Chapter 461: So It Begins (1)
Chapter 461: So It Begins (1)
“..sorry to say this but, I wouldn’t make the same reckless mistake you did in the past”
“Hmmp!”
Monk just snorted before shifting the subject to the obvious one at hand, “So when do we start?”
“A few more minutes, let’s observe them more”
A little while earlier.
“Dear, do you have any idea why sir Jung-jin called all of us to gather here tonight?” asked a seductive looking woman while holding onto the arm of her partner and wearing a red gown that shows off her curves and those deep white valley in between.
With a face that screams of slyness, the man accompanying the woman slightly smiled and replied, “It’s probably some talks regarding the election this year”
Listening to his words, the woman’s eyes quickly lit up and she whispered beside his ears, “Could it be..there’s finally a chance that he would support you in your candidacy to run as an Assemblyman?”
The man tried to play it cool, but the anticipation in his eyes couldn’t be hidden until the mask was slowly broken when his lips slowly curved up into a disgusting looking smile.
An almost similar conversation was also taking place with the others, and a lot of them have bright expressions on their faces, while there’s also a few who have grim expressions on their faces as they would constantly look around their surroundings, especially towards the dark areas where the light coming from the lamp post couldn’t reach.
“That would certainly be good news if it is” the man chuckled, though he didn’t let the idea get into his head since he wasn’t the only person that was called up tonight, and he has a hunch that something big is going to happen tonight, though he couldn’t quite put the uncomfortable feeling that he’s having the moment he step foot inside the mansion.
‘It’s like there are pair of eyes looking at me just when we had arrived earlier’
Except for the security detail inside, the main stars for tonight were not inside the moment they walked in, and as the man looked around inside, he finally noticed the CCTV cameras inside every corner of the mansion and quickly came to conclusion that the feeling of being watched that he felt earlier probably came from CCTV cameras deployed all over the place.
No one can really blame his paranoia as the man is a politician and getting placed on the headlines for tomorrow’s news is something that he doesn’t want to see.
‘I think I’m just being paranoid tonight, but where are they?’
His partner was busy chatting with the others, and the man just kept looking around the spacious living room they were in while doing some small talk from time to time.
Meanwhile, outside of the mansion.
“Where did those three go? Hmm, could it be that there is an underground room or bunker below?”
Monk was mumbling to himself while watching the people “party” inside the mansion through the scope of his rifle.
On the other hand, Sun Bin who heard his mumblings replied with the following words, “Of course that’s a given. A already good example is their tempered glass walls they installed all over the house”
Monk just glared at her and replied, “I’m just monologuing to myself, woman. I’m bored, so don’t interrupt me”
Sun Bin rolled her eyes and said, “Suit yourself, but we’ll start in five minutes the moment those three appears”
“You’ve got any information on what they are planning to do tonight?” Monk asked while keeping an eye on their targets.
Sun Bin shook her head and said, “Nothing, their counter espionage is air tight. So I have no clear idea about their plans tonight except for the information that they would have a gathering here”
Raising an eyebrow, Monk replied, “Airtight? You even got us all the way here and even got the information about their secret gathering”
Slightly tilting her head to the side while giving a shrug, Sun Bin said, “We reached a bottleneck after that. Even with the organization’s resources, we really can’t underestimate these groups of giants, their core is not easy to penetrate even after many years of trying. Like their ability to cover up things, they are also that good at hiding things that could jeopardize them”
“They’re here”
Inside the mansion.
Due to the soft music in the background and the chatter happening in between the guests, they didn’t notice the approaching guest coming out from the kitchen(?).
Fortunately, the few guests who were standing near the kitchen quickly noticed the new arrivals, though startled, they immediately gave their greetings that also attracted the attention of the others inside.
“Sir!”
“Good evening sir!”
“Sirs!”
While being showered with greetings from the people on all sides, Kwong Jung-jin was smiling from ear to ear while the other two just wore their usual poker faces as they made their way towards the middle of the spacious living room.
“Good evening gentlemen! And ladies~, I’m sure a lot of you are confused about why we gathered you here tonight with no prior notice”
Standing before his people, Kwon Jung-jin greeted them with a smile.
“As all of you already know, I don’t like beating around the bush, but before we get on with the main subject tonight. I’d like to introduce to you gentlemen to two of my very important friends, so keep your eyes peeled and make sure to remember their faces so that you don’t offend them in the future”
“This is Mr. Richard Rothschild and Mr. Grom Biden! Be honored to be even able to see them, since they are the patriarchs of their family! I don’t even need to explain since I’m pretty sure all of you here have already heard of their illustrious families, right?”
Looking at that obnoxious smile on Jung-jin’s face, the people spying on them from outside were disgusted and had the urge to strangle him for good.
“Traitorous bastard”
