it was gone.
He dragged his badly injured body back to the Imperial Dynasty.
King Wutong was terrified and filled with panic. Facing such an attack, he felt that he was just so minute and minuscule.
In the secret room.
“Evil God, Evil God…” King Wutong hollered. His voice spread through the room.
Not long later, the Evil God statue gave off the weird glow.
“How pitiful and tragic.” Evil God’s voice spread from the statue.
Those words were an insult to King Wutong. It was like a sword that stabbed into his heart.
But now, it wasn’t important at all.
“Save me! Evil God, save me.” King Wutong said.
He tried many things to recover his broken body but none of them worked.
Even if he absorbed experts, it was totally useless. It was like there was a shocking power attached to his wound that was destroying his life force.
“Why should I save you? You are too useless. You have such ability but your cultivation is rising so slowly. I really look down on you.” Evil God was filled with disdain.
In Evil God’s words, you are the worst person I have tried to nurture.
He had no brain at all.
He had such an ability but his cultivation was rising so slowly.
He wasn’t even Dao Realm yet.
Go eat sh*t!
Although raising cultivation quickly would be problematic, how was there even a shortcut at all?
Actually, King Wutong realized that as he got stronger, his mentality started to change. Such a feeling couldn’t be described with words.
In the end, he would probably turn into a madman, a bloodthirsty lunatic.
“Save me…”
King Wutong didn’t want to die. There were things he hadn’t done yet. He still hadn’t completed the mission that his brother gave him.
He couldn’t die.
He definitely couldn’t die.
Evil God laughed, “This is tough. How am I supposed to save you like this. But you can beg me to save me. Maybe if I feel good, then I will pull you back from the verge of death.”
He didn’t need such a trash pawn.
He had a better pawn now.
“Please, save me… I don’t want to die.” King Wutong placed down all his pride and he only wanted to live now.
Evil God said, “Beg me like a dog.”
King Wutong was unwilling. His remaining hand held him up as he laid on the ground and struggled. In his mind, he replayed the scene of his brother’s final words before he died.
“Sir Evil God, I am a loyal dog by your side. Please save me, I don’t want to die.”
King Wutong buried his head and his voice was hoarse.
“Hahaha.” Evil God laughed sinisterly. He thought about it and maybe this pawn was useful. Although he had a better pawn, if something happened with it, then wouldn’t everything go to waste?
He should have given him a chance.
“Okay, since that is the case, then I shall save you but you must cherish this. You won’t be so lucky next time.”
The moment he said this, a bright light exploded from the Evil God statue which covered King Wutong.
The power was really mysterious.
King Wutong’s injuries were being recovered at a visible speed.
“Recovered.”
King Wutong smiled and clenched his fingers. His body was filled with power.
Evil God said, “Remember this. You are improving too slowly. You need to swallow more experts to become stronger.”
“So much time has passed and you are not even Dao Realm. In my eyes, you are trash.”
“Comprehend such words. I hope that you can satisfy me next time.”
Instantly, King Wutong felt his eyes black out. When light appeared once more, he actually appeared outside.
This shocked him and filled him with astonishment.
But he hesitated deep down.
Get stronger.
This meant that he had to give up on humanity. This wasn’t what he needed as he had to complete his brother’s mission for him while being able to think for himself.
“Maybe I’ll be able to withstand it.” King Wutong muttered to himself.
Anticipation without any strength was just a dream.
One had to be confident. If you weren’t, then you wouldn’t even know how much of a trash you were.
At this moment, Zhu Daoshen was happy about his granddaughter. But he was also worried as he didn’t know what He Yin meant.
What changes would there be afterward?
Outside, the sky was dark. Occassionally, lightning would slash across the sky.
Enter the villa.
Zhu Daoshen hugged a doll. He had placed down everything else and nothing outside mattered to him. He just wanted to accompany his granddaughter.
He walked to the entrance and was prepared to enter.
He frowned slightly as a bloody smell spread out from within.
He panicked and thought that something happened. He pushed the door and entered.
The hall was pitch black and occassionally the light hanging from the ceiling would flash.
“Where… Where is she.”
