Chapter 1514 1507: Decision
Chapter 1514 Chapter 1507: Decision
After confessing his truth, Wei Si no longer felt stifled or uneasy. Wei Wuyin's brilliant grin and relaxed laughter eased his worries, and he no longer had any doubts that this person wasn't his cousin. This further relieved the guilt he felt over the decades. The ever-looming thought of being directly responsible for Wei Wuyin's death was maddening. He didn't dare try to confirm if the Wei Wuyin in the outside world and the Wei Wuyin he knew were one and the same.
If it wasn't...
The two seemed to have traveled back in the past when they were young children who would traverse the mountains and forests unsupervised, talking about everything and anything that they could think of. Bai Lin stood beside Wei Si as they played together between topics.
"You can talk?!" Wei Si discovered Bai Lin's mental transmissions. She had tried to talk to him earlier, but there was a strange force guarding his mind. It was only after she told Wei Wuyin to inform Wei Si about her ability to communicate through mental energies that she could connect with him. It seemed he needed to actively allow others to enter.
However, regardless of what Wei Wuyin said or did, he couldn't bypass the limitation. This was likely an innately built response to his origins as a Magi and Wei Si's Spartan instinct. While he might be able to brute force it, Wei Si might suffer considerable mental damage as a result.
Wei Si and Bai Lin had long, long conversations. The light of nostalgia and peals of laughter resounded from a giant and a fire phoenix. It was an exceptional sight. Although, their conversations were extremely simple. They discussed topics like food and hobbies. Bai Lin even bragged about her host of servants from the Tang Clan who took care of her every need and hung on her every word.
It was exhilarating.
Wei Si initially was stunned, but after learning that the Tang Clan had tried to capture and extract Bai Lin's Essence Blood for their cultivation, a strong palpable aura of killing intent tensed the atmospheric layers of the Yang Mountain Realm.
"Do you think we're Mortal Gods now?" Wei Si thought as he observed the stormy atmospheric layer that was twisted by a mere shift in his mood, slowly returning to normal. It was shocking! In the Myriad Yore Continent, the title Mortal Gods was coined by Divine King Han Xei as a way to mock mortals for thinking of themselves as rulers and elites. However, both Wei Wuyin and Wei Si had strength that could defy the heavens as mere mortals.
"Probably," Wei Wuyin chuckled.
"Big Sis Yifei is so beautiful!" Wei Si brought up the scene of Xue Yifei being declared as Wei Wuyin's fiancée which was showcased throughout the Neo-Dawn Stellar Region. The bold declaration was unforgettable. Moreover, Xue Yifei was gorgeous to an extreme!
"Hehe," Wei Wuyin rubbed his nose with prideful eyes.
"But what about Yue Songli? I heard she was the former Number ONE Beauty of the Grand Cyclic Stellar Region. Is she also a Big Sis?" Wei Si's eyes glinted with a curious light. He wasn't very interested in women or men himself, but he was very invested in Wei Wuyin's relationships.
Wei Wuyin didn't hold back from here. He began to list his many lovers proudly, this included Bloodtorrent, the Helios Witch-Mei Yang, Yang Chaoyue, Tian Lingyu, Xiao Bing, and Hong Ru. He didn't hide anything from this curious cousin of his. He gave brief descriptions of the stage of their relationships and his ideas of who might be his next fiancée. While he didn't outright declare Na Xinyi as his woman, he did mention the standing promise that she could take at any time.
After a long series of descriptions and questions, Wei Si finally grasped some semblance of Wei Wuyin's relationships and their dynamics. Those beady eyes of his sparkled. Some relationships were relatively superficial, based on status and benefits, such as Bloodtorrent or Yang Chaoyue, others were more intimate like Xue Yifei and Yue Songli. Many of these relationships were defined by how they initially met and how Wei Wuyin approached them.
For example, Bloodtorrent was a vagabond cultivator that was pulled into a ploy to act against Trueborn and assisted in destroying Shadow Eggs and Yang Chaoyue had been very direct about what she wanted in exchange. The latter gained resources and a backer that she openly and readily used to gain freedom from the Tian Clan's iron grip, and her status changed greatly after. Moreover, she would act to assist him in anything he needed. She had even thrown the match to determine the Golden Life Pavilion's Pavilion Master.
Even during the Scarlet Solaris Sect, Wei Si was well aware that Wei Wuyin often had relationships that involved mutual benefits. As for actual relationships, only one woman had ever broken his hardened shell after 'that' incident.
After a while, his expression changed.
"What about Mei Mei?"
"..." Wei Wuyin's smile stiffened.
"..."
"..."
