Chapter 388
Chapter 388: The Underworld King
“You what?” Marc Gavin took swallowed some tea and scolded Qian Jin. “You are in Torrent Battle Fort now and you are a worthy successor! How can you not tell me about this? You think I’m not powerful enough to settle this for you?”
Out of awkwardness, Qian Jin made a sheepish grin. He had caused enough disturbance for this organization. Although the Blacksmith Union and the Rays had been kept at bay, there were still uncertainties.
He couldn’t bother Marc Gavin with this mess under such circumstances. No matter how influential the battle fort was, it was still difficult to deal with three other forces at the same time, especially without the Saint Warrior Fabreidis being here.
“Marc, I’m thinking of to paying a visit to the Mayor. I have planned to explain this to him personally. If it comes to it, I’ll cover the medical costs for him.”
“Medical costs? You think he can’t afford it himself? Though a man can’t have too much money…” The bear grabbed the teapot and took some sips from the spout. “Kid, York Leigh is, after all, the Mayor. Think about this, if you were him and Rosella was beaten by someone…”
Qian Jin was infuriated by this thought. Who dared to hurt my girl?
“You should grab a mirror and look at your face.” Marc Gavin drummed on the table with his fingers. “Now you know how the Mayor will feel about this.”
“Well, your girl has already hit his woman and his squires are now not in one piece at all,” said Marc Gavin. “If you want to adopt a four-square approach, you have my backing.”
“We can apologize!” Gomez Jane said as the first wife. “After all, Rosella has to do business here in this city.”
Qian Jin frowned. Apologize to that woman?
“Technically,” Gomez Jane continued in a peaceful voice, “We are there to see the Mayor and to tell this whole city that we have already extended our apologies. In this way, the Mayor could save his face. As for Situ Yixiao, she doesn’t have to be there.”
Qian Jin just sat there without knowing what to say. He could be very talkative when it came to the stories of the strong warriors in the past times or the experience of being a warrior. But with human nature? He had to admit Gomez Jane was a woman of more worldly wisdom.
“Alright.” Marc Gavin nodded. “I have planned to invite the Mayor here for dinner. But I didn’t know you are willing to go and apologize.”
Qian Jin shrugged. He didn’t care about this at all. If that bitch hadn’t crossed the line, he wouldn’t want to mess with the Mayor.
But it had already become like this… Qian Jin didn’t make much account of this… Having seen Qian Zhanxuan who was much more overbearing and powerful, Qian Jin wouldn’t be that nervous as a rookie when he dealt with men of high positions.
“Okay, I’ll go and talk to Leigh first.” Marc Gavin walked towards the door snatching the teapot in his hand. After he managed to squeeze himself out of the tiny opening, he turned around and asked, “Right, I have already sucked on this teapot. You don’t want it back, do you? ”
Qian Jin made a Help-Yourself gesture and the bear left with a smiley face! Rosella grunted. “That’s the ninth one…”
The ninth one? What did that mean? Qian Jin looked at Rosella. “Are you saying that every time he comes here, he’ll leave with a teapot?”
The girl answered with a silent nod. Qian Jin was shocked! Did the president of Torrent Battle Fort had a hobby of collecting teapots?
“Were the teapots different?” Qian Jin asked.
“It seems so…” Rosella turned to Qian Jin in surprise. “Are you saying…?”
“It seems he collects teapots! Next time, you put a teapot exactly the same as the one he took today.”
Rosella looked at Gomez Jane for help while the first wife said. “We don’t have a second one at our house.”
“Go buy another one.” Qian Jin curled his lips. “Check out what kind of teapot Marc is using. We’ll buy the same one.”
“The most common one! It costs ten coppers coins.” Gomez Jane answered. “Maybe eleven.”
Qian Jin thumped on the table. “Then we’ll get the same one.” He looked up at the sky and thought he should get going now. It was a long way from here to Jun Wudo’s mansion.
“I have to go and meet the underworld king now.”
