Comrade: Almost a Cat-astrophic Love Story

A thud.

Just as Pei Zhen spoke, the sound of a cup falling onto the ground could be heard coming from the doorway.

Pei Zhen froze and reflexively looked in the direction of the sound.

It was Fu Sichen.

Fu Sichen was just back from getting water when he ran into the scene of his love lightly holding the side of the girl’s face and saying something about love.

I’m the person you love.

“Best… Best Actor Fu.” The leading lady realized Fu Sichen’s presence. She turned red. “I… Teacher Pei, he…”

“I know.” Not allowing the leading lady a chance to explain, Fu Sichen bent over to pick up the cup in a calm manner. “You were analyzing the film scene.”

Fu Sichen had made a correct guess, although that somehow caused the leading lady to feel a little regretful. Of course, she didn’t dare to make it too obvious, but mumbled, “Pei… Mr. Pei Zhen’s an accomplished actor, so I found the courage to ask questions and learn from him.”

Saying that, she couldn’t help stealing a look at Pei Zhen, turning red from the tips of her ears to her shoulders. Young girls were so simple-minded and easy to read.

Fu Sichen laughed icily inwardly but forced a gentle smile on his face. “If you have any problems, you can ask me.”

The leading lady was stunned and overwhelmed by the suggestion. “No… I won’t trouble you, Best Actor Fu…”

“It’s no trouble.” Best Actor Fu smiled, appearing extremely patient and mild-tempered. “I’m just a producer today, as I’m not filming.”

“Errr…”

“Just feel free. Pei Zhen just got drenched for nothing, and he’s tired.” Saying that, a look of realization dawned on Fu Sichen’s face. “Or, is it that you don’t trust me? You think my acting skills aren’t as good as Pei Zhen’s?”

He was Best Actor for three consecutive years, how bad could his acting skills be?!

Fu Sichen was just setting her up and putting her on the spot.

No matter how the young leading lady answered the question, it would’ve been the wrong one. Feeling trapped, she panicked and started to fumble for words. Clutching the hem of her shirt, she was almost in tears.

“Didn’t the director ask for you earlier?” Pei Zhen broke the stalemate situation. He ignored Fu Sichen’s glare and created a way out for her. “Hurry up then.”

“Oh, yes, yes,” she said, relieved that he rescued her. She cast Pei Zhen a grateful glance and left in haste.

There were only Pei Zhen and Fu Sichen in the resting room.

As expected, the moment the leading lady left, Fu Sichen, whom a moment ago looked gentle, was glaring angrily at Pei Zhen. He was also feeling a little hurt. “Why was she here?”

“To discuss the scene.” The door to the resting room was open, and Pei Zhen felt their privacy was exposed. He walked over to shut the door. “Didn’t you want to give her some acting pointers? What’s the point of asking such a question?”

“Oh, and teaching involves pinching her chin?” He followed behind Pei Zhen as he walked. Recalling the scene he walked in on annoyed him all over again. “Were you misleading her so that she would fall for you?”

Fall for him?

Pei Zhen didn’t quite understand the remark and turned around, almost knocking into Fu Sichen who was still following close behind.

There was hardly any space between the two men. Pei Zhen was a few centimeters shorter than Fu Sichen, so when he turned, Fu Sichen’s lips brushed against his hair. His expression clouded over for a few moments.

He lifted his head slightly and felt his chest tightening with the growing ambiguity. Pei Zhen subconsciously took a step backward, but with a snap, Fu Sichen extended one of his hand and rested it on the door. He was almost encircling Pei Zhen in an embrace.

“Hey.” Pei Zhen felt his face heating up, but he refused to shy away. Steadily, he said to Fu Sichen, “Don’t wrongfully accuse me, when did I mislead her into falling for me?”

“Imagine I’m the person you love… isn’t that so?!” Fu Sichen glared at him accusingly. “You’ve never even misled me that way.”

Pei Zhen was stunned speechless.