Wei Si realized he said something that touched a particularly sensitive spot. While Wei Wuyin had spoken about the Helios Witch being one of his maids, similarly a lover staying within his Original Dawn Palace, he didn't mention Mei Mei. Wei Si wasn't low in intelligence or smart, and while others might make such hasty conclusions based on his barbaric and simple-minded appearance, he was quite intuitive and intelligent.
"Ah!" After several minutes, Wei Wuyin suddenly stretched his limbs, spine, and chest as if to let loose a deeply held feeling from his body. "I'll be visiting her soon."
"..." Wei Si didn't openly speak anything more on the subject, and only gave a firm nod. Wei Wuyin had so many fantastical stories that were dangerous and exciting, so many lovers that were beautiful and flavorful, a status that could be considered the apex of this world, he didn't think Wei Wuyin would neglect Mei Mei after all she's done.
"Do you think I can protect those close to me?" Wei Wuyin suddenly asked.
"I think..." Wei Si paused, "I think you'll never stop trying until you can."
Wei Wuyin lifted his two hands toward the sky and he slowly grasped the air. "Yeah."
He placed his fists on the mountain and slightly pounded. "Yeah."
Then, he slowly stood up and exclaimed softly to the sky, "Yeah."
After hearing three yeahs, Wei Si couldn't resist the urge to smile. This was something that his father, Wei Wuyin's uncle, would do when he was making a decision. Seeing it here, he couldn't help but recall that steady figure that constantly chided him for eating too much, growing too big, yet never letting him ever be hungry or know that he was always a willing ear.
That day, Wei Wuyin wasn't the only one who lost almost everything. He, too, lost his mother. He, too, lost his father. He, too, lost his family.
Wei Si's head dropped as his heart sank into the depths of melancholy. Despite all his raw strength, he could only cherish them in his memories.
"Do you want to come with me?" Wei Wuyin asked as a breeze gently moved his hair and robes.
"Come? Come with you where?" Wei Si was unknowingly touching his plaque. He was cognizant of his subconscious urges. It was as if it was imprinted on him to fight and crush all Magi, and this included his cousin. But how could he ever allow that to take place? Even if the heavens forced him and gods demanded it of him, he'd rather die than lose another family member.
However, that wouldn't change the reality of both of their origins. Wei Wuyin was alive and that was perfect. That was beyond perfect. Nevertheless, staying here would only complicate the situation. Despite knowing this, Wei Si didn't want to leave just yet. This was a desire that was entrenched into his soul as if knowing that this particular warmth of family and love was unbearably precious, and after leaving, he might never feel it again.
Never.
Wei Wuyin grinned as he pointed at the sky, "To beyond the stars." As his finger moved, the Yang Mountain Realm's skies parted as a starry depiction of the vast world as glorious as the heavens themselves showed itself. Wei Si's eyes widened and his body trembled.
Yet he still couldn't help but ask: "Why?"
Wei Wuyin was the renowned, era-defining Neo-Dawn Ascendant Emperor, the absolute apex figure throughout this world, and a glorious Worldly Saint Alchemist. With beautiful wives, gorgeous maids, opulent palaces, and endless worship, he didn't need to leave. He had it all.
Unfortunately, the path of cultivation was never so simple, and Wei Wuyin's path of survival as the secrets of the Magi slowly begin to show themselves, the Calamities of Hell always lurking, and the Bloodline of Sin etched into his body, awaiting an unknown, uncertain purpose and untold destiny, he couldn't stop where he was. He had to move forward.
If not for the Heavenly War Spirit, he would have capitalized on the All-Ending Stellar Calamity to push forward with forceful momentum. Since the Heavenly War Spirit's cultivation was almost as important as the cultivation of his Astral Souls, he refused to allow her to stagnate.
"Why?" Wei Wuyin's grin widened, turning to Wei Si as the starry skies' brilliance shone down on his tall figure. Bai Lin and Wei Si's minds were illuminated by his peerless visage.
"I'm going to start a war," Wei Wuyin said with the firmness of steel and the light, airy weight of an infant's first breath. It was without the slightest doubt or turbidity.
Wei Si's cells stimulated and his muscles bulged. War? The mere war triggered his soul and caused his heart to pound with the intensity of ten thousand drums. Each moment sounded as if a cacophony of thunderous booms, all emanating from Wei Si's body.
Wei Wuyin's spine straightened and his silver eyes unleashed remarkably astonishing spiritual light. The Celestial Eyes of Spiritual Divinity of his true body circulated at this very moment, affecting his False God Avatar even from millions of miles away.
Wei Wuyin looked at Wei Si and said with each syllable as clear as could feasibly be, "And then...I'm going to win it."
Wei Si's large fists clenched tighter than ever before!