Zhu Daoshen panicked. Why was the hall so dark? Where were the nannies?
Damn.
Who was the one who did it?
In the dark corner, there was the sound of chewing. One could see someone squatting at the corner.
“Who’s there?”
Zhu Daoshen hollered.
“Grandfather…”
It was his granddaughter’s voice which made him heave a sigh of relief. “Good girl, don’t be afraid. Grandfather is back.”
“Grandfather, I am hungry.”
The person walked over.
“Don’t worry, I will cook your favorite food.” Zhu Daoshen was thinking about where the nannies were. Those damn nannies, I will punish them later for actually tossing the princess in the dark corner of the hall.
There was a loud explosion.
Lightning slashed across the sky and lit up the dark room.
Zhu Daoshen’s expression changed. He saw his granddaughter holding a bloody hand. The clothing on the arm was the nanny’s clothing…
“How did this happen?”
Zhu Daoshen was shocked. He retreated in disbelief.
“Grandfather, I am afraid.”
Shortly after, Zhu Daoshen squatted down and hugged his granddaughter. He touched her hand, “Don’t worry, there is no need to be afraid.”
He thought about He Yin’s words.
Was this the repercussions?
If that was the case, then even if his granddaughter wanted to eat someone, it was not important. Everything was okay as long as she was alive.
Pata!
The light in the room lit up.
Where Zhu Daoshen’s gaze passed, there were three incomplete corpses laying in a pool of blood.
There was a scream.
The nanny who was hiding had an ashen white face as she shouted in panic.
“Grandfather, Little Miss is a monster, a human eating monster.”
“Run, Little Miss is a monster.”
The nannies ran towards the door.
They wanted to leave this place and tell others that Little Miss was a human-eating monster.
Zhu Daoshen didn’t move. He just hugged his granddaughter. His usually calm gaze flashed with killing intent.
With a puchi, the nannies who were about to reach the door received the hit from the invisible power and instantly exploded.
Zhu Daoshen said, “Little Miss is not a monster. She just… Doesn’t like to eat vegetables. But no matter what she becomes, she will always be my baby, my good granddaughter.”
Kachi!
The door closed.
The nannies hiding in the various rooms all shuddered. Zhu Daoshen could only kill them all to not allow this to be leaked.
His granddaughter needed to live as a normal person.
Evil God over in Imperial Dynasty was in deep thought.
Were the restraints of love just so terrifying?
He had only slightly revealed a small bit of his not so good tendencies.
Who knew that humans could accept so much?
Such a good grandfather…
As expected, he was much better than that trash King Wutong.
The next day, Wu Zhige came to find Zhu Daoshen and told him that there wasn’t any secret technique over at Corpse God Sect. Although it was a blow, they had no choice.
But when he came to Zhu Daoshen’s villa, he had a really weird feeling.
It was hard to pinpoint.
He didn’t dare to say anything.
Even the nannies were gone.
Zhu Daoshen told him that they needed peace and quiet, so all of them were sacked.
Wu Zhige consoled Zhu Daoshen but he still found things weird.
When he left, he turned around and looked at the huge villa. It was terrifyingly quiet and he felt that there was a problem.
With his Dao Realm Stage Seven cultivation, his sensory ability was really strong.
This was why even if he sensed that there were problems, he didn’t want to delve deeper into it.
Martial Path Mountain.
“Son, are you like this every day?”
Lin Wanyi had spent a period of time here and saw what Fan’er was doing when he was not by his side.
He really knew how to enjoy himself.
Where did this maid come from?
Not bad.
But was she doing something a human should do?
He made her massage him.
Each day he just ate, drank, and played. He even carried a tea jug and walked around, drinking when he was thirsty.
Such a life was so good.
Even Lin Wanyi envied him.
But his conditions didn’t allow him to do the same.
“Right father, this is the good life. But compared to You City, it lacks humanity. Who knows when I’ll be able to return?”
Lin Fan looked at the sky and reminisced.
He might have been strong now, becoming a sect leader and having a bunch of experts following him.
But truthfully speaking, he still loved the times when he was free and had no worries. He would con and cheat his dad when he had nothing to do.