The four girls saw him off at the gate of the Torrent Battle Fort, which caught the envious eyes of the passing warriors.
It was hard enough to find a beauty. But look at Qian Jin, four at a time! And they seemed to get along with each other!
Every force in Yulee had its own territory. The city was like a cake and every force had its own slice.
Wudo Group was adjacent to the Torrent Battle Fort but there was still a distance between the two locations. Pulling out the invitation, Qian Jin confirmed the address for the second time and spurred the warhorse onwards.
Unlike small towns, there was always a side street next to the main road in big cities. It was for the horse and the carriage.
Generally speaking, the underworld forces in most cities acted in a relatively subtle way. But Wudo Group was an exception! It was completely exhumed and thrown open freely to the light of day.
Standing in front of the gate, Qian Jin found it was not as magnificent as that of the Torrent Battle Fort, nor as scholarly as that of Punitive Expedition Academy. Instead, it was like an opening mouth of a beast which could intimidate most Demon Beasts with the power to devour the whole world.
The two gatekeepers, like Qian Jin, were also in black warrior suits and even the belts were of the same color.
Qian Jin looked at them and himself. They all looked much the same. Wouldn’t the Wudo Group think of him being here to challenge them?
“Excuse me, I’m here to see Mr. Jun Wudo…” Qian Jin handed the invitation over and the two gatekeepers put on a faint smile all at once. They moved aside as to make way for him. “Mr. Qian Jin, right? Mr. Jun Wudo is expecting you.”
No one was to report and no one to lead the way. Wudo Group was quite out of the ordinary.
But the internal building was anything but ordinary! The floor, as well as the walls of the entryway, were carved with cruel scenes of the Human-Demon Battlefront! The protagonists were all armed ordinary warriors with blood all over their bodies!
There were all life-and-death fights, some critical moments and comrades falling down…
They were not created by great artists but they were simple but true… Walking in that tunnel, one would know how a warrior lived his life.
The Human-Demon Battlefront scene was replaced by the survival of this warrior in the city after Qian Jin had walked halfway. It told the story about how a warrior who had left the battlefield was struggling in the city.
It suddenly occurred to Qian Jin maybe these carved bricks were a part of Jun Wudo’s life! Although this underground force had no profound heritages like others, it had something exclusive to itself.
Through the promenade, Qian Jin suddenly had a fine extensive view. It was a very large hall, in which stood nearly one hundred men in black clothes and black belts!
Looking around, the whole room was black with the members of Wudo Group in addition to a red spot.
After a quick survey, Qian Jin found every one of them looked murderous. The arms hanging around their waist were ready to be pulled out for a fight.
The pair of eyes ran across the crowd and finally fell on the red spot. The man, who Qian Jin had met but did not know that well was sitting there on the black king’s seat.
It’s Jun Wudo! The long and ferocious scar which had extended from the corner of an eye to the neck belonged only to that man! He smiled. The underworld air together with the scar made the expression more hideous.
But the girl standing next to the king was more appealing! Like every other beautiful girl, the one also had a pair of slender thighs, thin waist, and nice figure that was wrapped in a red warrior suit!
She was at a very young age, perhaps too young to enter the Punitive Expedition Academy.
Qian Jin nodded. Jun Wudo was indeed the underworld ruler! The mistress was exceptionally hot and young! In fact, Jun Wudo could be counted as handsome if not for the scars.
“Ha!”
The group members uttered a roar of anger at the same time, which seemed to shake off the dust on the roof. In a second, they all pulled the swords out! Glitter and bluster flashed the hall…
Qian Jin didn’t even raise his eyelids while looking around. He nodded in approval. “Mr. Wudo, I’m impressed by what you have down here! They seem good.”
The man on the throne rest one of his elbows on the handrail and tapped his temple with his index finger. He looked dominating! He nodded while observing Qian Jin who walked through the forest of blades. “Interesting! I have heard there is a rising star in the Torrent Battle Fort. To be frank, being daring enough to kill the Evil Lunar Angel is more surprising than actually having the strength to do so!”
