Chapter 1384: Xiaoke Moved
Chapter 1383 – Xiaoke Moved
Could it be that he knew her? How did he know her real name? After all, she had never used her real name in the industry before, she always used the name, flying sparrow! Why did he know her name?
Since the beginning, she had felt that he was already slightly familiar- could it be that she was a friend she knew in real life?
But did he really call her You Xiaoke? She wasn’t too sure- it was a very intense situation after all, could she have imagined it? She didn’t know now…
“What are you doing, staggering about? You think you’re a crab?” Lingshan was pissed enough as is, and this Xiaoke was walking around like a damned crab, agitating her even more, “Move quicker, otherwise he’ll have to save you again!”
“Oh…” Xiaoke looked at her, feeling wronged. It’s your man doing that stuff to me, alright? Why was she blaming her? She felt that Lingshan was angry because of how ambiguous Lin Yi and her’s relationship seemed, and she, being his partner and all, felt irritated.
Although, that was an accurate guess.
“She was almost crushed just now, and still hasn’t recovered- if you think she’s walking slow then carry her then!” Lin Yi frowned and looked at Lingshan.
Lin Yi didn’t think about it too much- he just assumed Lingshan was treating her with a bad attitude because she was a thief and was planning to arrest her.
Lingshan bit her lips, getting even more pissed off! Why! Why was a thief better than her, why couldn’t she move his heart? Yes, she had been a bit dumb before, but she was much calmer and composed now! Was she seriously still not as good as thief?
Xiaoke opened her mouth to say something, but paused- looking at Lingshan puffing her chest up angrily like that made her sigh. Why did it seem like the male thief didn’t treat her very well? Could he have grown tired of her, and was starting to look at her instead?
With that thought, she was getting a little hesitant. Was this a sign that she could replace the female thief? But… If the male thief really got tired of women quickly, what if he replaced her later? When she became older and not as pretty anymore, what would happen to the orphanage?
No, she would have to discuss it first, she needed to think about it before she did anything! The male thief may be interested in her now, but this concerned the future of the orphanage!
Xiaoke walked a bit faster, and gave an apologetic look to Lingshan.
Lingshan didn’t know if she should be pissed or amused- she felt quite helpless when it came to this girl. It’s not like she was able to arrest her with Lin Yi here, so fine- she was here to catch the graverobbers anyway.
After what happened with Xiaoke- while Old Hei and Elder Yu didn’t say anything- the two of them were a lot more careful. They only looked casually at the antiques and vases and all that, paying close attention to their surroundings.
“All the things here are just antiques,” Old Hei said faintly.
The value of these things weren’t alot, and they were just treasures that were placed at the front to mess with people. Their prices were only about a few thousand to tens of thousands, maybe reaching perhaps two hundred grand with the most expensive one- Old Hei really wasn’t interested in that amount of money.
Something Old Hei wasn’t interested in naturally didn’t concern Elder Yu- plus, he was coming for treasures, not wealth. His goal was the qi gathering elixir and the medical notes, as well as the personal notes of the refinement master. Something as important as this naturally wouldn’t be placed outside like this in a hallway surrounding the core of the palace.
But even so, he still checked everything he could to see if there was something inside.
“Can’t see the stuff I want- you guys can take it if you want,” Elder Yu said faintly.
Lin Yi walked over and looked a bit as well before leaving. Xiaoke had yet to recover from her previous incident, and was afraid of another boulder coming down. She shook her head and continued to follow Lin Yi.
Lingshan and Yutian weren’t here to rob the grave in the first place, so it had nothing to do with them.
The group moved forward, and the sides of the hallway still had many treasure chests and displays, but the group wasn’t interested at all. Even Xiaoke wasn’t as greedy, only taking a couple of jewels and gold from the displays while constantly paying attention to danger.
Lin Yi didn’t know if he should be amused by her actions- Xiaoke wasn’t as greedy anymore, but she was still a little greedy. He had to help her look out for danger using the jade in case anything happened.
Some distance away, they saw a big bookshelf, and Elder Yu ran over in a couple of steps. He was interested in elixirs and books, and not the other stuff. This clearly interested him.
Lin Yi walked over quickly as well- Elder Yu wouldn’t let these things go, and it was the same with him! He always took the chance to mess with Elder Yu so that when the time of conflict came, it would be easier for him.
As for Lin Yi following up instantly, Elder Yu found himself irritated by it- but there wasn’t anything he could do.
Lin Yi knew medicine himself, so he could look at the contents with pretty much a simple glance. These were all texts about medicine, and they weren’t the type that had rare special knowledge. They were all just common medical boots and ingredient texts. You could buy copies of these in bookstores.
The true meaning of this bookshelf, however, was a bait for thieves that weren’t experienced. They wouldn’t know about medicine books and all that, so the bookshelf’s value wasn’t in the content of the books- it was in the books themselves. They were antiques, and could be collected. They were actually worth quite a bit.
Elder Yu didn’t have this ability Lin Yi had, so he had to look through the books more seriously to see if there was anything he needed.
